The reality however is average high temperatures over the last 3 days has only been 68deg. I don’t know many people who would be flocking to a waterpark in those temperatures. Especially since Blizzard Beach is specially themed to include COLD water from the melting snow capped mountains 😅

We are coming to FL from Michigan on Dec 15th. We have plans to go to Blizzard Beach on December 17th. We are from Michigan so in the 70s is warm for us! Extended forecast says 76-78 degrees that day. We are very excited and praying they will be open Friday the 17th!!

Here is the rule of thumb for each day: Temperature must be >55 in order to open, with a predicted high temperature of 70+, with no adverse weather (high winds, bad rain, etc). If those conditions are met, they’ll open. However, if it has been several days of cold in a row, they may open on the warmest day, even if it is not exceeding 70. Additionally, IF not enough guests show on any day, they may close early, but that isn’t an ideal scenario because they then need to refund.

Like Dan said above, it wasn’t busy on T-giving due to a few days of low temps. And, it being a US holiday also doesn’t help, especially as international travel is still complicated. (e.g.- UK visitors love water parks, but it is hard for them to fly here right now)

Blizzard doesn’t have any availability after 12/25, and we are all praying that it will mean Blizzard will close & Typhoon will open by then (or even earlier)! Maybe you’ll get lucky and have it by the 17th!

I would rather see photos of an open Typhoon Lagoon (…because Blizzard Beach is not my favorite)

We were there on November 19th and it was soooo empty. It was glorious! So nice to have the lazy River all to ourselves!

I went there in October or this year (2021) and it was busy. This article is pointless
