It seems odd. Although Brie Larson is a talented actress the Capt. Marvel character seemed significantly flat and the layer of ‘power’ seemed to make matters worse since she didn’t seem have to struggle with issues of strength, technique, strategy or tactics as if she is nothing more than a macguffen used to ‘Magic’ a solution or victory for the heroes.
I believe people tend to like more feet-on-the-ground protagonists. Magic is fun but physical struggle and problem solving seem more engaging.
Maybe, but she hasn’t been shown as that just yet (outside of her own movie) quite simply in Endgame many people had concerns regarding her part in it. Many were worried she would pull a Superman like in Josstice League where the big bad Steppinwolf was mopping the floor with the rest of the League until Superman showed up and 5 punches from him later the movie ends with them winning. But in Endgame when Captain Marvel fights Thanos she gets WRECKED, he punches her with the power stone and shes done the rest of the movie like we don’t see her again until Iron mans funeral at the end. So sure she has been hyped up power wise but I would go as far as to say shes a macguffen at this moment shes on level with the likes of Thor, Wanda, Strange etc…
Scarlet Witch is a glass cannon, a glass cannon refers to a character that has remarkable offensive abilities with terrible defense. Wanda’s powers are far beyond than most but at the same time she can be killed by just a random civilian with a gun.
This is another nonstop driven by a few people’s hatred of Brie Larson. There are no hints that Captain Marvel is going anywhere except to Captain Marvel 3 and the next couple of Avengers films. If you applied the twisted logic used for Brie Larson on every other case member, there is no one in the Marvel Universe who couldn’t be used to eliminate the entire cast.
I do think THE MARVELS points to a deepening of the trend of creating team ups as often as possible. I definitely think Captain Marvel will be around for a Galactus film, since she is both one of the few space-based characters and one of the very few who wouldn’t get squashed in two seconds against the big guy. I think she will also be around for an all-female team up, as she has been used in the comics.
She shouldn’t be replaced . She did good in the role. Actually better than her make counter parts in their first time out as their perspective hero’s . It’s not her fault the script was pretty full . All in all on the rewatch the movie is pretty good . And her introduction into endgame was off the chain. By that time she is recognized as Captain marvel , now…..just as Chris Evans is captain America now . The characters sometimes take time to grow into the role

Christian Bale Says Hollywood (and the World) Would Be Better If ‘White Dudes’ Weren’t in Charge of Everything The actor says there would be “so much better films and so much more interesting stories” if white dudes weren’t running Hollywood. Zack Sharf Dec 19, 2017
Christian Bale has had enough of “white guys” running everything in Hollywood and beyond. The actor stopped by AOL Build with his “Hostiles” co-star Rosamund Pike and Wes Studi on December 18 and told the crowd that the reason he moved to the U.S. in the first place was because he wanted his kids to grow up in a “country of inclusion.” Unfortunately, that ideal hasn’t been too much of a reality.
“Our culture will be so much richer the day that we stop saying, ‘Hey, it’s all white dudes who are running things,’” Bale said. “Whether that be Hollywood, whether that be Washington, you know. We’re going to get, in Hollywood, so much better films and so much more interesting stories being told and America will become the America that the rest of the world sees it as, that makes it unique…that we recognize makes this such a beautiful, brilliant country.”
Judging by the sheer amount of photos Brie is posting on Instagram of herself in reduced clothing tends to signal that her agent is having troubles finding her gigs outside of Marvel. Such is life for *any* talent that doesn’t resonate well in the public eye. Perhaps she should spend more time in fan engagement and charitable causes and post that on Instagram instead.
Brie Larson’s next projects include: The Marvels (lead,, Lessons In Chemistry (producer, lead), Life Undercover (producer, lead), Growing Up (producer, narrator, director), Being Ram Dass (producer), Lady Business (lead, director, producer), Untitled Disney project (lead), Untitled Drama feature (lead, producer).
Larson has also continued her work with the Equal Justice Initiative, Women’s Equality, and HRC.

If Brie is going to exit, then I really wish they would do the Rogue storyline where she goes to different dimensions to escape Rogue just to have the same fate. That would be a great way for the character to exit.
cowardly rogue ambushed ms marvel whilst she was trying to stop a passenger plane full of women children from crashing and killing all 100 passengers onboard … like how homelander in the boys tv show let the plane crash killing all onboard, why would you want this in an mcu movie???
Captain Marvel made a billion dollars, so anyone positing that she might be out soon is out of their minds. Ant-Man made half that and his third movie is coming soon. They’re adding characters into the sequel because the first one made a billion dollars and they know that this will be a great way to promote other characters for future use.
captain america civil war and captain america winter soldier both had added characters in it like the black panther, spiderman , iron man, wanda, war machine etc…lots and lots of added mcu marvel characters were added to both captain america movies

In Marvel mythology, Captain Marvel is the legacy of Mar-vell. Carol was his girlfriend and got her powers straight from him, becoming Ms Marvel. Monica Rambeau had nothing to do with him, and was named CM only for retaining copyright on the name. Carol was the right choice.
nia da costa is very pro black and since monica rambeau was the first female captain marvel in the comics and is cannon as she said on the tedd lasso interview with Brett Goldstein multiple times… she nia dacosta used her opportunity as the director of captain marvel 2 to strip captain marvel off the the title of the movie and just call it the marvels… instead of calling it ‘captain marvel 2 the marvels’ The one thing nia dacosta seems to forget is that wasp from ant man was the first avenger in the comics and the first leader of the avengers…yet Evangeline Lilly has never complained that she should have rightly been the leader of the avengers instead of iron man and captain america rightfully so….and that this is cannon…cannon as nia da costa seems to be obsessed with….Put some respect on Carol Danvers. And Monica shouldn’t be sharing a title. How about giving her a solo movie!
the title change from captain marvel 2 the marvel to just the marvels was 100% nia da costa’s idea not the mcu or kevin feige or marvel or disney…..it was all nia dacosta ..and since phase 4 kevin feige has given full power to the directors of the movies unlike phase 1 to 3 where he withheld the full control from the directors
when you listen to some of nia da costa’s candyman interviews and even her captain marvel 2 interviews..she is very pro-black ..and didn’t like candyman killing mainly blacks in the original candyman movie..so she course corrected this in her new candyman movie….monica rambeau was originally captain marvel and the 2nd leader of the avengers after WASP even though most forget that it was wasp not monica rambeau who was the first avenger and first leader too..nia da costa mentioned this a few times in interviews…i believe that it was nias da costa and teyonah parris that changed the title to the marvels…not the mcu or kevin feige….in phase1,2, 3 the mcu controlled everything..but since phase 4 they’ve given all powers to the directors…….
American actress Elizabeth Olsen shocked the world with her testimony about Serbia. She was in Serbia and “recommended” that no one should ever go there. “Actually there is nothing unique about Serbian because they have only been their country for about 13 years. They have nothing of their own, they just take away from those who have occupied their land at some point,” said the actress, who is obviously not a fan of Books and education, but no culture. “Serbs have no manners, they talk non-stop,” said Elizabeth. What everyone noticed was the host’s laugh as he listened to the actress make scandalous statements. Incidentally, the interview with the actress was published on YouTube in 2020 and is now being distributed on social networks. Then the actress tried to “justify” ; herself, but continued to bury herself. – It’s a very interesting place. We filmed there 6 days a week and only had one day off. It is particularly interesting that nothing belongs to them there, as the country was only founded 13 years ago. They are a combination of everyone who ruled their country before – she said and showed that in more than four months in Serbia she has learned nothing about the history of our country. However, it is evident that not long ago in 2012 actress Elizabeth Olsen forgot what she was talking about when she was in Serbia because the film “Teresa Raken” was being made. Little was known about Elizabeth Olsen’s stay in Belgrade, as the main job of the production is to protect the stars as much as possible and not to bring them into contact with the media during filming. However, she then wrote several messages on her Twitter profile showing that she is shooting a film in Belgrade all day and that she is very fond of the city.
To say anyone doesn’t have a right to an opinion because the color of their skin is abhorrent. Good thing Brie didn’t say white males don’t have the right to an opinion because of the colour of their skin. She cited statistics and shared her opinion. Which she’s entitled to too. That opinion being when she stated what she doesn’t need. And what she doesn’t need being a 40 yr old white dude to tell her what didn’t work for him about a Wrinkle in time, over a critic from the intended target demographic of the film.
Its cool that you enjoyed A Wrinkle in Time. That film directed by Ava DuVernay may have been accessible to you but was not made FOR you. She had teens in mind before you. She had females in mind before you. She had black viewers in mind, before you. (I’m assuming you’re white). None of this takes away from your enjoyment. Just saying that films are made for non white male audiences too and that they should be covered by a field of non white males that is proportionate to the general population. Check out the whole thing dude. She mentions everything you would want to hear from her.
A Wrinkle in Time was a film that’s target audience was NOT 40 yr old white dudes. The press who got to review that film leaned heavily in that demographic. A balanced field of journalists would have gotten a variety of eyes on that film. Resulting in the target audience’s perspective reaching the public. Brie Larson only made a rude comment, if you take a clip out of context and ignore the whole point of her speech
You think she came up with this concept but that’s not the case. If you go on wiki under “african american cinema” and read the first sentence, it says “made for”. Hate the game, not the player.
Golden Globes’ HFPA Promise to Have ‘Black Journalists in Our Organization’ After Backlash
A report from the L.A. Times highlighted the lack of diversity in the governing body over the Golden Globe Awards
By Ale Russian February 28, 2021 08:52 PM
Have you ever read a movie review and felt like it completely missed the point (and the magic!) of a film you love? Brie Larson apparently has, and is offering a tangible, achievable solution to these misguided reviews: a more diverse pool of film critics. At the Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, Brie spoke about the importance of greater representation in criticism, which would hopefully lead to increased representation in the films themselves.
The saying, “When you’re accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression,” applies a lot these days, but it feels especially–and unfortunately–relevant in the conversations around “Captain Marvel.” Star Brie Larson has made reasonable and refreshing calls for inclusivity in the press access around the Marvel Cinematic Universe film, which some dudes have taken (wrongly) to mean “no white men” allowed in the club house–a club house that they’ve guarded for, oh, pretty much the entire history of film journalism.
In an interview with the Washington, D.C. FOX station, she clarifies what she meant for anyone who was still confused about her statement
“What I’m looking for is to bring more seats up to the table,” the Oscar-winning actress said when asked by the interviewer about the angry response. “No one is getting their chair taken away. There’s not less seats at the table, there’s just more seats at the table.” Those offended by her statements have taken to the internet with their ire, most recently on Rotten Tomatoes.
There they’ve tried to tamp down excitement for the film with negative user reviews, which seems like a less-than-effective strategy as well as a poor use of their time, but you do you, trolls. By contrast, early reviews by those who have actually seen the movie are generally glowing
m she u??? d she u??? in the comics it was wasp a female who created the avengers and was their first leader JANET VAN DYNE WASP Janet Van Dyne, daughter of world-renowned scientist Vernon Van Dyne, is a founding member and long time leader of the Avengers, with the ability to shrink, fly and control insects…SO it should be called the M HE U not the m she u ……using the same logic since the mcu took the leadership from a woman and gave it to 2 men iron man and captain america
Elizabeth Olsen now she’s being called out for using racial slurs. As you may know, the 31 year-old doesn’t use social media, ironically after deleting her Instagram account last year when Marvel fans began spamming all of her previous posts to criticize her for not paying tribute to co-star Chadwick Boseman quickly enough following his death, which is simply madness. The latest backlash, though, stems from Olsen describing Wanda Maximoff as a gypsy, which has been deemed offensive to those of Romani origin. She previously used the term in a 2015 interview with talk show host Graham Norton, who told her it’s a phrase she shouldn’t be using. Apparently, though, the actress has made another slip of the tongue, with social media users rounding on her in double quick time

and then………hey chris hemsworth please let brie larson finish her sentences before you interrupt ………..her last words were AND THEN……….so she had more to say….more to explain…….ok chris hemsworth? do you now understand??
no-one finishes a sentence by saying “AND THEN…” she hadn’t finished what she was saying before chris hemsworth interrupted her mid sentence…she was going to explain her stunts story to them before he interruptted her… then attacked her and made fun of her..also why are both guys ganging up on her? that’s not fair..and they ganged up on her the whole day for 24 hours..no wonder she is fed up
Even in his fifties, Tom Cruise continues to wow audiences by doing dangerous stunts. Still, he doesn’t go “all the way” in many cases; he does have a stunt double, whom he has worked with on several major action films including Jack Reacher and Knight and Day. Casey O’Neill is Cruise’s stunt double and takes over for the actor when something becomes a bit too risky for the veteran star to attempt.
“Contextomy” refers to the excerpting of words from their original linguistic context in a way that distorts the source’s intentions. Contextomy prompts audiences to form a false impression of the source and contaminates subsequent interpretation when the quote is restored to its original context.
Wire-flying is a theatrical stunt which involves suspending an actor from high-tension wires, normally with a harness concealed under the costume, to simulate the action of flying or falling, especially in the presence of other actors
Omg to all the people continuing to jump on the supposed too powerful captain marvel please stfu and realize how many more stronger villains there will be which the current avengers cannot measure up to not even a little.
Brie is perfect for this character.. she has that attitude you need for one of the strongest MCU member. She human enough to be relatable . And since she’s only had one feature movie it’s not like she growing to grow out like the dozens of Spider-Men
Is it really surprising that a character would have a new actor step in to take over the role? Look at who was the first MCU Jim Rhodes, or who originally played the Hulk before Ruffalo. Having another actor to take over the roll should be expected, and I will even go as far as claim that it could even happen with Iron Man, so reading about Brie Larson being replaced is not really surprising.
They’re replacing her because most people hate her character and Marvel knows as long as she’s in the role the movie won’t sell. Liberal media can make every excuse in the book why she’s being replaced but the fact is making money is number 1 on Disney’s agenda and their liberal push comes second. Everyone knows that Disney knows they made a HUGE mistake killing Tony Stark and now the sales will forever suffer because of it. Can’t believe they thought Brie could replace him… joke

Casey O’Neill is TOM Cruise’s stunt double and takes over for the actor when something becomes a bit too risky for the veteran star to attempt.

John
They’re replacing her because most people hate her character and Marvel knows as long as she’s in the role the movie won’t sell. Liberal media can make every excuse in the book why she’s being replaced but the fact is making money is number 1 on Disney’s agenda and their liberal push comes second. Everyone knows that Disney knows they made a HUGE mistake killing Tony Stark and now the sales will forever suffer because of it. Can’t believe they thought Brie could replace him… joke

Ignorant!! Captain Marvel made 1.1+ billion.. You can stay home!

Some characters bare written white. 🤷🏻 Don’t be a hater runs both ways. What if they cast black panther as a white guy? All HELL WOULD BREAK Loose.
Rene
They would be so stupid if they do. You do not replace the perfect Captain Marvel.
