Guess we should blame Gza first. He sampled it on “Liquid Swords” in 1995.

What a joke, this whole article is based on an opinion and not in fact. It’s definitely not a favorite scene.

If this bothered people, just wait until they see Kurosawa’s Hidden Fortress

“Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery” – it’s also a fine line that might lead to plagiarism as well I guess. Some are offended because of the Dune “rip-offs”, now this. I’m just sitting back enjoying the show – both on and off screen.

If you think modern films, books, or TV shows draw zero influence from classic stories, then you are woefully uninformed of those classics and should really re-evaluate your worldview with regards to literature and mythology.

Ugh, seriously. Stop being offended by everything. Many filmmakers have done homage scenes before.

People need to chill out. This is how you pay your respects to your inspirations. People nowadays are completely clueless. Like seriously? These movies with Jedi and the force is such a nod to the Samari and Chi. That has always been pointed out and Lucas even said if himself. Not nothing new and NO I don’t think he went to far, I think it was done perfectly. The season finale was fire. Can’t wait for season 3 of The Mandalorian. Grogu is back with Din. Yay!!!! He chose the same way Luke did when he was training.

I was “orphaned” at a young age, sent to live with relatives, and when I hit puberty an old man showed up and told me I was really special and gifted me a phallic symbol…a magic sword! Sound familiar?

    1. Harry Potter

It sure does! EXACTLY the same thing happened to me! Except the phallic symbol the old wizard gave me was a magic wand.

I got a light saber…what are the odds?

So when a hack like Tarantino does it he’s considered a ‘genius’ but people (same ones who probably give Quentin a pass) are up in arms over this? SMH.

Star Wars is literally a rip off of like every Samurai movie ever. You people should actually read about things before they complain. So ignorant.

I am not linking to this information. It’s literally been known for years and admitted by Lucas himself.

Darth Vader is LITERALLY a Space-Samurai.

    Oh my god.
