I don’t think Iger coming back would fix anything; most of the stuff Chapek is doing wrong started under Iger 🙁

    1. JW

      Agreed.

      1. ChickenCoopGuy

Chapek is a bean counter and has basically remove the “magic”. It’s the unexpected extras and upgrades that made the visit rise above all others.

    2. Kris

No he don’t need to he was sending kids to Jeffery Epstein’s Island to learn to “Scuba dive” he Ned’s to be in prison

      1. Rae L

Say what? Where was this reputably reported?

  2. Michelle Ritter

I think Chapek is doing an outstanding job, thus far. I don’t see what the problem is.

    1. AH

There are none so blind as those who refuse to see.

    2. Jesse

Clearly your not coming to the parks and just a share holder. They are the only ones seeing what he’s doing as okay.

      1. Paula

It’s a business, the bottom line is number one to them

        1. Raeae L

Sadly, it’s the only thing that they see. You have to look at down the line as well. Now they’re back to attendance issues again. Wonder why?

        2. Melissa

I am a shareholder and also an annual passholder. Money is nice but it won’t keep coming if people can’t afford to come. Me being one of those. I for one am voting against Bob Cheapskate

      2. Stonkd

Stock is down 20% in the past year. I don’t think shareholders are too happy either.

    3. Hailey

No he’s not. He’s actually messed the company up badly. Please actually do reasearch.

    4. CjD

Have you been to the parks recently? You can’t even order a hot dog without a damn app. And how about the share price plummetting? If this is what you consider outstanding you must have a very low bar.

    5. Julian H

Michelle what planet are you on, the prices have gone up, the quality and value and whet you get for your money has so gone downhill. Disney has been all but destroyed by both Bob Iger and Bob Chapek. How can you not see that is beyond me.

So many complaints, so many people deciding not to renew Annual passes, DVC member selling of their points and people like me whom after 20 years staying on Disney Property, are now moving over to Universal and staying on property is not worth it anymore, there is little to no perks.

Disney may get a day or two of my money, where previously they had the full two weeks, but Universal give better value and at a less expensive cost. BUT you keep thinking Disney is doing a good job, God only know why…

  3. Tiger

I bet Iger gave those comments from his own Island he bought. I wouldn’t come back either. 🌝

    1. eva

Walt who? 75% of the population don’t even know Wal Disney! It’s time to stop saying, “Walt would have hated how things are.” He was a $$$ man too; he knew it took a lot for his dream. Everyone, things change, embrace it!

  4. Greg

The only correct response was, “I’m never going back. The past is in the past! Let it go! Let it go!”.

    1. Rae

      Roflmao!!! Well played sir!

  5. Tami Johnson

I liked Iger at the helm. But, everyone has their time and if he wasn’t 100% in then he did the right thing. No one likes change but change is constant. Jury is still out on Chapek. Disney needs yo get the MAGIC back. It’s slowly dissolving.

  6. Gary

The most unpopular thing he did was delete the fast pass system. This makes going to the parks a bad experience. Who want to wait in line all day and better yet who wants to cough even more money for the genie on an already expensive holiday. He should have kept the fast pass system in place and added a add on 1/2 or day long genie front of the line pass for those that can afford it. People standing in line for hours can’t or don’t spend money on peripheral items. My wife and I are pass holders and don’t frequent the parks near as much due to inconvenient lineups thus we also don’t buy dinner and drinks. We use to go after work after booking a few fast passes, have drinks and dinner. That experience is no longer avaliable thus Disney is losing valuable year long revenue contributions that surely outweigh genie pass revenue!! Good luck with this strategy! People do not appreciate massive changes that’s a fact! Walt is rolling in his grave – what was originally set up as a fun family experience is now a money grab for the board and stock holders!!

    1. Lee

Agreed. We do the same. There are other Disney executives that still believe in Walts vision that can better fit the CEO role. I think they should do more for Florida residents. They need us for the off season and most of us avoid the busy times anyway. A hotel discount doesn’t work for us.

    2. Bob

Disney exists because of tradition and experience. With the changes made over the past two years and the fact the internet exposes the problems Disney is having, it is only a matter of time when people will stop going to the Disney Parks and the parks will be sold or closed. Having been to WDW over 100 times, the magic of the Disney experience is the interaction of the cast members with the park guest, and this is gone. More venues have been closed, there are more breakdowns than ever, wait times are out of control, and cast member interaction has been all but eliminated. Going to the Disney parks with your family is no longer a magical experience.

      1. AH

Was there back in Nov and Dec. Saw festival of the lion king. No monies and the gal flying on the line just came out danced around a bit. Very disappointed with the trip as a whole.

      2. Cameron Debartolo

Your so dramatic, have you not been to the parks there busy then ever in febuary , there competitor’s are empty there expecting disbey plus to add another 100,000,000 subscribers that’s another 10 billion in revenue. Stocks were about the same when Chapek took over. Look I don’t like alot of stuff going on but nobody liked eisner in the beginning. Nobody liked Iger I still don’t. Disney has been moving very fast in acquiring almost every ip out there , you really think there parks are going under, everyone here just needs to chill, wait until d23, wait for cosmic, wait for the Galactic Starcruiser. Bob really only knows just took the reigns Iger was guiding him. If cosmic socks, is the star cruiser lacks, if d23 nothing new is announced Bob won’t hang around. But if it’s a success yall will all still be complaining because you think you know walt Disney’s vision when none of you were even alive. I hate how much they charge but guess what seaworld 100 dollars a day not worth it, universal is 109 per day at select times and as disney so is almost all theme parks. Every park is inflated this is not a Disney problem it’s a theme park problem. Just wait stop whining and wait until the end of the year if all the negative continues then you can complain but it’s too early.

        1. Julian H

Disney are ripping us all off plain and simple, chapek is greedy and getting away with the rubbish he is providing is not in my nature. Disney has gone downhill, staying on property is no longer worth it, I get better value and rooms with Universal. The woeful 30 mins in the park extra is a disgrace and quite frankly I’m not that desperate. Bring back the magic or close it. Dsiney should be looking out for its customers for 50 years loyalty not cr@pping on them as they are now.

      3. Neil

BEST COMMENT YET. EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM FRON SOMEONE WHO’S A FAN.

    3. Gary

I agree totally this will be my last Disney trip after alot of years of enjoying Disney iv spent enough to have a house built there so can’t see spending more for less and magic anymore

    4. Maya

      Rotisserie Walt strikes again!!

    5. Gary – you are so right! The magic is gone- so sad what the happiest place on earth has become😢

    6. Kris

No he he was sending kids to Jeffery Epstein’s Island

    7. BruceAnn

Amen Gary! Obviously you’ve experienced the park recently! My family of 6 went over Xmas break . This wasn’t our first but sadly it might be our last. Yes Covid played a part but the smell of greed was everywhere…. We learned quickly that we ‘should have made’ reservations to visit months earlier! So instead of us choosing our activities- the parks availability did. Lines wherever we went were 1 to 1 and 1/2 hrs. -course we could have paid for shorter wait but Xtra $s for each Land and each person was a bit much! Park food was good in the past but now was disappointing and costly. My question to the board is: what would ‘Walt Disney’ do?

  7. Yes change is good for the company but not for the customer people spend thousands for a holiday in Disney the last thing they want to do is plan the days to which park they go to months in advance scrap the reservation and booking system no need for it now bring things back the way they were time to start living again

  8. Chris

I think whoever the CEO is, they need to understand the experience from the common fans point of view. I just got back from a Disney World vacation, and it was not the same as it used to be at all. The whole experience was much worse. Bathrooms out of soap and paper towels, trash on the ground everywhere, genie is just terrible, food prices up while the food quality is way down, paying for fast passes and the option to pay for individual rides. My biggest gripe though would be Disney pushing everyone to use their phone for everything. People are already obnoxious enough as it is, and now Disney is encouraging people to walk around the parks staring at their phones. I got so sick of trying to dodge people not looking where they were going, that I just started standing still when I saw them coming and let them run into me. Most of them have me a dirty look and just continue on staring at their phone while walking. I would love to see cell service completely blocked at the parks and have the parks go back to the days before fast passes.

    1. Chris

You nailed it with this review on all counts! Maybe the phone-a-holics think this is a vacation. Disney has duped them into doing all the work. That’s not a vacation. I’m not their targeted consumer, so I don’t count.

  9. Leonard Engelhart

The magic of DISNEYWORLD is gone
I’ve been going there since 1971 almost every year.
Now for an average family they can no longer afford it and theres no more magical feeling. Only thing that’s felt now is the greed of getting every dollar from the visitors.
    I’ll never go back again.

  10. SG

No Bob there’s no “neither” it’s just bad!

  11. AB

I agree with most of the comments here Disney’s Executives need to start focusing more on the magic which is the all people that have supporting Disney for all these years !!!!

  12. Debbie

I agree with many of the comments. Just got back from a family vacation at Disney World $$$$. Stayed at Art of Animation. No daily cleaning service, towels not replaced, trash not emptied. Litter in hallway. Had to pay to park car in the hotels parking lot. Had to wait hours to get on popular attractions. Food at quick service venues was horrible. I used to love Disney. The magic is gone.

    1. Meg

100% agreed! We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside & the resort service was lacking, terribly. No beds made, no daily service, no clean sheet changes.
Had to ask for coffee pods. Trash bags in corridors. If they for one moment think it’s due to Covid, they’re crazy.
They still pack the buses like sardine cans, and Magic Kingdom was packed as well. I don’t see the point in wearing masks and having park reservations, if they don’t even have social distancing in parks or on busses. AT ALL. The cast members were rude, and mostly stand around yelling at people to pull their masks up. They need to bring back the dining plan!!! And Fast pass! (They probably don’t have as many workers as they used to, which is the trend all over this country.) Overall, It was a NOT A MAGICAL EXPERIENCE, and we will not be going back any time soon.
      The magic is gone 🙁
We go annually or bi-annually. On our way home now, from our very disappointing visit. 1/30/22

  13. Rs

Other companies have gone through the current environment that Disney is pushing (lack of customer service) and loosing customer loyalty. They made changes at the top and changed customer perception. I agree, I’m sure there are many current top level cast members that maintain Walt’s dreams.

  14. Kevin

We were WDW Florida passholders before Covid hit and we went for a few days about once a week. We stayed at Disney hotels and ate their expensive food during our stays. Then they started charging for parking at their resorts. The rooms were often dirty. So, most the time we started staying at Drury Inn that did not charge for parking and provided food for dinner and breakfast. When Covid hit and they closed down, We did not renew our annual passes. We have not been back since. As others have said the magic is gone and the new CEO is clearly a bean counter. Disney now makes it clear that they only want high end vacationers. My opinion is that they are going down a really stupid path looking for every dollar they can make, but they are loosing all their loyal fans along the way. They don’t care now because their parks are full of the post Covid travelers who can’t wait for a vacation. I believe in time this CEO will have done irreparable damage to Disney but time will tell. I do believe that Walt would be very upset if he saw what they have done to his dream today.

  15. Derek

You can always go back home…home is where the heart is

  16. AT

Can’t imagine why we’d want him back. He started the company down Chapek’s path.

    1. Kris

He the reason everything made in China
When we use to make it here

  17. AT

Great Scott, no. Eisner and Chapek are nearly identical. Maybe you were kidding.

  18. Kris

Eisner was also on Jeffery Epstein list

  19. Neil

I’ll tell you what I think. Iger aid 2 important things there. First, he referred to the CEO job as home. For me that’s an indication of wanting to go home as we all want. Second, he said would do things differently. That for me is a “if the Board ask me, I’ll be home tonight”. Hope he take it back.

  20. Neil

Error on said instead of aid. And I wrote about take it back, Take back the job not his words

  21. Jeff

There are things in life that make us shake our heads in confusion, Disney Corp has taken this to a new level — raising park prices after a year of being closed, creating a system that makes the regular use line hours longer, raising prices so high, that you can buy disney items at 1/2 the price. I’ve been going to the Disneyland scince the late 50’s and yearly since 1980. The original concept for the parks has gone from Walt’s Idea (a place for the family to spend a day of enjoyment TOGETHER) to a place looking to extract the maximum dollar from everyone passing through the gate, The magic has gone from amazing familys with an far above standard experiance; to how we can magicly remove as much money from our “Guests” wallets with out having them realize what’s happenimg. I’ve seen good and Bad since Walt passed. But the passed 20 years has seen a Issac Newton effect EQUAL AND OPPOSIT REACTION. Prices have skyrocketed and the experiance, quality and enjoyment have plumeted. But it will only stop we patrons stand up and say no more and close their wallets. As for me I’ll be a Disney fan until I die, but I will no longer attend the parks until the insanity stops.

  22. Michelle

I have been to Walt Disney world every year since it opened. And yes the park has gone downhill. Cast members seem nothing short of miserable to be working there. Fights breaking out every 5 minutes. Wait times are ridiculous. Food is nothing short of mediocre. And the prices have gotten nothing short of ridiculous. Even former cast members have made the comment that the current CEO is all about money. Look no further than the new firework show enchanted at magic Kingdom. A sad replacement for happily ever after. The parks are nothing in comparison to what they used to be. If things don’t change don’t be surprised at Walt Disney world does not end up closing.

  23. Jose

Bob iger is the ruin of disney company is making bigger and bigger mistake year by year they play with guest and cast member thinking disney its all about it they dont care about there crew and customer magic is not anymore on disney thanks to all these executives who earn millions of dolar and are crying for 1500 for 12 hours daily working 7 days in a week dolar they are paying in the DCL to there crew
