The blogger said Genie+ was worth the $15/day for Rise of the Resistance. Wait a minute! Rise of the Resistance is an extra ala cart in addition to the $15/day (another example 7 dwarfs mine train). Rise of the Resistance can run $20 extra per person depending on the calendar date. Do you think it is worth $140 for a family of four to skip the 2 hour line?
It is my understanding that you don’t have to buy genie plus to purchase lightning lane passes (which would be used for RotR). Each park has 2 lightning lane rides with separate pricing and all other rides are covered by genie plus (for the extra $15 fee)
My stay is split with the addition of Genie plus…..I think the lightning line makes the standby folks feel like second class citizens. We got into lines knowing what the wait time was, and the lines moved, constantly. With lightning lines enabled you stop for a few minutes watching folks pour into the lightning line…..it’s infuriating when you spend what you spend just to get in.
Robin Williams would be pissed. My last trip was 2019 . Family of 6. Shame on Disney. Not only are you paying through the nose, the main person navigating Disney spends mahout time on the phone. I’m going to sit on the ride but enjoying it thinking I just spent 60 additional dollars for a minute and a half ride. Disney could learn a lot from Universal my go to place now.
I was lucky enough to goto Disney world with family and friends in 2011 and 2019. Unable to go as a child, I wanted to goto the most magical place in the world, and took my kids to enjoy the world of Mickey.
The atmosphere, the thrill, the inner child coming alive, meet the characters, watch the parades, the castle… What I place to see…or so I thought.
Walt Disney, the Man behind it all, created the park for his children, and the world to enjoy his imagination, film and characters come to life. But over the years, it has became more of a business to make money, too much money. A company that makes millions in profit, yet can’t pay a decent wage for the cast, who help to build and create the world of Mickey. Extortionate prices for park tickets, hotels, merchandise, food and drink, knowing that the customer WILL pay these prices, cause people need to eat and drink, want to buy a piece of magic, children will ask, and they will get..
Now, we all understand that companies need to make a profit, need to upgrade things, add rides, parades, fireworks etc… But now starting to bully families into paying for rides (only a handful… For now) after abolishing the fast pass, and introduce a lightening lane. A family of 4 now paying out at an average of $10 per person, per ride… That’s $40 extra for a single ride, that lasts a measly 2 minutes, just to jump a queue and save more time out of the line, to enjoy more time around the park. This time though, the company is wanting families now to spend more money around the parks during this time now… So, onto the next ride, again, an average of $40 for the family… That’s $80 on 2 rides, about 4 minutes on the rides… And so on, and so on.. On top of the park tickets, families are now going to spend hundreds/thousands extra per day, mainly on rides, then more money just to fill out the time.
The most magical place in the world, is no longer magical. A place for fun with the family, is now a burn in the pocket for parents, because of greedy CEOs, management’s and the what nots… The most magical place is expensive enough to get to from all over the world for a lot of families, and are now starting to get pushed further away from their childhood, because of money grabbing, inconsiderate people working for one of the biggest names in the world, and (for now) think they can get away with it. Prices will increase for everything, more or all rides will soon be a ‘pay per ride’ and only the mega rich will be able to afford to goto this so called ‘magical place in the world for the family’… When will it end?
5 years time I WAS thinking about going back, how much more expensive will it be? Will it be worth the extra money and stress?…I don’t think so

Incorrect
… The cost of Rise is $15 right now. The blogger clearly stated that.
You don’t need to buy Genie+ to buy the individual rides.
