You have a weird definition of “major backlash”

I know right, these articles are ridiculous. One person commented and 300 people shared it!!!! My god, what will the Emmy folks ever do about the outrage.

      1. Ryan

Jessica Walter passed away too. So kind of kills that argument. I did feel like her performance as Mallory Archer was better though.

  2. Also feels like Emmy Awards is milking Boseman and MCU for attention and relevance.

The reality is, black panther, as with all marvel movies, are just ok movies – might be good comic adaptation but definitely not great movies…

Depends on who you are. Was awesome to me.

    It’s all politics.
This is an election year and if a party thinks it will help them win power, they will use it no matter how terrible or destructive. Boseman did win it because he was a successful black actor that died far too early. But that is not what an Oscar is supposed to be awarded for and that is why people are dissing it.
Some people are still able to recognize gaslighting when they hear it.

What do the emmys have to do with who gets elected? Have you ever actually had anyone tell you that an emmy influenced their vote?

    2. CJA

If you didn’t notice, Anthony Hopkins won the Academy Award the year he and Boseman were nominated, so put a cork in your ridiculous remarks.

    3. Monica Johnson

Please delete your post. You sound ignorant. Oscars are not the same as an Emmy.

    4. Michael

Read about the history of awards like these. They are all subject to internal politics. They are popularity awards

    5. Philly

This is nothing new. The awards have always been PC. Especially in the past 20 years.

    Just another day in
the “HATING THAT A BLACK MAN HAS BEEN REWARDED” for his very “DESERVED” and ”HIGHLY RESPECTED “ career and legacy in this AMERIKKKAN society and mindset !!!!! What tf else is new ? Y’all need to sweep in front of your own lawns before you go sweeping others lawns !!!!! Drink water and mind your businesses!!!! Y’all just CAN’T STAND the fact that a BLACK MAN can be successful, smart, and rich can y’all? It’s pathetic and it’s very telling of y’all as a person !!!! Ain’t happy in life so you have to shyte on others success !!!! 🙄🙄🙄Y’all are just jealous af and mad af that Chadwick Boseman has been rewarded for a job well done !!!!! Do y’all want your milk 🥛 and 🍪’s ????? Immature ah’s

      Haters come a dime a dozen and they’re poo-poo heads. 🤣

Boseman lost the Best Actor award to Anthony Hopkins in 2020 this is probably the Academy wanting to give him a posthumous consolation prize and this one episode of What If? was all that was left .

The episode itself isn’t very good it basically make T’Challa into a Gary Stu .

Its not much of a backlash either just a minor Twitter storm. Its about time you people in the media realized Twitter is not representative of the population as a whole .

Sorry that wasn’t meant as a reply to your comment . Posted here by mistake .

      2. CJA

The Emmys and Oscars are two separate entities.

    3. BLee

But yet Jeffrey Wright who is also *checks notes* black, and did a wonderful job as The Watcher, didn’t win?

      So…..

    4. Steve

      You need to get clean.

    5. bananas

I’m sorry, but it looks like most of the comments are from black people.
So that argument just isn’t valid.

  6. Jayne1955

He did the work and he did it well. Let him have the emmy. I’m sure it’s very comforting to his family.

  7. Lee

Whether he was deserving or not, let’s face it, it’s hard to compete with a deceased person. It’s really unfair to the other nominees in the category. Maybe the parameters should be changed and a special posthumous award could be given while leaving the regular awards to those that are still here. Those voters that are sympathetic to someone who has passed away and want to honor their memory won’t be able to vote for that person simply based on the fact that they’ve died.

    1. R3

Except you don’t know that. For all we know, his family might look at it as a reminder that he’s gone rather than proof of his work.

Yet I heard no griping that Heath Ledger had passed when he won many accolades for his brilliant performance as The Joker.

  8. FU

And I said what tf I said too 🤷🏽‍♀️ Deal with it !!!!!

  9. TT

So social media is the judge of all judges now. This article is ridiculous. That crossover episode was FIRE! And that’s why he won. The people standing back criticizing have never suffered one day in their lives and that’s why it’s so easy for them to stand back and talk smack. 🤦🏾‍♀️ In the might words of the great late James Brown, “‘Say it loud, “I’m Black and I’m proud!'”

I mean… all academy awards are worthless. I don’t see why this one is any different.

  13. These people are so cruel they should go to hell have some respect dammit

  14. Mikey

The interesting thing is, there were two deceased people nominated for the award.

  15. Josh

So, the total of “major backlash” was like 400 people in the reactions of the 3 or 4 tweets. That’s not even a backlash.
There are about 83 million Americans, and the Emmy’s are American.
So it should read: .00000005% of all American Twitter users are upset.
Or: .000000001% of Americans are mad.
That’s like the number of people that go into a grocery store in one day. F this website.

    1. Josh

It was supposed to read 83 million American Twitter users.

  16. Tim

If we’re going there, then the title of “greatest Joker ever” was only given to Heath Ledger for the same reason. Dark Knight wasn’t even his last movie

  17. Jeff

Finally people are speaking up and not fearing saying anything negative just because of their race. He was good but not Emmy worthy on this one.

  18. Linda L. Camacho

Everyone has their favorites and would like to have them win. Some of us will be happy and others will be disappointed. Remarks such as some of these are not worthy of adults who should be up late enough to see the awards.

  19. Lauree

He should have won anacademy award to begin with!

  20. Axel

I don’t have any problem with this because yes they may have just given the award because he passed away but now there’s even more for his family to look at and be proud of his accomplishments.

  21. MH

What the hell is wrong with all of you….
