I’m a big Thor fan but was disappointed in love and thunder. What was billed as “funny” was just plain awful. Was hard to watch Thor be treated as and acting like a buffoon for the sake of empowering female Thor. I’m happy to hear director not returning.

    1. Shelley

He ruined the Thor story, good riddance.

      1. Jess

Who cares really so much going on in our world right now to care about what’s going on with Hollywood

        1. Voiceofm

If you’re not interested in Thor or Marvel then why are you here?

          1. Gary

            Thank you

        2. Nikki

It was brilliant!! Obviously people don’t understand Aussie/NZ humour. It’s by far the best Thor film!!!

          1. Israel S

I agree…it was a great movie…one of my favorites…i love the director. His show What we do in the Shadows is a masterpiece. Im tired of this culture war b.s. haters are ruining everything.

          2. Kris

Well, he made Thor over comedic, humors are good but not over the top, and also there are so many deleted scenes that made the movie felt rushed, Gorr for me is the greatest of all of Thor’s villains and in this movie it just felt way short of character he is…l

          3. Rich

People don’t understand the premise of the movie. the story is being told by Korg and its his perspective we see on screen.

          4. Good point.

          5. Jared

I agree. Sure it didn’t fit the MCU mold, but it was so entertaining! I wasn’t bored at any time… although the Dumpling God was a little over the top lol. But, if you are going to make gods out of myths, why not!

        3. brynfu smith

          Awesome… Good Bye 😉👍

      2. Disappointed

I agree. He makes the characters seem like morons and buffoons. Good riddance indeed.

        1. Rob

OMG other tan yourself, Voiceofm and Shelley everyone else go cry somewhere else about your issues. This is meant to be a comment on the movie. As a Kiwi I was embarrassed by the movie, felt sorry for Thor’s character, trying to hard for a laugh. Bale was ok and the screaming Goats were more funny. Taiki needs to change it up.

        2. J Houston Brown

Good God will you stop with the word “woke.” Black people coined the phrase to mean “aware” as in the opposite of asleep or a blind follower. Homosexuality isn’t woke. Anyone white men don’t like isn’t woke. It’s not a euphemism for black or annoying protestor.
You morons started barking woke this and woke that and that’s NOT WHAT IT MEANS. What you describe is the opposite of it.

Black people have been using that expression for at least 40 years and now here come you idiots. Every dimwitted degenerate with a pet cause is that bumbling mess called a social justice warrior. It’s the white copycat clumsy attempt to copy the spirit of the civil rights movement almost to the letter. Gay white people who want to piss off their parents are NOT “WOKE.” Cut the bs and stop stealing and twisting expressions and playing victim of the world finally forcing you to behave.

    2. Concerned

This movie was fairly woke. Unfortunately, kids believe in many things: Santa Claus, tooth fairy, Peter Pan …. Some kids even believe they’re dogs, cats, dinosaurs, fish, birds, airplanes …. It’d therefore be super easy to groom kids to believe they are LGBTQ. Is it possible that Disney’s lesbian Chairwoman and her underlings have been deliberately displaying LGBTQ as a norm to indoctrinate gullible kids? If this is true, it would be a very cruel violation of trust, as many kids are too young to understand that LGBTQ would forever deprive them of their reproduction right to have their own kids, not to mention the difficulties and depression resulting from going against your own biology.

      1. IOW

Hi. I grew up with zero LGBT role models. Zero LGBT characters in films. Zero LGBT family or friends.

Yet, when I was five years old, I had a girlfriend named Sydoni and she and I had a plan to move off to Vermont together and get married. (We told my mom and her mom we wanted to get married, and when her mom said we couldn’t, my mom said we could in Vermont. Gay was never montioned).

Gay isn’t something I was indoctrinated into. I was indoctrinated into being straight. If I knew I liked girls before I ever found out what gay was (which I discovered in middle school when my brother came out), how could I have been indoctrinated into being gay?

        1. Concerned

IOW, glad we can have a civil exchange of opinions instead of yelling homophobia whenever someone disagrees with LGBTQ. Disagreement is not the same as hating: we can disagree with a smoking as being unhealthy but we don’t hate the smoker (ie, no smoker-phobia).

You answered your question yourself. The gay indoctrination likely came subtly from your brother over the years. Imagine how much more effective if the LGBTQ indoctrination was overt instead of covert? Scientific data have repeatedly shown people in closed groups become LGBTQ in huge percentages, consistent with imitation/indoctrination. But don’t take my words for it, please check for yourself.

          1. Akuin

Ok, no. As an ex-smoker I take super offense to your example. People 100% hated ME personally for being a smoker. I was not even treated as on the same level as an animal let alone a human.

When we would ask for a safe smoking area we were met with threats of the whole area going smoke free to shut us down. We would stand out in the elements with no shelter, no shade, no seating of any kinda, and normally in an unmaintained space.

On top of that non-smokers would frequently go off the beaten trail to walk throught to complain loudly and demand the school get rid of us. When the school didn’t the non-smokers trapped our Ash trays so they would catch on fire to force business hands.

So screw anyone that says smokers aren’t hated. There is no smoker-phobia label because we are a socially approved target for torture, because we ‘can just quit’…it’s crap.

          2. Her

Of course you can just quit? Would you jerk off in public then blame everyone because they’re disgusted?

          3. GDF

Your indoctrination clearly came from various sources that you must only be heterosexual. I am even willing to bet that false religious diety beliefs was involved in your upbringing. Common sense is that a brother who comes out as gay would have any way of understanding how to indoctrinate another kid when they themselves are not fully understanding their own body and desires. Leave the hate elsewhere and focus on the positive and negative of this movie.

          4. Faulty

Your ignoring a very larte variable -societal indoctrination towards being straight. Removing that by creating a neutral environment already is going to encourage more gay youth to express themselves (because they are no longer in an environment often outright hostile toward them).

I’m not sure how you’d even make a child grow up in an environment where gay inroctrination outweighs straight indoctrination. Maybe in certain cities that’s possible.

          5. Eric

Super, SUPER insulting to assume you know IOW’s experiences better than they do. That’s really disgusting of you.

          6. AJ

The “gay indoctrination” BS tells us all about your homophobia. And, no, there is no “scientific data” showing people turn gay from social contact. Just get back to your damp, mossy cave. Out here, exposed to reality, you’ll burn to ash. E-gads.

          7. Iamglory

            Here here

          8. Jared

I agree that sex is a learned behavior. I do not agree with “It is not a decision they make, no one grooms them, it’s a factor of their biology, just like being heterosexual is for you.”

I don’t believe you liking your friend when 5 years old means you desired to have sex with them. No five year old has sexual feelings or sexual understanding. We are taught that and I think Disney is trying to indoctrinate not just kids but adults to accept LGBTQ behavior as healthy and normal.

          9. Jrb

How would you know anything about someone else’s experience? And your premise is wrong. To be gay does not equal gay sex. To be gay is to be attracted to the same sex for a variety of reasons including emotional which this woman can claim to know at 5 as I did at around the same age with absolutely no family or friends to influence me. You need to look at the world far beyond what you “believe”

        2. LegoGuru2000

And since your own personal experience must be reflective of everyone else’s experience…..

Kids very well can be influenced or indoctrinated into believing they are something they are not. Despite efforts to cover up the stories there are many post transition patients who have come out to share their story of how they were coaxed into transitioning when they wouldn’t have all because the adults involved were pushing their beliefs about gender/sex onto the child.

        3. Jess

          I agree with you 100%!

        4. Grace

My little brother wanted to marry our mother when he was 5. I wanted to marry Gilbert Blythe. No, little kids don’t have a clue about their sexuality or sexual proclivities. As psychology has finally acknowledged, kids need to be allowed to enjoy their childhood innocence in healthy peace. Adulthood comes soon enough.

        5. thewoke

thats the thing about grooming..the kid doesnt know its happening

          1. Jared

I agree. They don’t know any better. That is why they have parents!

      2. Finally Represented

I cant even begin to tell you how offensive your comment is. First of all, being gay is a norm. Gay men and women have been born since well before the Bible was even written. Just because you dont agree with it doesnt mean you’re right. Disney is not trying to indoctrinate anybody into becoming gay, do you even hear yourself? Kudos to Disney for having the heart to represent everybody in our current society, not just the straight white bread society such as yourself. Many kids grow up confused because their cruel parents are forcing them to be straight, when they know in their hearts they feel differently. My parents hates anything having to do with someone being gay, so i was raised in that manner. I knew when i was 3 years old that a neighborhood boy was cute, and on my first day of Kindergarten i remember being attracted to another boy in my class. Today, i know full and well that i am gay and always have been. I didnt watch a movie that brainwashed me into believing this. Please educate yourself!

        1. Concerned

The norm is set at birth by your anatomy. Have you ever considered your becoming gay a rebellion against your strict parents or a result of indoctrination by the media like Disney?

People may have many proclivities but he shouldn’t act on every proclivity (eg, sex with fish or cats) no matter how pleasurable they are. It’s worse if he now insists on his proclivity’s “right” to representation by violating many parents’ rights by advertising his unusual proclivity to little children as a norm, encouraging them to adopt his infertile lifestyle.

          1. GDF

Wow concerned you really are showing how ignorant you are as science has shown that people can be born with various mixtures of DNA. XX is considered female where XY is considered male and yet we still get a mixture of DNA that puts a female in a male body and vice versa. On top of that we have proof of humans being born with both genetilia.
This is an amazing Multi-cultural world we live on and we have had a complete mix of humans since the start of time.
Stop trying to indoctrinate folks to your racist way of thinking. This is supposed to be about the Thor movie.

          2. Jared

Define what you mean by attractive please.

        2. LegoGuru2000

No its not. %96 of the human species is heterosexual. Thus homosexuality is by far NOT the norm. Whether you believe in the creation theory or evolution both are in alignment with heterosexuality being the norm since humans are sexually reproductive species. Being gay doesn’t mean you aren’t entitled to the same rights and freedoms as non-gay people, at least in the US, but NO you are not entitled to claim that being Gay is a norm.

          1. Concerned

Well said, LegoGuru. We need more eloquent people like you to speak up to help stop the inadvertent or deliberate LGBTQ grooming.

          2. Uh oh math

Look up the Kinsey scale studies. Most people do not fall under either extreme (completely heterosexual or homosexual). The norm is to have some attraction to both, often repressing same sex attraction due to society/religious pressure.

It’s true a heterosexual leaning is still dominant in the studies, but keep in mind these studies are on real people in a society hostile to gayness, and they STILL show most people aren’t 100% straight.

          3. Indie

Thank you! For saying what I came here to say.

Saying that being gay is the norm isn’t as saying that it’s a majority of the population. It’s saying that it’s homosexuality is present and normal in humans. Just as it is in many many species on earth. You only have to look at our closest living relatives the Bonobos to see that it’s normal.

I’m also a great believer in the fact that no one is born ‘straight’, there’s no such thing, were all born with the capability to be attracted to the same or opposite sex. Maybe it’s once in our lifetime, maybe it’s a few times, maybe it’s for the rest of our lives. Maybe you push those urges back because your upbringing told you it was wrong, or maybe you embraced them because you were brought up knowing that different choices were accepted.

        3. Grace

Actually the executive being referenced DID explicitly say that they were pushing gay indoctrination & she wanted more in their productions.

        4. Homosexuals R So Gay

You are correct gay people were here before the Bible. The Bible discusses it though.
          It’s called Sodom and Gomorrah.

        5. Jarvis

          Hey Finally,

Does it get tiring being offended at everything? You stake your self serving opinions of life as the way things are, then expect everyone else to conform. Keep being offended, but leave others alone.

      3. You’re absolutely correct like who makes a lgbt rock then both being same sex can have kids

        1. Concerned

JD, your resorting to insult suggests you didn’t have enough knowledge to respond properly to logical arguments. However, we won’t stoop down to your level.

You always can change/influence people, especially when they’re still young children. LGBTQ is a sexual act and since everyone has free will, he can always choose to do certain acts and not others. Stopping LGBTQ acts may be difficult (like any other pleasurable addictions), but it’s possible. You may ask why you should stop LGBTQ. The answer is you don’t have to, but you must be prepared to accept the consequences such as infertility, sexual difficulties, lack of representation, etc.

      4. Mom

There was no reason to be “woke” in this movie! That’s why it did so badly!!

        1. See Yuh

Whether Alphabet Soup people are normal or not isn’t even the issue. Putting aside that in nature, homosexuality is a phenomenon that happens from few reasons including unnatural mutation, lack of options, dysphoria, hypersexuality and brain issues… not even the point. Point is, to have all this “woke” crap in every single (Disney) film these days, despite gays being less than 4% of the population, increasing by massive numbers only after indoctrination was introduced to social media/film industry is concerning at the least, disgustingly horrifying at most. And people are finally getting sick of it and having it shoved down our throats, so to speak. And I’m glad we are getting some semblance of actual normality back.

      5. Rob Recio

Your “facts” leave a lot to be desired. If being gay were a choice, very few would choose to be a minority thar has to deal ignorant bigots.

        1. Mary

Rob, have you heard of supply and demand? The more forbidden, the more desirable it is for some people. It’s possible some people choose LGBTQ because it’s so exciting to do something so outrageous.

          1. All Yer Moms

You may have heard of supply and demand but you don’t understand how it works at all. It has nothing to do with anything being forbidden it just means there’s not enough of something to satisfy the want or need so people are willing to pay more to get it.

      6. Eyeroll

Whoa. Buddy, the movie was bad. It had nothing to do with being “woke.” The female, bi, trans, and lesbian characters in the movie are played for insultingly bad jokes as much as the straight and/or male characters. It’s just a bad movie.

      7. Eric

Your comment reads like someone upset that anything would contradict their own attempted indoctrination of children. You want grooming? Look to the church.

      8. Kittie

What kind of simpleton are you?

      9. Whiskey tango

Personally, I’ve never met any child who believed they were an animal. But how can a child be LGB? Gender identity develops during childhood, but sexual orientation doesn’t occur until puberty. I can see why you’re concerned though, if you’ve met children who think they’re animals. Are they relatives?

      10. Erin

You could not be more incorrect (and ignorant if the facts) if you tried. You act as if ‘lgbtq’ is a disease to be controlled.
        Normalizing does not equal grooming!

        1. Mary

Erin, normalizing often equals grooming. This is why PG-rated movies don’t show violence, murder, incest, child sex, etc. to avoid normalizing them to impressionable kids.

      11. JD

You can’t just make someone be what they aren’t. For example, I’m sure your parents wanted to make you smart, kind, and tolerant. But that didn’t happen. Disney has no more power to change someone than your parents did

      12. Vivi

The fact that you actually felt okay with posting this bunch of BS is wild to me. I too, am sick of all this wokeness and changing of our character’s sex changes for the sake of inclusivity but to go as far as to say kids are being indoctrinated into becoming gay or lesbian is quite ridiculous. Being LGBT isn’t something you can teach someone, it’s something you are born with, also that doesn’t limit someone from becoming a parent and starting a family should they choose to do so. Reconsider your way of thinking cuz it’s kinda way off.

      13. Valencia

Please tell me this comment is parody 😂😂😂

    3. Pooper

100% agree. Ruined thors character. Why did they try so hard and fail so epically to make thor something he isn’t ?

      1. Utah

1st The curtain got pulled back on director Taika Waititi and his lack of creative talent was exposed. This Combined with the forced woke-ness just made the film unwatchable. At 250 million this maybe(is imo) the worst film ever made. It had every tool /toy available, almost unlimited money with solid actors and still horrible That is 100% on the director.
        PERIOD

        1. ean

Director no, some maybe on him but the biggest factor is when Disney took over they wrecked mcu and sw, they should stick to their fantasy cartoons. Make Snow white into cartoon series and ruin them not these great franchise just because they have money to get them.

    4. Chris Davis

I’m glad Chris Hemsworth is funny. I appreciate the use of his talents. But sometimes too much funniest/silliest can make the movie stale. There wasn’t a lot of suspense, drama or action. Most of the action scenes were jokes and homages to other movies. I can see if it’s a joke every so often but he made Thor 4 into a comedy. No thank you. The reason it worked in Thor 3 was because there was so many things happening. Hela, Loki, ragnarok, the hulks arch. Most of the scenes in Thor 4 has a joke. I like action movies with good storylines. Fighting and being comedian for 2 consecutive films was not a good idea. It’s Marvel for crying a loud. there’s so much information to draw from. Needless to say, the film disappointed me. I never want folks losing their jobs but yeah the director can move on.

    5. JD

      I’m glad he isn’t either.

      1. Seriously?

Ragnarok walked the fine line and I enjoyed it but Love and Thunder was horrible. Disney is trending wokeness .. specifically LGBTQ++++ but pulling back on that wouldn’t have made it a better movie. Every Thor scene was shlapshtick as opposed to Gor’s scenes all being heavy and dark. The director went full clown show … he’s no James Gunn

        1. Jayne1955

You do realize, that just like in Greek and Roman legends, the Norse Gods in the original myths often had gay relationships, don’t you? And probably worse thing from your particular point of view. In one Norse story Loki changed into a horse, had sex with another horse and gave birth to a horse.

    6. CMSeibel

      100%
Why make this old, experienced God into a massive moron. It made me sad.

    7. Nathaniel

I enjoyed the movie and my sons loved it…. perhaps some people age out of the series and need to move their fandom…..just a thought

    8. Rob

I liked it. Something different than just non stop explosions. I will continue following Waititi’s directorial career.

    9. Nathan

I don’t think Taika Waititi is necessarily a bad director, but he’s definitely not fit for Marvel. The whole movie felt like it was coasting off the success of Ragnarok. Like, Ragnarok was…a little quirky, sure, but it was still a Thor movie and a good one at that. I think they just saw how well Waititi was received with Ragnarok that they decided to let him go all out with this one and it just didn’t translate well. The whole screaming goat joke is so old and worn out that it just got really annoying after a few minutes. Christian Bale as Gorr was actually great but he didn’t get nearly enough screen time. Lady Sif’s return felt as abrupt as her disappearance from Ragnarok. She was only there for exposition which felt aggravating to me. Storm breaker being jealous of Mjolnir was just stupid. Jane Foster returning as Mighty Thor was done terribly in my opinion. Everything about this movie just didn’t feel right. And yes I get it, the movie was told from Korg’s perspective but that doesn’t make it justified. It just means that it’s even more confusing and unfaithful to what really happened and raises even more questions. Keep in mind this is just all my opinion though.

    10. Vary

      Agree completely

  2. M

Does anyone do their research anymore?

Eternals is the lowest rated Marvel film with 45%

    1. Drew

I think Kenneth brannagh should return. The comedic side has been hit and miss but I think we should get back to the more Shakespearian and serious god, especially with Hercules coming in and hemsworth likely ending his run soon. Bring it back to the movie and comic roots

    2. Rob

I thought it was hilarious, and really enjoyable to watch. It’s too bad Watiti might not be back. He’s incredibly talented.

      1. Jd

Yeah you are the reason Marvel puts out crap movies.

        1. Dennis

I have not seen the movie yet. Waiting for it to come out on Disney. Plus. I do think that he is a great director and you never know what was imposed upon him by the studio. A director rarely ever gets to have their complete way in making a movie.

    3. Florida Gov ROX

The short answer is no. The long answer is it would go against their narrative.

    4. Pancho _Sansa

I would be on board with pretending that movie doesn’t exist.

  3. Mark L

I’m happy to hear this. Thor, while occasionally funny (ThunderFrog), is generally a serious character. He is a warrior, not a comic.

  4. Mike

I am a 100% Thor fan. Loved the film. Love his story arc. Loved L&T tremendously. Loyal MCU fan till the end. I cant stand whats happening outside the actual films with all this criticism. Stopped watching Youtube reviews and reactions because I feel this spoiled fandom is turning the MCU to the Star Wars Universe!

    1. Zofi

Agreed 100%. I thought it was great to see more into the pantheons of gods. I would have liked to see a Snyder’s cut version of this movie just to see more of the gods and their relationship.

  5. Robert Upton

I am glad to hear the director will not be returning. The Love and Thunder movie was terrible.

  6. James Seigars

I think if nothing else he should at least return as Korg. He can let someone else direct and just concentrate on the Korg part of the story & see how it goes IF they do a Thor 5.

  7. T

Why the hell do we need to see Korg?

    1. Triggered much…?? What, no one else is allowed to have an opinion or preference that doesn’t align with yours….? You didn’t really read his comment either. The OP didn’t say anything about needing Korg. I would explain it to you but I don’t have a box of crayons to draw you a picture so you could understand. SMH

  8. AMANDA VALDORIAN

I appreciated the romantic story that was added back in to Thor Love and Thunder and that we FINALLY got to see him and Jane have a relationship (though it was based on the past), but the rest of the film was so disappointing especially the waste of such a great villain!

I do not want Taika to do another Thor film because I feel like he sort of ruined the character for the sake of his own self masterbatory ego trip of a from… The film was about Taika, not Thor.

I REALLY HOPE WE GET A THOR MOVIE WHERE HE’S MORE LIKE THE THOR IN THE FIRST 2 FILMS, BUT WITH JUST A TOUCH OF THE HUMOR FROM RAGNAROK!

  9. James

Thor Love and Thunder sucked! I was bitterly disappointed. The only good thing I took away from the film was a keychain with Storm Breaker on it.

    1. Bring backOGthor

I thought thor love and thunder was a joke , they are making marvel movies and series into comedies now rather than action, these people are super heroes some of them gods not clowns . Thor is a powerful being as is zeus but they acted ridiculous in this film , guardians of the galaxy has the humour for the mcu and it works but not with thor , I’m a huge marvel fan but the film was disappointing . Korg is a from a strong race and is a warrior but in the film he’s nothing more than an annoying side kick , gorr was a let down too , they could have done so much more with that character instead they gave us Christian bale as voldermort with a nose , disappointing.

  10. Nemome Noname

Taika Waititi apparently hates everything but fart jokes. It was uncanny to see the amount of possibilities for love, grief, drama, fear, adventure, hate… well pretty much all of human emotion coming from the original story arc of comics wasted so utterly underneath humor suitable for 7 year olds. I could have rewritten a better storyline. I was filled with sorrow watching all of the talent, starting from the comics storylines wasted so totally. What a POS.

  11. Robert Troy Strohlin

I don’t read and or watch reviews. Since more than likely, they never give a review I agree with. The second the reviewers put down a film or an actor I like and respect. They’re done with me. Now having said that. IDGAF what the neigh sayers like, care about or find important in life, film of otherwise. Point in fact. I Hate reviewers simply because their simple minded and crass ideals on films are just weak and frivolous. So I hold nothing they say or think as anything that anyone would want to hear. In my vast experience of 50yrs of film enthusiasm and study. I believe Taika Waititi is one of the most talented and forthright directors out there. Directing films we all want to see. I personally want more Taika! Taika Waititi for President!!!

I’d rather watch Bollywood or Korean movies than american movies. Everyone of them are no different to all the others. Boring. I’d rather watch it when it comes out on tv. Least then I can save money and change the channel when I want

  13. 46er

Thor Love & Thunder was great fun . If you didn’t like it then fair enough, you won’t be buying a copy on 4k Blu-ray unlike myself who will be !

Marvel has been more “miss” than “hit” since Endgame. This was a hit. The TV shows except for the excruciatingly bad Wanda vision, she hulk and Ms marvel have been fine . Look at Loki, Hawkeye, Falcon & The Winter Soldier and the “what if….” Series. They were fun.

I don’t believe for one minute the director gives a damn about the naysayers as a 700 million box office is great and Blu-ray sales will be huge as well. If he leaves it’ll likely be just to pursue other projects not because some keyboard warriors left negative reviews.

    1. Truthhurts

Wanda vision is my GF favorite Marvel show. It consistently gets the most favored reviews of the Disney+ shows. I haven’t seen L+T but am very disappointed that story and character have been eschewed for comedy. If the masses criteria is fun, then I guess Marvel can join the mindless ranks of franchises like Fast and Furious, and I’m out.

  14. Nadine

I agree with you. Thor didn’t need to be a comedy and I thought Ragnarok made a really serious situation far too jokey. It’s also refreshing to see a comment based on the actual films & comic books rather than a moan about “wokeness”

  15. Tee

He should definitely not return. A new director is a welcome idea.

  16. Trey

I love Marvel Comics I always have, as a fan from the comic stand point i have several 1960’s era comics 1st issues so when it comes to the MCU, My opinion is the movies don’t do it justice.. THOR love & thunder Should be it, let it rest move on to the next mcu story. The first 2 films were on a more serious role that’s how thor should be, instead films 3 and 4 were turned into a stupid cartoon like movie. In The thor comics there were no comedy story lines. Please let Love and thunder be the final film. If not leave the comedy out of it.

  17. Bill H

I haven’t seen the current Thor yet but I do agree with the director that going to the same bag of tricks for comedy gets old. I’m not sure there should be another sequel to Thor considering Thor, according to comic canon, is in Secret Wars. It would be an opportunity to pass the hammer for good to Natalie Portman.

  18. NYTony

Was it as good as Ragnarok? No. Was it a bad film? No. When comparing all the thor films, I’d place it in 2nd place. It was better than Eternals and I thought that film was just OK.

People need to chill the F out.

As far as those bashing any lbgtq content . . First I’m as straight and old fashioned as they come. And I found nothing wrong with the film. 2nd All it did was treat everyone like they were normal, which is what we should do in the first place.

And it wasn’t like it was in your face kinds of stuff. The “gayest” involved Korg. But is it? It was mentioned that Korg’s entire race is male, and to make babies, they find someone and hold hands with and hands submerge their hands in lava. After 1 month a baby rock person is formed in the lava. Annnd what’s the big deal? On this planet there are some creatures where the entire race is female. And they somehow reproduce…. There are even some amphibians where . . Get this. . They will change between male or female if there’s not enough of one sex within a population. It happens in our natural world that God made. And people are upset about ficticious rock alien beings. Jeesh get a life.

    1. Concerned

NYTony, but humans are not the same as aliens or animals. There are REAL consequences for humans who go against their biological makeup, starting with infertility.

  19. MarvelSux

Good. Let one trick pony Waititi go whine somewhere else before he further ruins the franchise. And have him stay way the hell away from Star Wars too.

  20. Kevin

Good. Let one trick pony Waititi go whine somewhere else before he further ruins the franchise. And have him stay way the heck away from Star Wars too.

  21. Brett Glenn

They should have never done the L&T storyline. It sucked in comic form, nothing was going to change that on the big screen.

Marvel blew their wad by doing Infinity Gauntlet first. In the comics world, it does not get any better than that.

This last phase was TERRIBLE! I only watched the Spiderman one. Had zero interest in a post death Black Widow film where they ruined one of the Avengers best villains. Zero interest in Eternals, a cast of heroes that have never been successful in comics from their inception.

No interest in Shang-Chi, who was a 70s C level hero at best.

None of the Disney + shows appealed to me.

They are trying to make A+ films with B & C level heroes. When you remove Captain America, Iron Man, nuter Thor and Hulk. That dont leave you much to work with.

Plus the reality is they have been milking this hero film stuff for over a decade. People get tired of the same old formula.

Then there is all the race, sex agenda BS that has no place in comic films anyway, it’s all the BS that pretty much killed the actual comic industry, you would think they would learn from that.

The golden age of marvel cinema is over.

    1. Trey

Amen brother couldn’t have said it better myself

  22. Lamonte

Yeah, he ruined Thor having him look and act like a clown!

    1. MyOp

I just watched it on Disney+ after seeing it in the movies when it first came out. It’s bad. Bale was hardly in the film and kills everyone to only go back at the last moment. Dead people didn’t stay dead, they’re alive in Valhalla now. The fighting scenes were generic and I didn’t care to get the kids back after they go snatched… cuz get this, I have no pull to want to get them back. Thors jokes were mediocre, guardians of the galaxy should have been there longer, and the screaming goats were flat out annoying. I laughed at the jealous axe and Zeus grabbing his skirt walking down the stairs, like I would if I were watching a South Park episode back in 1998. The whole thing was a big fart joke.

I think Thor3 was one of my top 3 marvel movies because TW directed it right. Then he over did his comedy direction and it fell flat. Like when your favorite recording artist starts making bad music, it may be time to move on.

  23. JSH

I loved the flick! Great action and what a soundtrack!

  24. Steph

I’m a huge Thor fan. The “woke” issue didn’t bother me at all. I just hate that he made the characters into buffoons. He completely Nerfed Loki and destroyed any sense of gravitas or stakes. Bring back Branagh!

  25. Mark

This film needed to be more serious. Every aspect of this storyline in the comics is serious…there were too many jokes.

  26. Concerned

NYTony, but humans are not the same as aliens or animals. There are REAL consequences for humans who go against their biological makeup, starting with infertility.

  27. Scott

Nothing against him but Thor Ragnarok and love and thunder try too hard to be a comedy instead of an action superhero flick. Ragnarok is literally the apocalypse of the norse gods and instead of being more dark and serious it was all a joke. We need a serious bad ass action packed thor.

  28. Steve

I don’t get the hate. This movie was very funny and had a great story. I enjoyed every single minute of it. Waititi is a legend.

    1. Basic math

it made 500 million profit, people liked it fine

      1. Hamish McLellan

        👏🏻👏🏻
That’s what I thought. And at 3x ROI they could be justified in continuing. But it’s also important to keep things fresh.

  30. RDB

The only movie I’ve ever walked out of 20 minutes into the film. It was terrible.

  31. John

Haven’t seen it, but I assume Thor’s face smushed up against the camera 3 times are the main punchline

  32. J

You see what Being a toxic so called fan gets you? Now we nay never get a 5th film.. being over negative and being a sheep always goes over well.. not. Form your iwn opinion. I enjoyed the film, got to see more Thor x2 in fact, mighty Thor and foster were great!

  33. DebSTL

Don’t care if director returns but definitely want a fifth Thor film. Love Chris Hemsworth in the role. Isn’t it the partly the writer’s job to make a film good? Also would love anther Hulk movie with Ruffalo in the lead

  34. Kay

Ragnarok was refreshingly cute and funny but that cannot sustain the franchise due to its immaturity level. A little is good, a steady diet , ugh. I don’t want Thor turned into a Himbo to make other characters take the resigns of maturity. There’s a limit to what Waititi style humor can do for the franchise. He’s great at stories of young developing male leads. I would like to see him do more YA movies and more movies where he can temper the humor with adult level character arcs.

  35. Who gives a fu¢k about She-Thor™?! Tika What’s-a-Titty should be forced to refund everyone’s money 💵💰 who failed to be impressed with his crap-on-a-stick. Good riddance, Tika!! 🖕🏾😡

  36. James

Wow so many idiots scared of being “woke” in the comments. Love and Thunder was a bit silly at times but i found it hugely entertaining and good fun. Great movie for the kids too.

  37. Sarah

I loved love and thunder and I love Taika Waititi’s works in general. Ragnarok will always be one of my favorite movies of all time. I truly do hope Taika returns to Marvel at least if not Thor itself.

  38. Cat

Did not like all the gay innuendo. Plus Thor seemed to be emasculated and that isn’t the Viking God of Thunder

  39. David T

Should’ve been called Thor: Love and Panto. Felt like a school project rather than a Hollywood blockbuster. Massive letdown.

  40. Ant

IDC If Disney is trying to indoctrinate kids…..they are there to make movies and THOR Land T sucked as a Marvel film and Feige should be embarrassed of Taika’s work on this one. MS MARVEL Dr Strange 2 sucked as well. Marvels last good movie/show was Spidey No way home. It’s time for Waititi to move on…..he just doesn’t get it…..

  41. Barbara

If any of you complaining about ‘wokeness’ in Thor ever bothered to read the source material maybe you’d understand it better. The storyline was taken right out of the books, I know, I still have them and just recently finished rereading them. And, yes, horror of horrors, Val is gay in the comics, too. Just like the Amazons, she was a member of an elite female band of warriors.

You make yourselves look ignorant when you come on here ranting and raving about culture wars. There have always been, and always will be, gay members of our society. It is not a decision they make, no one grooms them, it’s a factor of their biology, just like being heterosexual is for you.

Maybe if you worried more about your own lives and stopped trying to forcefully impose your beliefs on others there wouldn’t be so many people becoming disgusted with organized religion. Jesus would be horrified to see what is done in his name now.

    1. Truthhurts

Huh. I’m not out to defend those you’re attacking, but your argument that the source material means the movie can’t be called woke ignores that the source material…is woke! 🤣

    2. Jared

I agree. Sure it didn’t fit the MCU mold, but it was so entertaining! I wasn’t bored at any time… although the Dumpling God was a little over the top lol. But, if you are going to make gods out of myths, why not!

    3. Valencia

      👏👏👏 Well said!

      1. Valencia

(My last comment was directed at Barbara. Well said Barbara!)

  42. Ramsey

More over paid famous people complaining about fans. Get iver it, you are leaving because the film was made for a 13 year old. It’s trash

  43. Jayne1955

It wasn’t the best Marvel movie ever but it wasn’t the worst. I enjoyed watching Jane die. I love Natalie, but not in that role.

  44. RRRRRRRRRRRRICH

Epic & Hilarious….Thank you Taika Waititi and everyone else involved. I absolutely loved this movie and was surprised I loved it more than Ragnarok.

  45. Gordon

“Love and Thunder” was more like “Bore and Blunder.” It totally sucked and the director should be charged with “Crimes Against Filmmaking.” So glad ge’s not returning to inflict further damage upon Odinson.

  46. Concerned

There’s this misconception that LGBTQ is not a sex act that a person chooses to do and therefore can choose to stop. Claiming that LGBTQ is genetic like your skin color doesn’t make logical sense, because you can’t change your racial make up, but you can stop an LGBTQ act anytime. Though like other addictions, it may be difficult to change a LGBTQ habit, it should be doable with proper training.

Even if LGBTQ is really genetic, it can still be stopped by the perpetrator. Flasher, sex with children, desiring your neighbor’s wife, killing your enemies …. are built in some people’s genes but do they always act out on whatever their genes tell them to do, or do they control their impulses in civil society? In short, LGBTQ is a choice with many harmful consequences, including infertility, and therefore must not be promoted as a normal life style (ie, to be adopted equally as the straight lifestyle) to gullible kids.

  47. KMAN

As a big fan of MCU , over there last few endeavors I’ve had nothing but disappointment, I keep telling myself they’ll come back with a really great movie but ever sense this massive catering to everything in what a small few consider correctness has distroyed MCU .
At this point I can careless if I see another MCU MOVIE .

  48. Ann

My cousin hated the movie. I think that anyone wanting to direct a Marvel movie should read the comic books first. I am a huge Marvel fan. Thor is not a comedy neither is the Hulk! Marvel needs to stay true to their origins and not become the fuzzy feely characters that they are sadly being morphed into..

  49. Denny

Absolutely a horrible Thor. Over acting while trying to be too funny. It was simply horrendous. The worst marvel movie hands down. Maybe one of the worst movies ever. Sad cause Thor Ragnorok was my favorite Marvel movie. Sad sad scrub movie, the new Thoe

  50. StrangeDuckling

Love and Thunder felt like they found an old, cheesey Thor screenplay written in the 80s, and then they decided to make that exact screenplay into a movie but with modern visual/special effects.

  51. Valencia

Love & thunder was hilarious & fun. In general Marvel has lost direction after the Thanos arc was finished, that’sacross the board. If the director wants to move on to keep things fresh that’s fine, but in my opinion the 1st and 2nd Thor movies were basically unwatchable. Ragnarok was a masterpiece, so I thank him for it. Ignorant haters who throw around the term woke for every movie that gives 5 minutes of screen time to people who aren’t straight white cis men can keep crying, their salty tears are delicious!

  52. JDork

Awesome movie, and director. Taika is a genius. All you haters forget the Thor was almost ruined by dark world. He completely brought it back with ragnarok. If you don’t like Taika then you just don’t have a good sense of humor. Plain and simple. And for the “woke” crowd out there, shut your mouths your coming off as stupid. I’m straight, white and cis gender if you wanna call it that and I absolutely love pretty much everything Taika does. One last thing, Marvel, please stop casting Natalie Portman. I really like her as an actor but she really sucks in Thor movies. Kinda hard to watch.
