Going next month can’t wait. Gonna enjoy our vacay at disney with no problems

  2. Chris

    Never changing?

It is ever changing. Chapel sounds like a bean counter versus a Disney CEO. How he handled the Scarborough issue is another sign that he isn’t Disney material long term.

  3. Rich

I’m thinking about canceling my November trip. I’m not going to enjoy myself if I have to wear a mask. I am fully vaccinated, why are we back peddling to mask mandates? I would love to know the reason why the FDA will not endorse any of these vaccines as “safe and effective.”

    1. Candy

Because it’s still in the clinical trial stage. Research it, every vax usually take 2-3 years in a clinical stage/trial. We are only in 6-8 months. That’s why….. 🤦🏻‍♀️ They shouldn’t be saying that it’s safe as they don’t really know. They don’t have all the information. Don’t believe me, look it up. Even in the CDC website….

      1. Kim

We are going in December (maybe!) as part of a conference. We’re vaccinated but have two granddaughters under the age of three at home so we continue to wear masks. EVERYONE should be helping those who can’t be vaccinated. Those who CAN be vaccinated SHOULD be vaccinated. It’s the only way to stop this.

        1. Tarci

Stop peddling your propaganda! Nobody should be taking this vaccine

          1. Breanie

And you aren’t peddling your propaganda?

        2. Kathy s

Planning our trip for October. Last trip was cancelled due to covid. Fingers crossed this one is not.

        3. Gary

This CEO as with most CEO’S are clueless when it comes to actuality. As they sit with there board members the only thought is how do we make the stock price go higher so we can buy another vacation property or island. Walt is rolling in his grave!! Some theme park!!

      2. Seddling

This is not a trial anymore, vaccines got an emergency approval meaning they cut the times it usually takes. Only take this vaccine if you wanna be protected from Covid, otherwise please don’t beg for it if you are in the ICU, it is to late by then

    2. We were told if we got the vaccine and we got covid, we would not die. I got the vaccine, I’m done with masks. I’m going to WDW in October. Disney does not need to require masks again, especially outdoors. Utterly ridiculous.

      1. ryan

we are going to Disney in October as well. the cdc is run by idiot’s. the same goes for our government

      2. Sheika

I really wish people would read and do some much needed research. Getting vaccinated does NOT stop you from getting Covid nor does it stop you from spreading Covid! This is the issue! Those who are uneducated about this vaccine thinks they aren’t doing any harm by not covering with a mask. The only thing this vaccine does is helps to not have such severe symptoms! IT IS NOT A CURE! You think it’s okay because you’re vaccinated to not protect yourself from getting Covid? You could still be spreading it to others who may not live through it? Please, please people educate yourselves and do what’s right for not only you but others as well. We don’t even know if the vaccine is safe because there hasn’t been enough time spent on it to know. A few months is not long enough! Everyone of us who has decided to get vaccinated are basically test study patients! I’d rather it be clear to everyone that, in fact that’s what it is vs. them telling us it’s okay even though we know there hasn’t been enough time spent on this vaccine. Cover up please and save someone else’s life as well as yours. There is no guarantee you won’t die or have severe life changing complications just bc you are vaccinated!!!

        1. Kim

          Great advice!!!

        2. Kyle A Wilson

You couldn’t be more wrong if you tried! Getting vaccinated *does* stop you from getting Covid and it *does* stop you from spreading Covid!

      3. Bettina

What a selfish attitude. You’re right. If you got the vaccine and you get Covid you will have milder symptoms, and there’s a much lower chance of you requiring hospitalization and dying from it. But you would still be contagious and can spread it to others. Like all the kids under 12 who are too young to be vaccinated. There are a lot of them at WDW.
Wearing a mask is not going to hurt you, and it helps to protect others.

        1. Marie

I am going to WDW in September, I have been fully vaccinated and I am planning on wearing my masks and trying to stay away from people. It’s no problem for me to wear a mask just to stay safe.

      4. Kyle A Wilson

        WELL SAID!

      5. There are 9 of us ,suppose to be going in 3 weeks, 3 of which are to young to be vaccinated. I am scared for them and seriously thinking of canceling. I am sad . we have planed this for a year and the loss financially will make it next to impossible to go in the near future. Try explaining that to a 5,8,11 yr old who have been counting the days. Life is more important than Micky and his high cost park to me but not to a kid. So very sad in this house now.

        1. Cathy

Had a trip planned April 2020 that was canceled. Have a trip planned Nov 2021 and will probably cancel. We have been vaccinated but our young granddaughter has not. Its just not worth taking the risk for us by the time we fly and spend a week there. Is it hard to make that choice, yes extremely but we know its for the best

    3. Sylvia Chandler

Masks do not work they do more harm than good the same as the vaccines so keep loosing money Disney the same as the airlines.
My immunity is my vaccine. However I will say that everyone has a choice to take the vaccine or not without coercion!!

      1. John

Everyone has the choice not to take it but every company has the right to deny service to people they view as endangering their employees and the business gets to decide what is safe that is their right. That is not coercion it’s consequences. Second what damage do masks do specific real damage from masks not shutdowns or damage from parents who have convinced their impressionable children they are so fragile that wearing a piece of cloth will hurt them. How? Third the vaccines have shown far less side-effects and symptoms than the diseases(even among children so far) 100s of times fewer so wherever you got your info is lying to you or at least misinterpreting the facts.

    4. Gav

You only need to wear masks indoors or when standing in line. We were there last week. Mask wearing is no hassle at all.

  4. Chris

People would still go to Disneyland even if they had active shooters every day. Making health and safety choices based on the demand of business is irresponsible at best and cruel at worst. Rides are having CM’s do weekly Covid tests because of outbreaks and contact tracing is a joke.

I live Disneyland but I cancelled my Nov. vacation cause I don’t want to go walk around a plague pit.

    1. JG

Exactly. I feel like he misunderstood the question – if I asked that I’d be wanting to know if they plan to reduce capacity, change physical distancing rules in lines again, and how they’re going to protect cast members. Chapek answers it as “oh don’t worry, demand hasn’t gone down so we’ll be fine.”

Okay, Rob Paycheck, I’m thrilled you’re not seeing attendance numbers go down from your office in burbank or mansion wherever the hell you live. Who cares about the public health and safety implications of a much more virulent disease and a large proportion of your attendance base (under 12s) unvaccinated and at risk.

(And before people come in with ‘kids don’t get Covid’ check out the new numbers under delta. It’s different. My nephew just had to spend two weeks at home because a kid in his class tested positive for Covid, and he’s 2.5 years old.)

      1. Michele Shumsky

We are planning our Honeymoon in May of 2022 in Disneyland/California Adventure. So excited about going there!

    2. T.M.

We still have not received refunds for our Annuals not being used for 2 1/2 months in 2020,and now they are offering the Magic key I am not sure I’ll do it with masks, under staffed, merchandise being limited and scarce, the threat of the Delta Varient shutting down the Parks and or States again, the reservation system is a poorly thought out and organized plan.I believe I’ll wait until the Magic returns.I really wish Eisner was in charge I believe Disneyland would be magically moving.

      1. I misspelled Variant.

  5. Patrick

Going in November. Hoping they have Magic Key or something like that in place before we go. But with more venues opening it gets more people off the streets and out of the lines. But would still appreciate whatever is replacing fast pass I. Oka e and running by then.

  6. Dave

We’re going the 1st week of September. Not excited about wearing masks, but we ordered masks with Cinderella and Goofy on them to help keep the magic workin’.

  7. Ro2

We wear masks anyway & were there the last week of July. Summer in July is hot, with or without masks. We were there to have fun & did regardless. Isn’t that the whole point of being there?! Pick your battle.

    1. Sue

Ro2. Well you are such a wonderful person. Bc you wear a mask. But I bet you don’t live down here when it’s 95 plus outside do you. Try to do that. It’s not very easy plus it has been proven wearing a mask can make you sick. If you people want to complain about Florida don’t come down here we r fine without all you Karen’s down here. We love our governor. And as far as Disney. If you want to pay the money and get less then you are more then special

      1. Gav

Why are you commenting so aggressively? All the writer stated was that they were comfortable wearing a mask. There’s no need for insults, or reference to politics.

      2. steve jenney

good. tell that to the doctors, nurses and first responders and see what they tell you. your Governor is lining his pockets with cash from ALL THE TOURIST attractions and hotels who gave him the “JAWS” speech. By the way how boutique those building inspectors to…CASH OVER
        RIDES EVERYTHING

      3. freedomrocks

It has not been proven that masks “make you sick.” Otherwise, millions upon millions of doctors and nurses would not wear them. If all parties wear masks, it actually CUTS DOWN on transmission. We’re in this mess because people wanted to do their own thing from the getgo.

  8. Alice

As an Annual pass holder I will be going several times in the next few months until my pass expires in February, but I will not renew. Tired of Disney greediness and price gouging.

    1. mary Vrooman

I agree with all this “wokeness: dont people realize Disney is just a fantasy and not lifes lessons

  9. Sur

There is NO mask mandate in Florida. There is NO enforcement of any mask mandate. Disney can say whatever they want, but DeSantis is not and will not back this up. It’s already the law here that not one single business can ask for a proof of vaccine for any reason.
If more people would pay attention more of us could fight this.
Remember Disney is actually part of the problem.

    1. JG

Sur – there might not be a proof of vaccine mandate but it is the right of any private business to require that those attending wear masks.

Stop trying to kill the unvaccinated kids going to Disney World by going and spreading the disease, which we now know DUE TO SCIENCE that you can do whether vaccinated or not.

    2. Dis fan

Was at MK last week of july, very hot, wore the mask indoors, had a great time, capacity was ridiculous for whats going on, its all about the almighty dollar and not saftey for people, chapek needs to be removed, period

      1. mary

soon they will install pay toliets but you will be able to use you r fast pass ” to go to head of line

    3. Noel

Yes and a JUDGE has already said they can’t do that, that a business CAN ask for vaccination proof.

      1. Tina

Ha! You’re to funny! A judge doesn’t run Florida, Governor DeSantis does! The best Governor in the country! Lol 🤭

We just came back and was thoroughly disappointed with the Magic Kingdom. This was the first visit for my 3 year old niece. She was so excited to go to, as she calls it, Mickey Mouse House. We bought our tickets through Disney’s online purchase for Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. After you purchase your tickets you are then taken to a page to make your reservation. It only allowed us to put in the reservation for one park. It took over 24 hours to get the second reservation in as there were problems with the site.
On the day we went to Magic Kingdom., we had about a 25 minute walk in extreme heat to get to the first entrance. No trams are running. It is said because of Covid however you are then directed to the monorail which was cramped. No Covid concerns there. Also while walking to the first entrance, there were no areas set up to sit for awhile during the long walk.
If you are taking your little ones to see the characters don’t waste your time. Understandably because of Covid you cannot have contact. They had random drive-bys of characters but they were far and few in between. Every half hour would have been a better idea and in different areas of the parks.
They seem to charge a lot of money but gave you less of an experience. I even found the souvenir shops less appealing. I wanted to buy t-shirts for friends but sizes were limited. Specifically medium, large and 2X.
Animal Kingdome was slightly better as far as the parking lot situation. We opted for premium parking for $50 as opposed to $26 for the regular parking but did not see any parades or characters. The Lion King was still pretty good but we did notice some differences from the past.
We have already decided that next year we will enjoy an island vacation.

    1. T.M

Vee Thank You for taking the time to mention all this, it really does help any of us that are planning or thinking of planning going to the Parks.

  11. Bob

Here’s a new revenue opportunity for Disney. Fine park guests $1,000 each, if they cannot provide proof of being fully vaccinated.

    1. Kkb

Yes let’s make everyone show their papers. 🙄

      1. T.M

Seriously? We are allowing to date over a million people in this country with no proof of residency or vaccine.Remember we were Americans before this Virus and we still are.

      2. John

We require papers to get a job (SSN) papers to drive a car (drivers license), papers to vote many places (ID when you register possibly proof of residency too), and this would be a business requiring it so it’s not even the government so the papers argument is stupid what happens if you don’t have them you are denied entry to PRIVATE PROPERTY by a PRIVATE ENTITY. Unvaccinated is not a protected class nor should it be if you don’t like their policy don’t go.

    2. T.M

Seriously? Maybe just start marking us across our foreheads with magic marker or require we get vaccine tattoo’s for entry. This has become to ridiculous.

My family was.at DW from July 26th to August 5th. It was crazy crowded in the parks. So much that we wore our masks outside as well. I was shocked at how crowded it was given the current Delta variant uptick. Here are some examples of what we experienced, a violent altercation in a room above my daughters family’s room at Coronado Springs at midnight their first night. Subject handcuffed/arrested. A physical fight at AKP between 2 women near the dinosaur ride and an altercation at Epcot before fireworks. Guests placing leftover food trays outside their rooms at ASMovies. Birds everywhere causing staff to have to pressure wash walkways. At MKP a guests small dog fouled the walkway at Casey’s Corner requiring staff to pressure wash/disinfect area in addition to cleaning shoes of guests who stepped in it. Rude guest everywhere. I have been visiting DW since 1996 and it continues to go down. I am not planning a visit for a long long time.

    1. TacoCat

You are describing how human behavior has become. Our new world is not as nice as it used to be.

  13. Kevin

Despite as cautious as my family was on our 4 day Disney vacation, sanitizing before and after touching any thing in the parks, wearing masks. we are all 4 sick with covid… large crowds are a risk. Most folks don’t even know their sick with this until they are spreading it. DISNEY close the gates.

  14. Mason

Disney needs to stop listening to the CDC. I am just waiting for Disney Parks only allowing vaccinated people to come.

  15. Matt iksorbaz

Been at WDW for 3 days now. Over all, they seem to be doing well with safety. 3 areas where they are failing (and really failing terribly): 1. They need to remove non-maskers from the lines for rides. They say “mask must be worn from ride cue on” but do nothing to enforce it. Start kicking folks out of line and making them go back to the end, that will send the message. Masks need to be worn inside parks, both outdoors and inside buildings. Fix that too. 2. Resort pools…awful. No masks, no social distancing. This Needs immediate attention. 3. Elevators (resorts and elsewhere) need a 1-family or 6 person limit.

Now that we know vaccinated people can still spread the virus (and get it themselves!) it’s time for Disney to tighten up.

Lies, lies and more lies from Disney. The reservation system does not work and they are not making the trip a good experience. We went a few weeks ago and I feel like it was a total waste of money. My kids 8 and 10 were begging to leave and go swim. All I could think of was “we are at this so called greatest place to be and my kids aren’t enjoying themselves”. Disney is an open ground site for Covid spread and I truly wish someone would have been honest before we spent so much money going and waiting in lines for every single ride. It’s pretty sad that the owner just wants to pocket the money of family and not give them a good experience as he stated in the article. I’m good without ever going to Disney again in my life and unfortunately because of the horrible experience my kids had while there, they or the generations to come probably won’t go either.

Disney needs to clean Up its act and make the trip enjoyable for all. Don’t lie and say you’re at 50% capacity when the wait time is 3 or more hours for every ride.

I even purchased the photo pass and had many of photos not even arrive on my page😔 I’m very disappointed in Disney and the lies they tell about reservations, fast past and everything else to get your money and then have you sad when you get there.

    Get it together Disney!!!!!

    1. Cathy

Welcome to the Wonderful World of Disney. Guests are just wallets to empty. The Disney philosophy began with Iger … “give ‘em less, charge ‘em more.)

As bad as it is for guests Disney is not at all employee considerate.

My 44 year CASTMEMBER husband has been successfully working from home since March of 2020. Good timing because I have been ill and can no longer stay alone. (His home in NYC, I’m in Maryland).

Now he has been ordered back and must leave me alone.

It has been heartbreaking watching over the years as the Disney experience deteriorated for guests. Now it’s our turn.

  19. Nate

I’m definitely not worried about your kids! If you are so worried about you and your kids at Disney parks, than stay home! It’s that simple! Your kids are not my problem! I’ve been going to Disney World every two weeks now for months, without masks! I’m still healthy and well! It’s not up to Disney and other guests to so called ‘keep you safe’!

    1. And here it is…the problem Americans are facing is because of self-centered idiots like this one.

    2. Cathy

It is ENTIRELY up to Disney to keep guests safe. They have belts on wild rides, inspect rides for safety, train castmembers in safety procedures, design rides which are safe, ride que’s so there are no dangers like tripping and falling. There are food standards which must be followed, room cleaning and disinfecting in the age of Covid.

Disney is totally responsible for the safety of its guests. It’s what we expect so we can visit without worry.

    3. Sandi

I totally agree with you Nate. These self centered idiots on here that are so scared of getting a virus need to just stay home and hide! They are totally ridiculous always wanting everyone else to so called ‘keep them safe’! Lol 🤭

    4. Gary

Just a matter of time if your careless! Ask the millions of unvaccinated people on ventilators if they acted like you!! Good luck with your careless attitude!!

  20. Amanda

Reading some of these comments and I’m just downright annoyed and perplexed! Do you maskers want us to wear masks and hide in our bubbles our whole life?! Stay home if you’re scared! Us people that aren’t afraid want to enjoy life as we are allowed and intended to! I’m so over this COVID/Delta crap and it’s always going to mutate since it’s a virus, just like the flu mutates every year! Enough is enough, open stuff up, build up that herd immunity and let’s move on. Let others choose how they want to live without harassing or judging them because you’re scared…

    1. Alex

      Amanda just dropped the microphone!

  21. Annalise Barrett

Well over here in the uk we so want to visit Florida any idea when we are able to visit .have a flight booked in December 2021 🤞
