When a Karen runs your state…

      Wow… ignorance is bliss.

      1. AH

That is until there are consquences.

    2. Chris

Umm, actually, Disney is trying to be the Karen here and insist that sexuality be taught in K-3 grades. As this bill states, this instruction doesn’t belong in the lower grades, it doesn’t matter if it is straight, gay, etc., it is not age appropriate and all this bill does is clarify that. Although that is a very minor point of the bill, the main point of the bill is to clarify what should be taught in each grade and further set state standards.

Disney needs to entertain NOT get into politics. Staff at Disney needs to be friendly and respectful with guests at all times, they’re there to SERVED THE PUBLIC. SHAME on staff members who disrespect guests and SHAME on supervisors who tolerated.

      2. Travis Weberling

@Chris, since WHEN has sexuality been taught to kids in K-3rd grade? It NEVER HAS, just like CRITICAL RACE THEORY HAS NEVER NEEN TAUGHT IN SCHOOL. There’s NO REASON for Desantis to be passing bills that we have no need for in the first place, All Desantis is doing by passing bills like that & the abortion bill is he’s going to get himself VOTED OUT AS GOV come the election.

    3. AH

Gina you obviously a lefty. DeSantis is doing a great job. I am an independent who has voted 85% third party for 40years.

    4. Chris

So he’s a Karen because he thinks parents rights should be protected? I happen to agree with him and there is no need to discuss sexuality or gender with young children.

    5. L. Jen

Just wait till he is president the pedos will be so upset.

Corporate money should not be part of our political process and people should not encourage or demand corporate involvement in politics. Leaders of the Disney organization or any other large institutions should not be calling the shots regarding our democracy.

Please, can we have less politics in our Disney Entertainment? Can we have fewer (or none) big corporations influencing our elections, laws and rights? Otherwise we may end up with little girls being banned from dressing as Cinderella and little boys banned from dressing like Jack Sparrow because they are not PC. We could end up with Exxon, AT&T, Google and Facebook dictating our government.

Please ladies and gentlemen, think this through carefully. Bandwagons are dangerous things when people blindly jump on them.

    1. Chris

I agree, in fact, most political fundraising should be banned and candidates should be limited to a maximum of say $10,000 per campaign period for spending. Get money out of politics.

    2. Pretty in my cowboy boots

Can little girls dress like Jack Sparrow and little boys dress like Cinderella? That is Disneys ultimate goal, world cross dress domination. Muhahahaha.

    3. Sandy

Amen, finally someone say it! Thank you!
Disney is there to entratain us, guests with at most respect and courteous ways NOT for getting their noses where IT DOESN’T BELONG!

    4. Travis Weberling

Victor, the main why the suits at Disney are butting into this bill situation is because over HALF of their employees in their respective parks are in the gay community & have to speak out on their employees behalf because if they don’t, there could be a walkout of the Employees at Disney World, Epcot & etc over the issue.

  3. Disney should have zero, none, influence on schools– are they or are not an entertainment company!?

    1. Anonymous

Disney has unrespectful and careless employees. NEED TO EMPLOY MORE TIME IN TRAINING ON “THE ETHIQUETTE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE” and not putting their minds and energy where it doesn’t belong [politics] for example.
      More KIND SERVICE IS EXPECTED!!

      1. FL Resident

Less kind people visiting Disney is also a problem! People come to FL and act like d*** fools and idiots acting out at Disney. I agree with the workers sometimes being disrespectful back to the a******* that visit!

  4. AH

Obviously the vast majority of people do not know what is actually in the bill. Not one person lost any rights or has less freedom than before the bill was signed. Parents have more rights now to know just what the leftist education establishment is trying to stuff into their children’s head. Children are the vanguard of the future is a Maxist/Lenist statement and their goal is to indoctrinate them so they can win the future.

  5. Near

Time to boycott Florida for its hateful rhetoric .

    1. Chris

I’m sure they’ll be fine if you don’t visit their beautiful and free state.

    2. Jd

Buy Felicia! We are full, we don’t need you.

  6. I do not want my young grandchildren being taught about sexual “choices.” As a Christian, I know many people make choices that are not in accordance with God’s plan. Parents are responsible for teaching their children what the Bible says, not what man chooses. God loves us all, but we need to obey his commands.

    1. Chris

I’m an atheist but I agree with everything you said. Well once religion is taken out of it. Our public schools shouldn’t be controlled by corporations or religions. It should be controlled by parents.

  7. Mike R

If I were him, I would close Disney forever, show them who’s boss. Just demolish the entire property and sell it to some casino properties.

    1. Travis Weberling

@Mike R, if Desantis did that, all that cause is more people being unemployed & therefore causing even more people to be not just on unemployment, BUT ALSO foodstamps & etc, in other words it wouldn’t solve anything by shutting Disney down, they bring ALOT of $ into the state.

  8. I love Disney

Disney doesn’t mean anything when they express support for the Don’t Say Gay Bill. They are not trying to overrule the governor. Disney is just pretending to be woke to look good. At the end of the day, Disney couldn’t care less about the bill. What Disney cares about is to raise prices, reduce benefits, and increase profit. For example, Disney’s talking about the bill helps people forget that the Magic Express is gone.

    1. Just stop already

It’s not the don’t say gay bill… 🤦🏻‍♀️ That’s the lefts rhetoric to slam DeSantis. To try and get the LGBTQ community against him. When in fact it’s about parents rights, and stops ALL sexual education out of K-3
I’m originally from California and it’s disgusting what they are teaching our kindergartners! The school board in Cali is full of perverts. And parents rights are demolished there. With this bill Florida will Not follow in Californias foot steps.

  9. Fishnet

Ron DeSantis does not speak or represents all of Florida’s citizens. His Bully mentality allows a belief that as the elected governor of Florida only his personal decisions and opinions are right and he knows everything that is best for everyone.

    1. Tired of ignorance

How do you get that? This whole bill gives parents the right to decide how their children are educated! It’s not being a bully at all. Being a bully is forcing someone to believe what you do! Nothing in this legislation is negative toward the LGBTQ+ community and if people read it they would know that.

  10. AmericanbyGod

Governor DeSantis is my hero. We need more governors like him, just like we need Donald Trump back in the White House. The only people that really want to fight this bill are those that wish to brainwash children and rob them of their innocence. Kids that young are not even close to being ready to learning about any kind of sexuality. Whatever the reason to result in someone becoming LGBTQOICU812 it was not natural. Their whole being is because a man and a woman procreated to bring them into existence. Not from two men or two women laying together. Which brings me back to a previous post…no one is born gay, no one is born a trans. It is something learned or persuaded from peers. Maybe they had their heart broke and gave up on the opposite sex, maybe they were sexually abused as a child, maybe they just had no luck dating, maybe they feel like an outcast and need a sense of belonging…whatever the reason, that’s their choice and deep down they know its wrong. So pushing it on other people makes them feel better about themselves and the way they have chosen to live. That’s all fine and good, but they need to keep their relationships private, no one wants to see it. This bill is doing nothing to hurt the gay community. It is to protect children that are developing from any influence other than what God intended. That bill really should cover children K-6. I am so glad it passed and hope more states follow the fine example DeSantis is setting.

As a father of two and a member of the LGBTQ+ (aka Alphabet Mafia) I think calling this the “dont say gay” bill is more offensive/stupid than what it actually addresses. Its not about sexual preference. It is about teaching sex ed (using that as an umbrella term) in elementary schools. Teaching them age-relevant content from a high-level fine…like the difference between boys/girls, but more importantly that it is ok to tell an adult if anyone touches them in a bad way.

Educating our kids about life, their body, and so on is not solely a function of the school either. It is a duty of the parents to teach and educate them as well and I feel like a lot of parents just take the easy way out to let the school teach and call it good.

When I was married to my ex, we each explained things to the kids, as they needed to know according to their age. Every child is different so if they come to you saying they dont feel like their gender, we as parents need to decide is this the right time to talk about it, or should we table that for later on down the road. I can say that if my lower elementary kid came to me saying that, I would pick their brain and see whats going on. What is making them think/feel this way, then decide on what to do. It could be something like them being teased at school because his voice sounds to “girly” for all we know. As they get into 5th/6th grade/middle school and their body starts to change rapidly then have a deeper conversation, and yes at that time I would include sexuality/sexual preferences because they are going to have physical and physiological changes that may or may not agree with each other. If the kids wanted to become transgender, we would talk that out too and come up with a game plan on how to approach it. If they are determined on committing to it, you have my support but no surgery will be taking place until you are 18 years old and out of the school environment, free from any peer pressure/teasing/etc.

  12. JACALYN C ANDERSON-BURNS

We need more strong politicians like DeSantis. You idiots who think that he said don’t say gay are ignorant. It was never said and it’s not what the bill is about. It is about not teaching our young children about sex before they’re ready. Get over it we shall not bend for 1% of the population when it has nothing to do with that. This is about not sexualizing our young children before they’re in puberty.

  13. That is the very reason to add this new law. They were going to. The k thru 3 Rd grade has many more important issues to be taught. Like reading, writing, colors, shapes, animals etc…… If parents want this taught… Well then be a Parent! Indoctrination at its finest.

    1. Tracy

It really should be nicknamed the “Don’t Be A Pedo Bill”. Why are all these people so angry that they can’t discuss sex with six-year-olds?! We should really be concerned about anyone working with children that is so vehemently opposed to the bill.

  14. Christy

Sadly here in Florida, last school year, my then Kindergartener was taught about INCEST & other sexual ideas in public school. After their unit in class, sent home was a follow up work sheet that had a picture of a body & on the flip side questions such as, “if you’re at a family gathering & your uncle touches you…” you get the point… The children were suppose to respond in writing to this question & handful of other age inappropriate questions that A SCHOOL SHOULD NEVER be involved in teaching a 5 year old, let alone my child!!! This bill is a solution to some of the vile-perversion that has entered the schooling system.
