No one outside of the Hollywood Access Media and their mostly White nonbinary and binary trust-fund baby shills have positive or neutral opinions about Bob Chapek. He has to pay off the huge debt Iger created at WDC. Bob Iger pushed his vanity projects and those of his past Executives. Iger loved basketball he built NBA Experience at Disney Springs and it now sits empty. Mike Eisner gets pooped on for the financial disasters of Disney California Adventure, Hong Kong Disneyland and Disneyland Paris but they are still open and making a profit. All CEO have pros and cons of what they have down for WDC. Chapek started during the Pandemic and he deserves a chance to turn it around.
Chapek became CEO over all over all of Disney during the pandemic, he has been CEO of Disney Parks since 2015. So it’s not like he is new to what’s been going on. He has been part of it for a long time.
WDW has gone down the tubes, in a HUGE way!!! It EAS my go-to Vaca spot my entire adult life, and I mean exclusively!!!! I truly didn’t Vaca elsewhere. However, WDW has been gutted and I couldn’t feel more sick over it!! I can tell you this, myself and almost everyone I’ve talked with, is fully OVER it!!! We will definitely NOT be returning to WDW EVER!!! There are way, way, way too many things cut, destroyed, replaced, and on and on. RIP WDW. I’ll have to live the future on my memories, while I try to erase the nightmare last trip I ever took there in Feb, Mar 2017. It was horrible, horrific and more terrible than I ever could have imagined. Yes, it really was that bad!!! So sad it’s been fully destroyed.
It is really sad, truly sad to see the downfall of so much tradition and hard work wasted on the altar of today’s failed political agendas… I have never been to a Disney park but I am even less inclined to go to one now! In my life I have seen companies being successful and companies like Toy-R-Us and Blockbuster videos that are no longer among us. As a decades long Star Wars’ fan I no longer have any interest on what the new Disney Imagineering team have created for the parks. From the return of Boba Fett (whom became a fan favourite even when Lucas killed him off ages ago) to baby Yoda (yeah,Grogu) it seems there is one successful team making wave after wave while all the others go the way of… Geode, silent and unimpressive!
I glad people are taking a stance on these over inflated disasters they call magical. It is way over priced like everything at Disney. I was just there in December and couldn’t believe after reading about managing crowds and all the hoopla in the media about not being open at full capacity yet. Complete and utterly bs. Crowds were fantastic and herd you like cattle into every ride they could. As big as disney is there is no way to accommodate the kind of crowds they have attending their parks daily. Nothing magical about anything they do anymore. They don’t make you feel special, their workers in the parks were very very rude to people and I have been going to Disney for 20 plus years. It is the worst I have ever seen. The magic is certainly gone I can tell you.
I can’t speak to your experience, but ours in both November and a week ago in December was VERY different from what you describe. Cast members were as friendly and cheerful as ever, the parks and our resort were immaculately clean, and we didn’t feel “herded” at all. We hated wearing masks, and there were a few other Covid protocols that were annoying but understandably necessary, but the magic was very much alive for us.
I stopped going a couple of years ago because it wasn’t even fun anymore. The cast members will outright yell at guests now and herd you like cattle. The night time fireworks at MK were ridiculous. They were herding us in a circle around the ring… I paid for a ticket I have the right to stop long enough to enjoy the fireworks! This Star Wars thing is priced so only the elite can stay there.. it can close down for all I care.
How much should we really put into this article when the author states “Episode VII The Last Jedi” where Han Solo and Luke Skywalker are dead? Episode VII is The Force Awakens and Luke is still very much alive in that movie.

I’m booked at Galactic Starcruiser at the end of April and I’m shopping for a used hovercraft to make our grand entrance.

2017 was actually great time compared to what it is now post pandemic. Prices have gone up a lot since then and your getting a lot less now

May be Di$ney needs to spin off the many components that make up the company. And allow each company to stand on its own.

And parade? My family wants to sit a watch a parade on Christmas morning… not the same entertainers from Thanksgiving.

They CHOOSE to plan this outrageously expensive experience in between the two most polarizing and least profitable movies in the Skywalker arch.
What could go wrong?
Should have targeted the original trilogy, which is universally popular.
Mark
They need to update it to look better and change the timeline. Disney destroyed Star wars. Only real fans of Disney sw will go, which there are none
Phillip Psareas
I think it is likely to be cancelled?
