My name is Gordon and I was at The Magic Kingdom during Hurricane Gordon. Although there were some high wind gusts there was little rain.
I went through Buzz Lightyear, exited, and got right back in. While traveling on the PeopleMover I passed through Space Mountain and all
the lights were on and people were being evacuated along the catwalks.
Although there was some disruption things were mostly going smoothly.
My family and I were at Disney World for the week, staying at The Polynesian Village, in 1999 when Floyd was approaching. When the announcement was made they were closing early and would be closed the next day, we decided to go home. We were sorry we left after learning there was very little impact.
My daughter was stuck there with my brother and mother during Irma and they just closed the hotel dining area and said they were sending staff home! Not a magical experience
We were not there for the actual Hurricane Elena in 1985, but arrived the day after. You could have fired a cannon down Main Street and not hit anyone. Peter Pan’s Ride was my 3-year-old’s favorite and they let us stay on the ride to ride again because there was no one in line! It was my first of many trips to Disney. Needless to say, I got a mistaken impression of what the crowds we were like.

Disney is apart of Florida. So they will get hit by a hurricane.

Slow moving storm hundreds of miles wide dumps a lotta rain.
Some predict eye may move literally at ‘walking pace’.
Roads in Disney World may be flooded here and there.
Magic Kingdom actually built atop a one storey building.
May need to continuously pump ‘backstage’ level under the park as lake levels in the area rise.
Amphib cars may make getting around park easier, eh?
