As an Annual Passholder at Disney World, do you love your complimentary PhotoPass Photos? We all do! But as of September 8, 2021, when Walt Disney World Resort begins its new Annual Pass program, Disney PhotoPass will no longer be free (or included) with the purchase of a new Walt Disney World Annual Pass (or upgrade to the new program).
Disney PhotoPass Is No Longer FREE for Disney World Annual Passholders
For many years, Memory Maker and PhotoPass have been complimentary with the purchase of a Walt Disney World Annual Pass. As a stand-alone product, we’ve watched the price climb to $199 for a day-of purchase (as in, not purchasing in advance) for the length of trip. But Annual Passholders in Florida have been riding high as Photopass was included with the price of their APs.
As Walt Disney World begins to roll out its new Annual Pass Program, each new pass or renewal will see the complimentary Memory Maker dissolve. Instead, they will have the option to purchase a Memory Maker/PhotoPass add-on as an Annual Pass Customization.
We get actual pricing from the official Walt Disney World Resort website. It looks like the PhotoPass upgrade will be an additional $99.00 plus tax. The Water Park add-on, as well as the Sport option, will be $99 each, as well.
However, there is good news for the renewal crowd. Reporter Scott Gustin shared that if Disney follows its discount pattern for renewals, the PhotoPass option should be discounted as well to approximately $85.00 a year. This amounts to around a 15% discount. While we don’t know exactly what the discount will be, Gustin surmises with a decent estimate.
The renewal discount is 15% — but Disney is also discounting the PhotoPass and Water Parks add on when you renew.
If Disney keeps the same 15% discount for those add-ons (likely), then those drop to $85/year.
