We are still going in April 2022..
All been double jabbed and boosted..
Not stopping our holiday again…No way

  2. Me

Just wait till the mid-term election variant appears…

  3. A pirate's life

I’m going in January 2022 and yes I’m worried… I booked my trip in July, thinking this would be more under control. I just hope following safety measures and getting my booster will help.

    1. Living with Land

I feel the same as Pirate’s Life. Going in Jan. Everyone has been boosted. Not overly concerned about getting it other than, will they let me quarantine in my Resort room or kick me out?

      1. John

They don’t test you so as long as you aren’t actually sick (most show no to very mild symptoms) you will be fine.

        1. Mike

Your post titled “Omicron Variant to Have Major Impact on Florida Travel Next Year” starts out saying it MAY impact Florida travel. Two very different things. Do you have facts to backup the claim?

We’re still coming in May 22 for 6 weeks, we’ve cancelled the last 2 years so just going for it. Really looking forward to it. (Triple jabbed of Worthing UK) 👍🏻👍🏻

        1. Ken Brenner

Hi Richard. Glad to hear you are coming. I’ve always appreciated the British people – great, strong, and courageous allies always!
I also lived in the UK 1963-1966 as a military dependent (RAF Alconbury). A wonderful experience.
          God Bless!

  4. James Jenkinson

We’re going in February. It has been changed 3 times already due to covid, even though we’re jabbed and now boosted too. I hope it doesn’t get changed again

  5. Paul

We are hopefully going in Oct, as we are coming from U.K. hopefully there will not be any travel bans, we are both triple jabbed so we should be fine health wise

    1. Lisa

It wont. You bloggers know nothing. You think you are legitimate media. You aren’t.

      1. Annie

My daughters’s best friend is there as an intern with the college program and she’s sick with Covid right now. Apparently it’s rapidly spreading among cast members 😬

  6. Sue

Stop it with the fear! Florida is not worried as we have a governor that follows the science. Covid has a 97% recovery rate. No vaccine nor masks are needed. The new variant may spread more easily but it is weaker and there has been zero deaths.

    1. Sue

I know people have you ever heard of the flu. 🤔. No why bc your government wants everything to be about Covid anymore. It amazing how some are so gullible think about it. We do t have colds no more or flu we all have covid of one of its off springs. Way to go DrF. But the fear into people. Get a shot get another one and another one. And do t forget to wear that mask or better yet wear 3

    2. Actually inaccurate-I’d attended CoVid cyberseminars with Federal Gov’t before its release. Masks to block aerosolized particles-death has occurred to those vulnerable via DNA.
It’s spread is of concern as it mutates to increase intensity.
We must use vigilance not to keep allowing its spread by
ignoring how it transmits due to variant speed. We must
increase immune system strength to ward it off entirely!

      1. AH

leaving. Data shows variant is like a bad cold or light flu with 100% recovery. SA has low Vax and UK has high but that does not seem to matter.

    3. Annie

Unvaccinated people have died in Texas from this new variant. Not trying to spread fear. We just need to stay informed and do what we know to do to stay safe. We were just at DW early this month and came back fine 👍🏼

      1. AH

One person may have died in UK but no one has died anywhere else.

  7. Jimmy NY

I live in NYC. Going to Disney & Universal in 2 weeks. We’re all vaxxed & getting boosted next week. Don’t let the media scare you into changing your plans. Omicron has shown to be basically the common cold.

    1. John

Happy you are still going. As a fellow NYer, the Vax and boosters aren’t having the positive impact they are supposed to (most cases, highest city Vax rate). That said, Covid shouldn’t be controlling our lives at this point. Enjoy your vacation! I went last month and my family loved it.

    2. Concern is appropriate at this point due to rapid spread-it’s intensified by replicating fast. Virology’s a vital point that is
now at a point of preventing it by protecting our immune
system strength-ignoring it isn’t an option or it’ll increase
through variant mutation. When its fizzled out then we can
relax, stop having to block it by using masks, and not fear a
close encounter with strangers anymore. Gold Star Genius!

      1. AH

It has not intensified, it has weakened with each variety.

  8. Ashlyn Blake

Been fully vaccinated, will mask and distance. Sad that the government of FL is using Covid as a political statement, instead of encouraging residents to do the right thing of masking. Makes me want to not visit, as I don’t want my tourist dollars going to a state that doesn’t care.

    1. Chris B

So you bow down to Fauci, the Biden administration and you hug every word that comes out of their mouth?

    2. Against masks

So then stay home our govenor is the best there is!

      1. Wayne

Just like one of the characters in the parks ,goofy.

        1. Me

          Branch Covidian.

    3. Me

Another member of the Branch Covidian cult.

    4. AH

CDC has admitted that distancing was done because they had to do something and leftist doctors have said that masks are useless against the O variety. FL is one of the best states for taking care of its people during the pandenic.

  9. Tad

A report from Visit Florida, which looked at tourism during the second quarter of 2021, found an estimated 31.7 million visitors went to Florida between April 1 and June 30. That’s only 2.2% below how many people visited during that period in 2019. And that is WITHOUT Canadian and European visitors. The Omi (Oh My) variant is not going to change that. Go and have a great time!

    1. Not when they’re all going into State of Emergency-Michigan, New York, etc., and lockdown for winter month cancellations.

      1. Pat

Another reason to get out of those states and head to Florida. Andrew Cuomo wrote a book about battling the virus and NY is no better off, maybe worse. And now he has to return the proceeds from that book, poor Andy. Whitmer in Michigan breaks Covid protocols but expects everyone else to abide by the rules. DeSantis welcomes you to Florida and with the expectation that adults know what is best for themselves and their family’s. A novel concept that actually works.

  10. oh please just stop already

Oh please! To the person who wrote this article, your bowing to the fear mongering!!! Even the Scientist, in Africa is appalled by how the world is reacting to this variant because it is much weaker then any of the other variants in the past! Have you not heard of the flu or cold? Those still exist! We all should be celebrating because heard immunity is happening. Even the the numbers are higher right now(it is cold and flu season) death toll is down! The day I’ll take this “pandemic” seriously is the day they shut down our borders and the politicians and celebrities take this seriously. If they can attend events unmasked and even unvaxxed then why the heck should I? Wake up! It’s so much more then a virus!!!

    1. “You’re” contraction of ‘you & are’ not “Your” possessive.
No one has bowed down to anything-it must be stopped
from spreading and intensifying. This strain may mimic a
Flu Bug which also kills, but now variants mutating into a
stronger variant of the initial virus is what we must avoid.
It’ll keep changing until it’s entirely out of hosts to use in
transmitting or the population has been totally weakened.

      1. Z

Patricia, that’s not how it works. Mutation occurs so that the virus can weaken enough to maximize replication time. If you mutate to something stronger, you are more likely to kill your host faster and have less time to reproduce. Biology 101.

        1. Jordan

I don’t think you took the right biology class then since the flu mutates all the time and we have to get the flu shot for it to avoid getting sick from it.

    2. Aaron Cobb

      Agreed

  11. Dulcie

We are going in mid-January. We are not international travelers though. I understand they don’t want to risk getting stuck here and not being allowed to travel home. The only thing that will make me cancel is if Disney decides to make masks mandatory while walking around outside. Can’t do that. Won’t do that. I’ll cancel or reschedule.

    1. Ken Brenner

Dulcie – I’m with you on that. We normally go each February, but will NOT go if ANY mask mandates are in place. I’ve had it with this mess…
Let me make my own decision.

  12. No worries with higher technology expanding there!
NIH published tropical drinks processed to provide
relief in very short times! SEE: GoldStarGenius.com

  13. Scamdemic

    Omicommoncold variant is soooo scary…

Scamdemic facilitated 2020 election fraud and the left will ride that horse till the people wake up and fight back.

Ron is the best thing that happened to Florida and this Country. MOVE OUT IF YOU DONT LIKE HIM!! BYE

  15. aman nanda

Iam 3 times jabbed I have already changed my flight and packages for Disney and universal Orlando I will be going there in September from Canada 🇨🇦

  16. Aaron Cobb

This whole thing is ridiculous. If this had happened in the 80’s we would have told it to kiss our a** and went about our day.

    1. Ken Brenner

      True Aaron.
I can’t get over how many people let the government take over so much of their lives.
Glad our society in 1941 didn’t have so much fear built into their thinking – imagine how it would have affected how we fought and won a two-front war…

  17. Denise

Onmicron has no effect whatsoever. Here in Florida, were we have the lowest cases in the country, and we have no restrictions or mandates. This constant barrage of propaganda has no effect on our state.

  18. Ken Brenner

Is anyone tired of Covid besides me?
Some of the ones who aren’t are those who use it as a political and/or social weapon.
At this point, the government has told us everything we need to know about this mess.
Let us make our own decisions and leave us alone.
The shutdowns, lockdowns, etc. haven’t worked…
I’m 69 and supposedly “at risk”. I haven’t gotten either of the two Covid versions, and plan to continue as always:
    1. Exercise regularly
    2. Work on improving my immune system
    3. Ignore those that try to scare people into giving up their rights.
    Very sad…

    1. Jordan

Problem is that when it comes to things like this, you can’t just say it’s your own decision. Your decision can affect others

  19. Donna

Done with the fear and I’m living life again. We gave to move on. I gave all my shots and I am part of life. Life goes on. This has to stop. We can’t live under a shell.

  20. Fed Up

LIES LIES LIES! Omicron is the common cold. They want you to be scared and create more vaccines. Stop believing the lies and live your life people. Your immune system will do its job.

    1. AH

Only one person in the UK may have died of the O varient. Non one in SA died and no one in YSA.

      1. Jordan

I’m talking about Covid in general, doesn’t matter which variant, it’s still something we need to be taking serious.

  21. Chalice

Why in the world would it affect travel? Omicron is the weakest strain we’ve had so far and we were already at a 99% survival rate with previous strains.

    1. Jordan

      You are clearly misinformed…

      1. Chalice

        Science Jordan, look into it.

        1. AHAH

          Amen

        2. Jordan

I did and it says you are full of crap

  22. Catherine Nowell

Does anyone think that the current amount of pre holiday testing will be scrapped by Jul 22 ?
