There was a time when a minimum wage part time teen could afford entry to these parks. Now it costs a middle class single 2+ days income. PT Barnum famously said “there’s a sucker born every minute” I’m not a sucker! What I get from these parks isn’t worth the price especially WOKE Marxist Disney.

    1. Good, if you can’t leave your political BS outside of the parks, normal folks don’t want to have to deal with your kind. Darren’s and Karen’s like you should stay out of public if you can’t handle the changes in society.

If we’re paying more for a premuim experience or an enhanced service, these parks need to deliver on their promise. “Premium Guests” have lots of options. Fail to deliver and we go elsewhere.

  3. With everyone complaining about long lines for rides and food/drink services, it looks as though the parks really had no choice, but to go with this new marketing plan. Fewer people in the parks, shorter lines. The other important thing to look at, is the type of guests the parks will draw now. Much less, if any at all, trouble-makers. Parks will be a lot safer without the riff-raff causing trouble for those who follow the rules, and are there to enjoy the parks.

I guess you assume lower income people are “trouble makers” but people with more money aren’t? Some of the most trouble-making people I know have the most money. There’s plenty of entitled riff raff in the upper class.

Six Flags parks are the lowest quality major parks in the country. Premium they are not. Their parks pale in comparison to Cedar Fair and SeaWorld parks. Good luck to them attracting “premium guests”!

Ticket prices are not the driving force of revenue in theme parks, that position is held by food/drink confessions.
People spend much more money on food drinks etc than they do on the initial ticket price which is a one-time entry fee

Utterly disgusting, gouging consumers for mediocre experiences at Disney parks. Nothing ruins them like getting penny pinched and still have to wait in crowds for everything be it attractions or foods. Boycott it all

Clearly sixflags has lost it with it being a ghost town during most of the week and STILL want to cater to high price paying suckers that aren’t even showing up to begin with.

Six Flags ain’t Disney, or even Cedar Point. We’ll see how this works. I can’t imagine paying a premium price to go to Six Flags Over GA unless they do some major, major upgrades, the first being having a decent parking lot.

Pretty sure Six Flags Over GA showed their hand when they took Monster Plantation and renamed it to Monster Mansion… and used Disney Animation personnel to design the update.

I have grown up going to six flags and now take my family regularly. I’m afraid those days are numbered. We are definitely not premium guests and can’t afford to be. This smells of the same strategy Mark Shapiro tried years ago- no more thrill rides, focus on families, etc. Despite a better financial position I’m not sure this is the direction people are truly wanting. I think a small increase in price and a change of their meal plans would have been an adequate step. What they have done is nuclear.

Reduce the employee that stand around doing nothing. Keep prices as is .

I just hope Six Flags puts the money to good use. I grew up going to Six Flags Over Texas. The last few times I went I was saddened by the state of the park.

Don’t know what you are talking about. The “cast members” at the Disney Parks are overwhelmed because there is not enough of them to help keep the parks running smooth. Plus they don’t pay their employees a living wage. They can lower the amount of people in their parks by limiting the amount of people they allow in the parks which would lower the wait times along with making the day more pleasant for visitors. They won’t because of the Chapek’s & the board’s greed for money. Walt Disney’s concept was to have parks that included everyone, not for just select few. Until people are willing to say that I am not going to the Disney’s parks until the board realizes that people are not going to be coming back to Disney until the board makes sure that the “magic” returns to the parks.Hitting them in pocketbook is the only way the board will understand that we are tired of being treated like cattle.

I grew up going to Disney parks and absolutely loved them. Those are some of my best childhood memories! When I got married in the early 2000s we even did our honeymoon at DisneyWorld with a premium package at the Beach Club resort. I took my kids once in 2015 and I can say without a doubt we are never going back. There is no chance. None of us have even the slightest interest in dealing with the nonsense Disney has created. Most notably, my kids who have no nostalgic memories of the old way didn’t even like the parks. They thought the Yeti coaster was cool but really liked Universal a lot more. There are a plenty of obsessed Disney fans that will pack the parks and keep pumping in money – for now. Most of that is powered by people who have fond memories of how things used to be. Disney truly was magical when I was a kid. Even during my honeymoon is was a great time. We were spontaneous and just picked a restaurant we thought looked good as we walked the parks. Not anymore. Now you have to figure all that out months in advance. It’s not fun and most certainly is not magical. Nobody in my house cares about Disney. We can have a fun vacation just about anywhere. We don’t need their rigid money rake vision of magic. Our best memories last trip were at Universal and our resort pool. Disney was a distant third that rarely comes up. I’m sure they will stay packed and make their money. More power to them. But they won’t get any from my family or future generations.

six flags mgc mtn is my local park. i love it but hate the admission price going up. Fortunately i was lucky to get the diamond membership during the pandemic and nothing changes. i agree with person that said reduce employees thatd stand around doing nothing. and the one who said upgrade their food menu and parking lots.
