“Song of the South, which is extremely controversial as many deem it racist.”
Did you even see the movie? The movie takes place after the American Civil War and abolition of slavery. The cast and Walt Disney defended the film. Floyd Norman, a Disney Legend took a large crowd of African Americans to a private screening of Song the South and they loved it. Seriously, after all the crap that’s on TV today, you thinks this movie is a problem??? Nick Stewart’s daughter is against the re-theme and defends that movie. Uncle Remus is viewed as a hero. James Baskett is the first African American to win the Academy award for it. Funny how a rabbit outsmarting a Fox and a bear attraction bothers a small group of crazies on Twitter. What’s next, get rid of Haunted Mansion because it’s offensive to dead people???!!! Splash Mountain is the most iconic ride. No one has a problem with it. I was on it a month ago and there were all races waiting in line to go on it. I saw 70 African Americans waiting on line. I talked to a couple and they think the re-theme is ridiculous and stupid. #SaveSplashMountain
