I visited a couple of times when I was in college and more recently and it’s definitely a shell of its former self. May of the stores and restaurants have become run down and the AMC theater is long gone (even before the pandemic)
None of it is run down. The place is beautiful. We went for the first time last year for my Anniversary and we loved it. The corner store where you can get sandwiches and buy items you need was nice. I will definitely will be back. It has now become our new family vacation tradition.
Disney has had little to no affiliation with Celebration for several years. It’s a town just like all the other towns you mentioned. The city planners and residents are responsible for how it develops and transforms. Disney planners simply created a desired template. It’s beautiful and definitely off the beaten path. Throwing Disney in just to attract more readers is a discredit to the authenticity of the article.

Celebration needs outside visitors for the town to thrive. The downtown businesses rely on them as do the Halloween and Christmas celebrations.

Lol. What was an example of a rundown store or restaurant you visited? And in what way was it “rundown”?

There’s no way this could go wrong.
