I recently went on a 3 day cruise on the Disney Dream. I felt safe and very comfortable. The cleanliness and precautions were great. I would and plan to go on another cruise in April. I don’t need to get off the ship to enjoy my cruise.

We’ve always loved Disney – both WDW and DCL. However, we will not be going on any vacation with the rules and requirements instituted now. There is no magic in masks and I will make my own health decisions whether it be mask, vaccinations or testing.

    1. Trixie

      AMEN!

    2. Greg

Smh, how big of you. Only a worldwide pandemic but masks are too much?!?

You are right you shouldn’t vacation if you are unwilling to follow guidelines for your safety and the strangers around you.

    3. Greg

Seatbelts their the worse! No cars for me until they get rid of seatbelt requirements. LoL

      1. Rebecca Treszi

YES! I think about this all the time! I am not a big fan of seatbelts…I grew up with a family friend coming to my house that owned his own trucking business telling stories about how people died because the seatbelt prevented them from being ejected as well as — they’re a pain and uncomfortable BUT if I don’t wear one (which affects ABSOLUTELY NO ONE BUT ME AND MY OWN) I am subject to a $50 fine. They still don’t find them necessary enough to install on school buses but … I wear one because a) I can’t stand the dinging noise cars are equipped with and b) I’m cheap. But wearing a mask is SOOOO much different? And also potentially affects everyone. SMH The logic astounds me…

        1. Rebecca Treszi

          TOWING…not trucking :/

        2. Greg

          Agreed.

    4. Ken

I guessing your choice is not based on science then

    5. Carrie Wolfer

      I agree 100 percent!

    6. Kenr

Agreed. And to the people stupidly comparing mask mandates to seat belt laws you are comparing an apple to an elephant. Most people wear seatbelts law or no law. There are also multiple studies proving that seat belts save lives. To the contrary are masks mandates in which there are life examples showing that states with heavy handed mandates fared no different than states that did not have the mandates and restrictions. Not to mention, most masks do not protect the person wearing it from a virus.

      1. Jordan

Actually, there were some people that felt that their rights were being taken from them and would refuse to wear one. There are also plenty of studies showing that masks help stop the spreading of germs, which is why they tell people to wear them. So, they are more alike than you think

I have a DCL trip booked for Fall 2022. My travel agent (Small World Vacations) has kept me well informed of updates/changes/precautions happening on the ships. Rules are in place to keep us as safe as possible without stopping us from living with a smile. My family will use smart health habits and think positively.

  4. Jaxx

So…..you are saying that fully vaccinated people caught COVID? Wow! Who could have seen THAT happening? Oh….wait….EVERYONE with half a brain.

Stop the vaccination requirements. Stop the testing requirements. Let people decide on their own what they want to do medical-wise and health-wise.

Done 2 Disney cruises in the past, but will not do any more until they drop the idiotic rules that do NOTHING.

    1. Greg

Just like the flu vaccine you can still get it! BUT, those unvaccinated will catch it and spread it quicker, and of course die at a higher rate zone but you do you. Polio vaccine, it’s the worse?!?

    2. Jordan

Less than 1% of the people on board got covid….so anyone with any sense could see that that means the vaccine is working since it hasn’t spread that far. So, either you aren’t for the facts or you just didn’t read the whole article. Maybe you should do that…

      1. Greg

        Thank you Jordan!!!!

Of course you are talking to people who will take anti worm medicine because some blogger says it helped them. Darwinism at its best

    3. Greg

You do understand that the vaccine reduces chance of catching it and more importantly reduces hospitalizations and deaths, right? It never was going to reduce risk to zero. 95% of doctors are vaccinated. Doctors and nurses wear masks to reduce the chance and spread.

The reason it continues to mutate is because there are too many people who did not get vaxed, allowing more spread and mutations. Don’t do your own research on Facebook, talk to a doctor who works with infectious diseases. But sure you do you.

    4. Ken

Vaccine does not mean 100 percent immune. It never has. It does reduce the chance by a massive amount and reduces the impact of the disease.

Seriously, stop getting your information from social media quacks

  5. Kenr

Until the mask mandates are gone and people are finally allowed to decide FOR THEMSELVES how to be “safe”. I will not go on a Disney Cruise. Covid is never going to be gone. Time to move on and stop reporting these case numbers. It’s ridiculous.

    1. Kim T

Had a cruise booked and cancelled due to all the new “requirements”. This article is proof that it doesn’t matter how many times you get jabbed or how many masks you wear. Will not be sailing until these are lifted!

      1. Jordan

Well considering that less than 1% is sick I think it shows proof that the vaccine is doing it’s job. I mean, you get the flu shot to not get the flu, but so you don’t get really sick.

    2. Joyce Lindsey

I am so glad you willo not be cruising. Better safety for me.

      1. Kenr

I’m vaccinated and you are neurotic.

  6. Stephanie

I am so glad I had the opportunity to cruise with Disney before the pandemic. I won’t be cruising/traveling with these vaccine mandates. My family has natural immunity but that isn’t the science anyone seems to be interested in. Disney doesn’t care about our health, otherwise they’d shut the pizza and burger buffets down.

    1. Joanna Coors

Even with “natural” immunity people are still getting Covid so what science are you speaking of?

      1. Stephanie

The science of natural immunity that until very recently has been ignored… Yes you can still get it- vaccinated OR with natural immunity. It just isn’t nearly as bad… health is a personal responsibility. Take care of yourself!

        1. Ken

Natural immunity can decay within about 90 days. Immunity from COVID-19 vaccines has been shown to last longer. Both Pfizer and Moderna reported strong vaccine protection for at least six months.

Studies are ongoing to evaluate the full duration of protective immunity, including the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Real-world studies also indicate natural immunity’s short life. For example, 65% of people with a lower baseline antibody from infection to begin with completely lost their COVID-19 antibodies by 60 days

    2. Ken

      Natural immunity..

      Riiight

I was on 2 Disney cruises this fall. I had an amazing time as always. I chose not to get off the cruise the second time because I love being on the ships. I have another booked for February. I’m really looking forward to one our ports but there doesn’t have to be a pandemic to force a skipped port. It happens and you need to be flexible when traveling, especially during a pandemic. Wearing a mask isn’t a big deal, not sure why people make such a big deal about it. I have fun Disney masks and get compliments all the time…you can make anything fun or at least tolerable if you put in a little effort. Bottom line, if you can’t miss anything or be flexible you probably shouldn’t travel right now. Personally, I’m having a blast!

  8. So Disney Cruise Line joins the many other cruise ships, and the U.S. Navy vessels that have had C19 outbreaks despite everyone being vaxxed.

When will the world stop the charade that the mRNA gene therapy prevents infection or spread? The mRNA gene therapy (aka “vaccines”) does NOT prevent you from becoming infected by or spreading C19. The proof/evidence is being reported daily now. Denying the utter failure of the mRNA gene therapy now is just living in denial.

Stop the mass psychosis and let the world get back to normal.

    1. Jordan

We are trying to get the world back to normal, but people like you who refuse to do the things needed so everyone can be safe keep making this go on longer than needed. The fact that less than 1% got sick with it on the cruise kind of shows that the vaccine is working.

    2. Pat

Remember norovirus, the scourge of cruise ships before C-19 came along? That infection caused severe dehydration, malnutrition and even death, especially in people who are older, immunocompromised, pre-existing conditions and those that are severely obese. Sounds a lot like those at the greatest risk for Covid. But the CDC only required reporting of noro if the cases exceeded 150 people on board or 2% of the ship population. CDC estimates 200,000 die from noro annually but also admit that number is low as noro isn’t tracked and doesn’t get reported like Covid. Hmm, food for thought, but only if you wash your hands first.

    3. Ken

MRNA vaccines are not gene therapy. That does show you are parroting social media instead of understamding the science

Our family of 4 adults and 2 young kids sailed the Disney Fantasy Dec. 18-26. We thought all mitigation procedures were excellent and felt comfortable the entire trip. It was announced mid-week that 2 crew members were in quarantine but no others sick as far as we know. I have utmost confidence in Disney and am so glad we had a wonderful trip before all these changes.

    1. Joseph

Same and I was told 13 youth cast-members who worked in Edge and Vibe was quarantined but tested negative for Covid.
