You’re right, we shouldn’t be complaining about a black Little Mermaid–
We should be complaining about a well-behaved Pinocchio who DOESN’T get into mischief, doesn’t drown after showing courage saving his dad from the whale, and doesn’t even turn into a real boy, because Dad accepts him for just the wooden way he is…
The Little Mermaid as told by Hans Christian Anderson is not the tale told by Disney. They should give it another name and then do what they want. If they choose to portray it as a black girl fine then it opens any black character being given to anyone of another ethnic group. Danes are typically blind or redhead with light skin. Stop hijacking other cultures
As for Pocahontas. I thought it was a disgusting twist of history. Fortunately we had gone to Virginia that summer and my daughters were able to hear the true story. First she was 14 and later married Thomas Wolfe not John Smith.
As for believing that Christ was blind with blue eyes. I fortunately realized that there was no truth to that as a kid. One of the reasons I no longer go to an organized church. A major falsehood. Plus his mother was a minor. That would make his father a pediphile at todays standard.
Oookay – so people are upset about a fantastical character who doesn’t even exist in real life?
Disney changed all the fairy tales to make them less gruesome and more happily ever after. I’ve read all of them and the movies haven’t destroyed my enjoyment of the stories.

Why shouldn’t we be complaining about a black washed Little Mermaid? Because you said so? Too bad. This is rac.ist. The character is white.

Not just America, Europe as well. This is more than just pandering, it is propaganda for an ethnic cleansing already underway.
