You have no idea how economics works if you think every job should pay a living wage. Working the cash register at a store isn’t supposed to be a career.

This is not China and we do not live in a communist state. Just because you are used to earning nothing does not mean that workers in the USA can expect the same. Your statement is why so many American dislike the Chinese.
I’m hoping that it’ll include princess makeovers for children ages 3 to 12 at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and meet and greets with Ariel, Snow White and Cinderella in the Royal Hall, when the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique becomes available for makeovers and the Royal Hall becomes available for meet and greets with Ariel, Snow White and Cinderella, that is!
“That wage hike has really made a huge difference to many Cast Members and some now feel a large weight lifted off of their shoulders.” Really? even though most have said 15 dollars an hour still isnt enough?
Bob Chapek and all executives need to cut their salaries by 50% and no more bonuses for them.
Members of Disney’s family have complained for years Bob Iger made too much money and not enough went to the cast members.
Without cast members Disney couldn’t even operate. They all should strike across the board until Disney gives them at least $21 per hour.
My husband was a cast member in the early 90s and at that time it was great to work at Disney because you made double the federal minimum wage (that was before states started instituting their own minimum wages).
It’s amazing to me how many people do not understand basic “first year” law student contract law!
Measure L was anything going forward when and if Disney or any hotel group, the Angels, etc. took a tax break or tax incentive.
It had nothing to do with with amy projects done before then. You can’t go backwards with contracts unless all parties agree (and they didn’t).
Since Disney opted out of any future tax breaks after Measure L they are not obligated to raise the minimum wage beyond what the state has set (or only if the City of Anaheim raise it for all businesses, which they hav not).
How many ” progressive” movie stars are willing to boycott all work from Disney until Disney ponies up a ” living wage?” It was not long ago when everyone was gnashing teeth because they stiffed some actress out of a couple of million, though she was already paid a few million. SAG needs to show solidarity and get that 15 dollars an hour that they have been preaching is required by the rest of the country.
Disney feels like they are above the law in all aspects. The only time they were forced was during the pandemic when Gov Newsom refused to bow to the pressure of Disneys CEO. When they reopened the park in June DIsney was begging employees to return and blamed the lack of employees wanting to come back on the Biden Administration Rescue Plan. With this news expect to see another staff shortage. The mouse earning billions to cover all costs and high executive salaries. Its too bad they do not value their frontline employees that deal with visitors daily.
Comments for Judge Rules Disneyland Does NOT Have to Increase Minimum Wage

Since Those In Charge refuse to pay their cast members (life’s blood) a living wage, I encourage the following:
Do not spend any more at the parks than you have to.
Don’t stay on property.
Don’t park in their garages.
Don’t buy Genie-plus/Lightning Lanes.
Generously tip cast members and support them if/when they go on strike.
Sue
I totally agree!
In fact, I would say don’t even go to the parks.

Pretty cleverly written leagalese so Disney can keep raking in money. I can’t even afford to go there and wait in 24 hour long lines.
