I had the pleasure of dining at Club 33 a couple of times several years ago. Once it was with a member of the Disney family, so of course the service was top notch!

I did see this listing on the Disneyland career site and my though was they must be desperate! Why? Because it use to be to work at Club 33 you had to work your way up within the Disneyland table service restaurants.
You had to first be a server at Cafe Orleans or Carnation, then move to Blue Bayou and only after that could you apply for Club 33. They wanted to make sure you had the skills for fine dining. Maybe that changed years ago, but being able to be hired in and go right to one of the most prestigious restaurants in all of Disney (or even Orange County for the matter) says a lot!

Most likely this is a function of Disney HR fulfilling state labor laws requirements. Many states require the posting of a position regardless of whether or not it is to be filled with an internal or external candidate.

  2. This article is a tease. You can get paid by Disney to go to Club 33. I open it up and see that I can get paid if I am a table busser. Shame on you! I thought it was going to be part of a sweepstakes prize.

I am very surprised that they have these jobs posted. KenG is correct about how it was to get hired there in the past. As a cast member myself, I was extremely fortunate to have met a former friend who was also a Club 33 member and dined there often. The cast members would speak to my friend and I in a whole different way that they did to other guests. She was much different than the normal clientele insofar as she was loud and very casual and came off as ‘one of the guys’ so they shared things with us that I’m sure they wouldn’t with other guests. There is a code of conduct in that building because of the level of guests that come in there. At any given time you might see someone very famous and recognizable and you can’t be starstruck. You also are not allowed to take photographs. This is a position that you work your way up to, even if you are bussing tables. Ask around to any server waiting tables in non-Disney restaurants and see what their base salary, before tips. I bet it’s closer to the $3-4.00 range.

What’s shameful is they charge patrons to the club those outrageous fees but only offer the staff $15.45/hr. PATHETIC.

I will need that as a second job to pay for Genie service.
Stand in line, wait you’re turn!
      Pass it on.

The servers, bar tenders, bussers and concierge at all Club 33 are compensated very well…often TOO well. I’ve had the pleasure of going to all of the locations in Disney World except the newest at my home park, Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The free snacks they give you for the asking are my favorite, especially the homemade chips and onion dip at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Disney pays me $14 per hour right now and I am in a non-tipped role.

    I would love the opportunity!

Bob Chapek the Disney CEO makes millions per year while cast members sleep in their cars……what a disgraceful salary since the fees Disney now charges helps keep Chapek living in his spoiled luxury lifestyle. Disney has become a “Shame on You” Corporation at our expense.

rroe, we all chose a path in life. Chapek’s path took him in a direction where he makes million$ like the CEO’s of all major corporations. Not everyone is willing to put the time and effort into getting there. Don’t like it, do something about it. Don’t patronize the business, then your hard earned dollars go where you like. Like maybe the socially and environmentally conscious CEO of McDonalds. At least you get a “happy meal” out of it.

We had the amazing opportunity to have dinner in the original Club 33 twice, as guests of a member. Unfortunately, they are no longer members, so our chances of ever going again are pretty much over. Those two evenings were the most magical we have spent at Disney! Both times, we had a table by the window/patio doors. After an exquisite dinner, that we managed to drag out to a couple of hours, we watched Fantasmic and then the Fireworks from the balcony. The views were mostly blocked by the trees (which have since been trimmed, I have noticed), but we didn’t care. It was truly magical. We are retired and Canadian, so working there is no longer an option, but it would be wonderful to help make someone else’s dining/evening experience that magical.

For the people who criticize Disney for only paying the servers at Club 33 $15.45/hr, you should realize that this is a tipped position at a very expensive fine dining establishment. Anyone working as a server would expect to receive much more than that in tips most shifts.

I would love to eat there just once. $15.45 plus tips is a good salary in that field of work. Yes, Disney charges a lot and the CEO, like many earns much more than the general population, including me. I don’t know Disney’s profit margin, but you have a choice of spending your money there or not. I took my son to the Halloween bash. He had fun, but I would not attend that event again, as I feel it was too expensive to repeat. I do take him to the parks, he has severe disabilities and looks forward to his visits.

Please hire me, I need to relocate from Chicago. That’s the west coast one right. I’ve never been near it. I went to Disneyworld!

I used to work at Club 33 for a year as a busser. I did not have to work my way up to work there. I was told I could be a server in 6 months time but realized real quick that it’s more like 5 years as all the servers had been there 10-20 years. This was back in 2001 or 2002. It was a fun job and the cast was great. We got to meet/serve all the celebrities that are there too. The food was amazing too. The highlight was one night when we got out around 1:00AM we all got to walk, yes walk the pirates ride when it was being repaired and there was no water. That was a fun time.

I have been inside Club 33 both as a guest and a cast member. Amazing place.
