I was stuck on Space Mountain for about 10 minutes. The ride stopped midway, the lights came on, and there was a staff member walking along the tracks making sure we stayed in our car.

It was a bit weird as our car stopped in the tilted position , so we were a bit more uncomfortable. But we got to see the inner workings of the ride.

Same thing happened to me. It really is interesting what’s inside that space. Kind of like a warehouse with tracks.

When they let the cars go, I was surprised at how slowly we just kind of rolled down to the bottom. They offered us a chance to stay and ride again, but I passed.

I remember at Disneyland Park, Anaheim, getting stuck on Pirates of the Caribbean and having a blast! We were so close to the edge I just got off and walked around we looked around, played stupid, touch stuff, then got back in our boat! what the heck was sitting there for like 20min.😄

The first time Disneyland closed down, because of a BIG storm that caused a major power outage (not only at Disneyland but throughout part of Southern California) we were in the Haunted House. It must have been around 1984 or 1985 as my children were about 10 and 6. We were told to stay in our seats until a cast member came and using flashlights escorted us through the Graveyard and walked us to the outside. Cast members then directed people to the park exits. The park closed down and we were given tickets to return. The kids loved it and thought it was a great adventure. Leaving the park and trying to drive north on I-5 without lights on the interstate signs was frightening as it was dark and I wasn’t familiar with the area.

It’s a Small World. Stuck for over 45 minutes to an hour. Sept. 9, 1971, or Sept 7, 1972.
All the boats backed up when a lady exiting a boat slipped and broke a leg falling into the water. Must staff were focused on the injured lady, and did not want to have people trying to exit the ride blocking emergency personnel.

I been to Disney World once and never got trapped on a ride there thank goodness!
On a note: The photo showing incarcerated pirates in a dungeon like place here brings back a childhood memory. This memory involves a classmate of mine in elementary school who had a Disney lunchbox featuring pirates and on that lunch box was that same exact photo shown for the article here! This was back in 1982 when the metal lunchboxes for kids featured the shows, cartoons, characters, movies and games of what was popular back in those days. I also recall one student having an Annie lunchbox and another having ba Return of the Jedi lunchbox with the Death Star on it.
On a note: When I was a child in 1982, one of my big fascinations was dungeons amongst fantasy and sci-fi of back then. I feel that is why I remember this photo so well from back in my childhood days.

Everyone has these experiences more than once if they go regularly. I got stuck at the top of Spaceship Earth at EPCOT for 45 minutes. Had to walk down the entire ball. It was actually fun. Another time, the Carousel of Progress got stuck and we had to watch the Christmas scene about 5 times until it started moving again. That one wasn’t as much fun.

Got stuck in the Haunted Mansion for about twenty minutes right in the middle of the Great Hall scene. I was overjoyed because I finally got to watch what every ghost was doing. Not so terrific for my claustrophobic husband in that doom buggy, though.
