Honestly they should never have gotten rid of Jaws or the earthquake ride. Especially when they replaced the latter with that crap fast and furious. Jaws should be brought back somehow someway. It would be cool if they brought it to volcano bay as a high end movie themed water attraction. There would be nothing like it in this world.
As I worked on Back to the Future 2 at the Hollywood main square set, it is always a joy to relive the memories. So please bring back the experience. Also, I moved from the center of Hollywood to now being just a mile from Universal Orlando. Life is funny that way.
Yeah couldn’t agree more. Do love the Simpson ride too but back to the future was good. Would love the Jaws ride to come back for my son to see it as he always watches videos of it on Utube and yeah Fast and furious ride is disappointing.
Bring back Jaws and Back to the Future, Earthquake, Twister that’s what made universal studios stand up to disney…get rid of fast and the furious and the Simpsons the mummy is whatever. My kids have seen videos of the the old rides and they get more excited but when they seen these they are like that’s boring.
I went on Twister when it was brand new! I loved it. And I have pictures of me and a park actor dressed as Beetlejuice. And we got to see the Blues Brothers and I got a bunch of Mardi Gras beads from there parade. Every time I think of Jaws I think of the Kevin Smith movie Mallrats. Also I was young enough that they still had Fivel’s playground from the movies about the mouse and Nickelodeon Studios was still there and cool looking. I’d love to go back for the Harry Potter world but I’m sure I’d be disappointed by everything else being gone.
Beetlejuice still roams around. Got a pic with him a few weeks ago. The actor that plays him in the parks is phenomenal. Blues Brothers also still play daily – multiple times – are are awesome as always. Fievel’s Playground is also still there.
agree! Jaws was a bit of a sleeper, but Earthquake was great! Personally, kinda hate all things Harry Potter, SO not interested in any of the rides or area associated with it. The main Universal park is boring, it’s not really worth the ticket. Islands of Adventure has everything I need. hopefully Epic universe is as good or better than Island of Adventure.
The article did not mention that the BTTF ride lived a few years longer in Japan before being killed there as well.
I worked on the making of the Ridefilm, and the Florida and Hollywood installations for BTTF the Ride. That was a great ride and a lot of things had to be done correctly to make it so. I think a lot of the lessons learned were forgotten when Simpsons went in. It’s just not the same caliber.
I’d argue that it wasn’t just a movie, it’s one of the rare occasions where the Theme Park attraction was every bit as good as the films and just as loved. What else does that? Maybe Star Tours and Rise of the Rebellion? Maybe.
Granted Universal Hollywood does have a Halloween maze based on Killer Klowns from Outer Space that is just as good as the original film if not better – but that’s because the movie was terrible.
Can anyone name another ride that lives up to the film it’s based on?
I have stopped going to Universal it has honestly got boring. All they focus on is Harry Potter. Not everyone cares for Harry Potter. I miss the old rides I grew up with like Jaws and Back to the Future. Bring old rides that are classics back and a lot more people might return .
Bring it back. Universal should be proud of their IPs……not dumping them. BttF is one of the premier franchises in all of cinema. They should do it justice.
BTTF isn’t a Universal IP, it’s owned by 20th Century Fox, who ironically are now owned by Disney. So Universal can’t bring the ride back even if they wanted to.
All the junk you have now makes me not i repeat not wanting to go to universal. I liked the earth quake ride and jaws .back to the future is my favorite movie any time its on i watch it over and over..please bring those atteactions back.
Current UO Annual Passholder living in Louisiana… I love the current rides at Universal except I would much rather Back to the Future over the Simpsons.
I rode Back to the Future in 1993 when I was in the Navy stationed in Orlando, and I loved it.
Please tell me that the train and the deloran is still at universal, because I plan on going there in October of 2022, and I want to see them( every time I watch the back to the future part 3, when the deloran gets destroyed my heart breaks)
If you have an Oculus , you can do a virtual experience of the ride. I think it’s under Occulus tv, but it was pretty cool to see again. It brought back memories.

That is the issue a lot of people have. Disney is all about Star Wars, and Universal is all about Harry Potter. No diversity

Yes. Train and delorian still in park. Saw Doc Brown randomly fixing the locomotive one October day!
FlaGrl
Still there. Often you’ll spot Doc up there and can talk to him. You can get pics w/ both.

Please define “CLAP BACK” for those of us who prefer to speak English.

How about replacing the Fast and Furious ride with Back to the Future?
