If you are planning on sailing on the Disney Cruise Line in the upcoming months, with the pandemic still ongoing, it is good to ensure that you are prepared and know what to expect before debarkation time, including if you need to be COVID tested or not.

Now that we know the Disney Fantasy cruise ship will be sailing for more than five nights in the near future, Guests have more requirements when it comes to getting tested for COVID-19. If Guests book a Disney Cruise vacation that is five nights or longer, they will have to present a negative COVID test during their trip before disembarking the ship, which will also be totalled onto their trip payments at $65.00 per person for Guests over the age of 12.

The Disney Cruise Line official website notes:

Debarkation Day COVID-19 Testing: All Guests (adults and children, regardless of age) on 5-night and longer sailings are required to undergo a PCR COVID-19 test administered by Inspire Diagnostics on the ship prior to debarking. A $65 test fee will be charged to the folio of all Guests 12 years and older. Guests under 12 years of age will be tested at no charge.

But, if you are fully vaccinated, there is a way around this. Per Disney:

However, Guests booked on 5-night and longer sailings who choose to provide proof of vaccination will not be required to take a COVID-19 test upon debarkation.

Guests will also need to present a negative COVID-19 between 5 days and 24 hours before the sail date, as well as a rapid PCR test prior to embarkation, which will also cost $65.00. Those able to provide proof of vaccination are able to forgo all testing.

We also just learned that Disney Cruise Line made an update to their mask policy which now allows Guests to remove masks for photos. This is great news for those looking to remember the smiles they had while sailing.

Let us know what you think about the COVID-19 testing required for sailing on the Disney Cruise Line.
