Would you care to report on the #SaveSplashMountain petition? It has 10x more signatures then the ones that want it re-themed. It’s not even close. People don’t want Splash re-themed. Only twitter crazies that are offends of everything and aren’t Disney fans to begin with.
Plenty of people would like to see it re-themed, they just don’t feel the need to sign any petition to continue with the change. Others probably wouldn’t mind seeing it get a nice update with a story that people actually know about. I for one would like to see what they can do about it and improve it. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t mean that everyone else that does is crazy
After what has been shown on the “Star Wars” hotel, if you’re gonna trust the imagineers on the Idea of the Splash re-theme, you are either delusional or lost. Plus the Save Splash petition has 10x more then the ones that want it re-themed. It’s not even close.
I find it funny when people get mad about things changing at Disney and forget that that’s what Walt wanted. Looks as though you missed the part where I said that there is probably plenty of people who don’t care about the petition and don’t feel the need to sign it because they may not care either which way. If you don’t like it, don’t go. Saves others who actually enjoy the parks from waiting in longer lines.
Jordan, I am not sure you can legitimately stand behind a comment that more people what the ride modernized without an actual comparison. Having said that, if Disney would have just announced long ago its intent to change rather than buying into the woke racist provocation, this renovation would have been accepted. The simple fact is the movie that so many promote as racist has not been widely viewed for generations and those that have do not consider it as such. For me, after returning from our third visit to Disney with our 14 grandchildren and kids, they just like getting wet and could care less what is on the shorelines
I never said that more people want to, I said plenty of people would like to see it rethemed. As in, they probably don’t care which way it goes, but they probably wouldn’t mind seeing it get a new look either. Just like the Hyperspace Mountain. People probably were mad at it changing while others couldn’t really care, but liked the idea. Also, they did say they were in the process of retheming it and they just decided to share it then with everything going on. Nothing to do with being “woke”.
I guarantee it would still be getting people angry about the change. The thing is, people will consider it racist one way or another, and just because you view it as not racist, doesn’t mean it’s not. There are certain things about the movie that people don’t approve of to this day. Disney has been about updating and changing for a while though, so I just don’t get why people are making a big deal about this.
