Good to see some dropping of the mask requirements. Keep it coming!

    1. TacoCat

This face mask news is a diversion to keep you from thinking about now you have to pay for fast pass.

  2. Marlina Clemons

No!!! With numbers as high as they are and climbing dailymasks need to be in place and enforced.

    1. Ashley

Agreed! I don’t understand why they only kept the “in some outdoor attractions” rule in place for a mere 2 weeks. If anything, COVID has gotten worse since then, so I have no idea where their heads are at right now.

      1. Rambo

I agree. We just got back from a trip and were still packed in like sardines in the outside queues.

If they’re going to take away the mask requirements – which I’m glad because it was brutal being in some of those 100* temps to begin with – they should at least provide for minimal physical distancing (3-6 feet). Outdoor social distancing is still recommended by the CDC even when masks aren’t in those situations.

      2. Mischa

        Agreed. This makes no sense.

Had plans to go in Sept. Although me & my party are vaccinated, these new relaxations while Delta Variant is spreading like crazy, we might be thinking twice about the visit.

      1. yoyo

Delta is affecting 90 plus of the the non vaccinated. Get vaccinated and don’t worry about it.

        1. Ken Brenner

          Thank you yoyo!
It should be up to the individual as to what they do…

        2. That is not correct. Even vaccinated, if you catch Covid, the anti-bodies need time to bloom to fight the disease. The Delta variant grows too quickly for the anti-bodies to effectively challenge the virus. This is why a booster is now being recommended and masks still be worn. I only know this because my fully vaccinated best friend died last week from Covid-19.

        3. Donna

We just returned from visiting Epcot and Magic Kingdom. We are vaccinated but our 10 year old grandson is not. Sadly too many people were not following the rules. Pictures of people on rides with no masks. Saw many without masks or not properly worn. Not enough enforcement. A very stressful experience.

      2. Ken Brenner

Hi Lynne. If you are uncomfortable about this change, simply either wear a mask or don’t come. It should be about the individual’s decision.
Hope you and your family are well…

    3. Kelly Connerton

Then wear a mask. Nobody is stopping you.

    4. yoyo

get vaccinated and don’t worry about it.

  3. Katie

I hope they start making exemptions for disabled children/people soon. This has been painful for the community.

  4. numbers are climbing and more cases of breakthrough. We were yearly pass fans~ will visit later when it is safer

    1. Ken Brenner

      Hi William.
I believe it is up to the individual – and support your right to make the best decision for you and your family.
As for me, as an annual visitor to WDW, I won’t go back until ALL mask mandates are changed to optional.
I will get my shots, take extra vitamins that help boost the immune system, and do what I feel comfortable doing…

So on Expedition Everest the queue starts outside and then goes inside for 15 ft and then outside and then inside until you get to loading platform which has roof so is that considered outside or inside? Should be outside since only one wall.
Then you go on ride and you start on outside but then go into mountain and then outside and then into the mountain then outside to unloading dock and then inside to store to exit.
So will this be considered an outside attraction or inside attraction?

    1. Gregg Letts

Wise, as always, Yoda is. Excellent perspective, provides, he does.

I find this flying in the face of logic. Florida is one of the two worst states. Orlando itself is among the worst in Florida. Why would they even consider this? The children there can’t even be vaccinated, and younger people are starting to be regular sufferers, not to mention carriers, of covid. Look at the school districts in the state up in arms because their governor won’t let them require masks.

    1. Ken Brenner

      Hi David.
It should be up to the individual and/or family as to what they do. There’s plenty of information about the Chinese virus to help them determine their desired course of action.
Hope you and your family are well…

      1. I believe in your sincerity, but I disagree. This is not an individual choice only but a move for the general welfare of the population.Every time a new safety measure is put into place we fight it until we see the results of its effectiveness. I know my kids were always buckled up when we were in the car and safety vests on in the canoe. Too much data on spikes when masks are not mandated makes me go with masks, so I will not return until we have herd immunity or masks are again required.

  7. DS

They should drop all mask requirements.

    1. Bernard

      Why?

      1. Mason

Disney’s becoming the most masked place on earth again

    2. Ale

Agreed! It should be a choice

      1. Manny

A choice of what? To infect people?

        1. Mary Kate

People can still choose to wear a mask if they want to.

        2. Eugenia

Infect? You have to actually have the virus first, so there are odds you don’t. Then there is the fact that after all the infections recovered, plus asymptomatic cases, plus the 60 percent already vaccinated…… herd immunity has occurred most likely, all science points to 70% to herd immunity. Herd immunity does not mean it’s completely gone, but it is no longer a pandemic and no longer a state of emergency. The only reason they are hanging on to those things is to impose mandated vaccines and to that end, make billions of dollars for corporations, who essentially own our government along with other governments world wide. And Mary Kate is right, if you still are afraid, feel free to wear a mask.

    3. Ken Brenner

      Hi DS.
Concur. This has been going on a long time now. Treat it like the annual flu and let people make their own decisions. There’s plenty of information to help do so.

      1. Eugenia

        Ken, I agree completely!!!

  8. Tamara

So confusing, too many changes, come on Disney, all or nothing! Check the rise of the numbers of covid!

  9. Ale

Yay! This is a start. Hopefully by next year they’ll drop all mask mandates so we can visit 🙌🏽

  10. em

You can’t please everyone. If you don’t feel safe postpone your vacation until a time when you do feel safe. You are spending a lot of money to go to Disney why would you go if you’re going to be afraid or angry? You will have a memorable time but not a good time. Besides if you wait a while more things will be opened, parades, shows and restaurants etc. Guaranteed to have a better time I would think.

  11. Manny

Schools in Miami Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach have all instituted mask mandates in contrast to the governor who does not care about people but his political agenda. We are going labor day weekend but will be wearing masks everywhere.

    1. Frankie

People like you need to move out of, and or stay out of Florida! We don’t want, or need people like you here! Lol 🤭

      1. your response to Manny’s reasonable remark is completely unwarranted. Florida is the poster child / model of what NOT to do given these circumstances. Perhaps if more people showed some decency and consideration for others our society would’ve been past this mess by now. but no. the segment of the population who continues their entitled, confused and selfish “”my freedom, my way!!” mantra drags us ALL down into the abyss. Thanks for your ‘contribution.’ ;/

    2. yoyo

get vaccinated and don’t worry about it.

    3. Ken Brenner

      Hi Manny.
You are a good example of what I’ve been saying – people should make their own choices and do as they feel comfortable. Hope you have a great time there…

  12. Darren

It’s so hilarious to read all of these ridiculous comments about how scary Florida is and how scared these nuts are to leave their houses. The sky’s falling! Lol 🤭

  13. yoyo

hope they drop inside masks also. very soon. before I get there.

  14. Ken Brenner

    Very happy to see this.
No reason to require a mask when outdoors!
Regarding masks in general – it should be up to the individual…

  15. Eugenia

Rising numbers scare people but reality is the death rate has fallen drastically and it’s on the way out. Between the large number of immune (asymptomatic and the recovered infections) and the 60 percent vaccinated, herd immunity is here folks. It isn’t completely gone but it’s now degraded enough to say the pandemic status and state of emergency is over…however, more money is to be made off mandatory vaccination, 100 percent is more money for corporations than 60 percent and our government is owned by them.

  16. Richman Howard S

That change in policy just convinced me to cancel my September trip.

  17. Levi bergevin

My family and I are planning to come in January. Hopefully there are no masks by then since some of my family won’t come if they have to wear masks. I personally don’t care, but won’t go unless my whole family goes.

  18. Martin Pelletier

We have already tried to enforce mask mandates for too long. Guess what? COVID is here to stay. Every year, millions will get sick, and some will die. It seems that one’s vaccination status makes the difference between life and death. Still, or those constant threats reason to make masking a permanent facet of our society. For me, absolutely not. Therefore, even if cases are still high, I propose that Disney drop its mask mandates altogether 2 months after children are authorized to get the COVID-19 vaccine. It is time to return to normal!
