Go find yourself a bunker and shelter for the next three years you goon. The rest of us are living our lives. The virus’ ability to grow more virulent is rapidly deteriorating, this is the perfect window of opportunity to quell the harsher characteristics. No one is dying anymore and the vast majority of people, including unvaccinated and partially vaccinated aren’t getting very ill with many reporting no discernible symptoms.
Lol… the death rate from Covid is at an all time low when compared to case numbers…. so yeah, pretty much no one is dying anymore. We’re looking at common cold death rate numbers at this point…
I’m hoping that Disney Genie plus will include the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and the Royal Hall, when the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is available for princess makeovers again and when the Royal Hall is available for meet and greets with Ariel, Snow White and Cinderella again.
All lines used to move so much faster before any fastpass was introduced. At least the first system was not too bad, but it evolved into becoming something quite terrible. This new system is just awful and removes all aspects of just being sporadic and enjoying what the parks have to offer. It’s a theme park – it will have lines. It’s not rocket science. Popular attractions will have lines. It’s life. With Disney trying to make some people happy by giving them front line access, they have largely upset and angered a much larger group. When everything was (recently) standby only, things were much MUCH smoother and faster.
I was in Orlando this past summer. No fastpass or lightning lane, just standby, which moved at a decent speed. Plus it was the week after school started, so even the standby lanes were short, in some cases they were walk ons.
um…The whole point of fast passes and lightning lanes is so you can come back later and go on something else, helping distribute people and allowing the line to shorten for those wanting to wait. Fast pass used to allow you to reserve a spot up to 60 days out. Where are you getting this sporadic thing from? At least lightning lanes you have to wait for that day and only get one pass. I think you just missed the point of these…
I think the lightening lane is complete joke! My daughter and I went to Disneyland back in October, before LL. Lines were long but not bad. If a wait time listed was 45 minutes, it was more like 30. We went back in December after LL was introduced and the wait times were double what was posted because they would allow about 50:1 LL guests compared to standby. It has become a more frustrating experience because of Genie+. So what’s next Disney? Once everyone pays the extra money to use LL, then there will be no shorter wait times to use LL?
Disneyland already costs a small fortune but they just want to keep price gouging their guests. The happiest place on earth has become the most expensive place on earth and feels like the magic is gone! Here is the perfect analogy of Disneyland today: If anyone has seen the movie “Santa Clause 3” when Jack Frost takes over the North Pole and turns it into a commercial, money making, un-magical place, this is what has happened to Disneyland. It’s ridiculous!
I was there just after Genie became available. I sat and watched people walking around with heads down, faces in phones and running into each other. My nephew, 6 yr old, and I began trying to guess who would bump into someone else. Quite a comedy scene. People flipping the bird, saying mean things to each other. Fastpass was easier with pick three so we were not locked into one at a time. Greedy man Chapek ruined the magic for all children. Nephew had a better time at the beach.
At no point are you locked into one for Genie+, but if you pay for a specific ride, that might be different. The only advantage fast pass had was that you can reserve up to 60 days out, which gave those that wanted to have a sudden visit to the park at a bit of a disadvantage.
Just got back from Florida. The whole Genie+ thing was so frustrating! Extra $15/day/person. You can schedule one lightening lane every two hours. Then some of the most desired rides are not included – you have to pay for those lightening lanes individually ($9-$11 each.) THEN there are rides that only have Virtual queues which were separate from Genie+. I tried to schedule Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure (extra $11 each for lightening lane.) It’s virtual queue opened at 7am. When I clicked purchase, it said we could only book it if we were staying at a Disney resort (we weren’t – we stayed at an Airbnb.) It said to try again – virtual queue opens to everyone at 1pm. At exactly 1pm, scheduled the virtual queue and the estimate was 8:59pm (we had to leave for airport by 3pm.) So all 5 days I walked around messing with my phone trying to get the most out of the trip.
2 things I actually liked:
1) mobile food ordering (just pick up without waiting in line.)
2) cute photo filters on the app to play with & ability to do memory maker pictures

If anyone wants to hire me I’d be happy to talk.
I called this happening as soon as it was announced.
