I really enjoyed getting a free magic band every time I renew my Disney pass . Love getting the different colored bands. Please bring them back. I am not good at using my phone for a lot of stuff like for Disney.

You can still buy them, starting at 14.99

      1. Of course after you pay extra for the E-ticket rides

  2. I would assume that passes will go on sale soon. New pass members will no longer get a free item and will have to pay if they want one. It makes sense they will sell them sometime soon.

I don’t want to use my phone. I also have an autistic adult son who doesn’t have a phone. He had no problem wearing the wristband to one time I brought him

I have so many free Magic Bands that I could use, plus the additional ones I have purchased. I have at least 20 Magic Bands . I know where they are located, in our Disney vacation drawer.

How long do they last? I have some from our September 2019 trip and would like to use them for our February 2022 trip.

I really love and enjoy the Disney Magic complementary band every year. Please, bring them back. It’s a nice detail from Disney to the Passholders. It make us feel special as we are. 😍👍

I agree wholeheartedly! Please bring back free Magic Bands for APs!
Bring back free Magic Bands, BBFMB, BBFMB, BBFMB, BBFMB…

Not really happy with a lot of Disney’s changes lately! Bands are great for the pool and water parks. Been a DVC member since 2010, and wow how the price of nickel and dime stuff affects your budget. From the magical express to no fast passes, which I am sure we will have to pay for that one time free service in the future, I am sure stock holders are happy, but the bread and butter Disney fanatics are getting hosed!

Yes, bring the bands back…. So easy to access and pay for everything. I don’t want to fumble with a phone on vacation. Loved when the bands came out….

Not really, but I would like the new app to be able to take advantage of Apple Pay using the Apple Watch. Would just use the Apple Watch the same way we would use the Magic Band.

      Apple Watch

Bands are so much more useful & convenient than the app on the phone. WiFi isn’t always the greatest – had issues ordering at Wilderness Lodge back in May 2021. Phone use will have too many people needing to charge their phones throughout the day. All of the app use takes away from the great personal interactions with cast members.

Think about it from a guest’s experience, Disney, and what we miss when being driven to our phones. Magic Kingdom’s entry words are “Here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy”. Too much phone use keeps the “fantasy” at bay and magical interactions at a minimum.

I don’t want to walk around with a phone in my hand. That was one of the many incompetent deals Disney has come up with. Magic bands were so easy to wear and use. Free was OK but I’ll gladly pay for the ease of use as long as they are reusable. Who needs 20 free bands!

I’m just disappointed about the fast passes, everyone enjoyed them and it seems since Walt has died, the people that are now in control, care more about the money and less about making children all over the world happy!! His dream has become tarnished, it’s like they don’t care.

Some of us don’t have the phones or watches! And who wants to hold a phone all day. The bands are the best. Disney, not Disney, the CEO and others in charge making big bucks need to stop with the changes and big prices.

I hate my cell phone and wouldn’t have one if my son didn’t force the issue. I love my magic bands! During the reopening I simply didn’t eat at the parks as I couldn’t get my stupid phone to get to the menus let alone pay for it. I started taking in PB&J’s instead of eating in the parks! I miss eating in the parks! (Casey’s, etc.).

Wow, trimming away yet another perk Disney. They continue to spit in the face of their most loyal customers. We have been holding off on going back until all the amenities return and the mask requirement is completely gone. It seems like every month I read an announcement that one more perk that made it worth it to visit and to stay on property is going away. It is making me feel more and more like perhaps expanding our horizons to trying some of the competing parks.

While I do have a rainbow collection of used bands from past trips, I never had a problem using my room key card for access. It might seem like we’re going backwards to go back to the old ways, but I won’t be spending money for a magic band.

Another way for Disney to make more money. Will they be charging for theme park maps next ?

  16. Jan Ledet

A very bad idea to get rid of the Magicbands. And switching to cell phones. If ur at the park all day from, and ur cell phone battery dies, u don’t have time to charge ur phone. And U will need to carry a portable phone charger…

    1. Jordan

I’m sorry, but who goes to Disney park, or any vacation for that matter, without a portable charger or leaves when their phone doesn’t have enough juice to last the whole day? Each of my friends and I had our own chargers with us to help us just in case. Not only that, Disney has stations where you can buy a charger in the parks if you failed to come prepared. It’s honestly not that big of a deal to have one with you. Also, they aren’t getting rid of the magicbands, they are just not making them free for people staying on property or having annual passes. If you really want one because you don’t want to use your phone, they you can buy one.

    2. Jill

They arent getting rid of them. Just buy one.

  17. Christine

I personally love the magic bands and I’ll buy them. I’m just waiting for them to open up selling the Season Pass (AP) that’s killing me waiting

I am very disappointed to hear that Magic Bands will no longer be complimentary for hotel guests. Every added cost makes it more difficult for families to go to WDW. Walt Disney built Disneyland and Walt Disney World as a places for families to enjoy themselves together. Every time the Disney Corporation adds more cost to the experience, the harder it is for families to enjoy it. Is it really necessary for all of these cost increases? It is really disheartening. I realize that all of the wonderful refurbishments and high quality attractions we enjoy cost money, but do prices really have to increase on Everything??

    1. Ruth

I am just adding another comment to my post. I really would not feel comfortable using my phone in place of the Magic Bands. The bands are so much more convenient than pulling out a phone all day.

      1. Jill

You can still buy one. They aren’t being discontinued.

  19. Marilyn

i think it should be an option to get a free magicband or upon your first annual pass purchase. i hate being glued to my pphone honestly. when on vacation i want to get away from it. and what if you lost your phone? Annual passes are not cheap but getting one is on my bucket list.

I love the convenience of my free Passholders Magic Band. Its about the only “free” item Passholders get. Love my Magnets, too! I don’t have any type of “Smart” phone, Apple watch etc., therefore, I don’t have apps. When I am at Disney Resorts with my daughter, she struggles with the WiFi, so it becomes almost impossible to use, view, order, or complete any type of transaction by her Apple phone, Her husband has an android and has the same issues. Please reinstate the free Magic Band for Passholders.

  21. G.G.

    Bring back the magic bands!

    1. Jill

      They aren’t discontinuing them!
