Bill did it. It’s always Bill. Legend has it Disney World ride malfunctions are the results of a vengeful dream demon who wants his revenge for Disney not hiring him because they supposedly do not hire dream demons.

Years ago I rode Space Mountain with the lights on. It was actually boring as it is just a wild mouse style coaster.

Took away most of the thrill, because it is all the unexpected duos and turns that make it exciting. With the lights on, the dips and turns were all expected.

RnR Coaster is just an off the shelf layout. It exists as Poltergeist (or used to) at a Six Flags park.and that one is totally outdoors so you see the entire layout. It’s just that you are not used to seeing it that way so when you suddenly do it can be quite surprising.

Not exactly the same. It’s not an off the shelf model. It has slight differences. The closest coaster is called Xpress. The American versions like Flight of fear at Kings Dominion, Jokers Jinx at Six Flags etc.. are all off the shelf and have very similar layouts to RRC but if you truly compare them it’s different.

No ride is ever exactly the same as another. Still, they’re similar enough to justify the “off the shelf” claim.
That said, enclosing/in the dark versions are just about the only means available to differentiate off the shelf type of coaster layouts.

Rock n Rollercoaster is not a clone of Poltergeist, they are two separate models from two entirely different manufacturers.

However, an outdoor version of Rock n Rollercoaster exists at Walibi Holland called Xpress: Platform 13

I love this ride as well as Space Mountain and being in the dark is a large part of why they’re so fun. I’d never want to ride them with lights on because it ruins the whole experience and thrill (in my opinion.) If I want to ride rollercoasters that aren’t in the dark I would do so as there are plenty options and choices available to do just that. I guess its possibly about bragging rights but to see the actual track and all the loops and drops would ruin the ride forever.

Wow, I think it’s scaryier with the lights on, but not as pretty. Too bad she didn’t record the entire ride.
