Disneyland Resort is known as the Happiest Place on Earth. Unfortunately, sometimes events can happen that will make things not so happy. Guests visiting Disney California Adventure on July 8 experienced such an event when they got stuck on the popular attraction Radiator Springs Racers, located in Cars Land.

Facebook user Michelle M. shared pictures of Guests stuck on the attraction as two of the cars round the bend, not exactly the most comfortable position.

Michelle said that she and her family had just gotten off of the ride and were walking along the path when they saw the cars stuck on the racetrack. The ride broke down at approximately 2:20 p.m. PT and was still listed as “Temporarily Closed” at 3:00 p.m.

Radiator Springs Racers opened on June 15, 2012, along with the entire Cars Land area. The ride has remained extremely popular since then, with Guests frequently waiting upwards of two hours to race their fellow Disney fans. To help with the long wait, the attraction has a Single Rider line and, normally, offers FASTPASS/MaxPass, although that offering is suspended at this time.

The Disneyland website describes Radiator Springs Racers on its website:

Kick the fun into overdrive as you buckle up for a road race featuring familiar car-acters, fantastic scenery and “wheel” thrills.

Tour Ornament Valley and arrive in Radiator Springs—the cutest little town in Carburetor County—where the movie Cars springs to life.

As you prep for the big race, all the locals show up to help. Mater, Lightning McQueen, Doc Hudson, Sally, Luigi, Guido, Mack and Ramone are all rooting for you!

Take a quick spin into either Luigi’s Casa Della Tires or Ramone’s House of Body Art to get a racing makeover—then hit the road.

Ready, Get Set, Go!

Meet your friendly competition at the starting line and get ready to race for first place! Zip over hills, zoom around high-banked turns and cruise down camelback straightaways past spectacular red-rock formations.

Even if your car comes in second, this is one race where everyone’s a winner!

At the time Radiator Springs Racers was closed, Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters was also down. The two attractions are located next to each other in Cars Land. However, it is unclear if the closures are related to each other. A recent power outage on the 4th of July caused a number of rides to shut down for about an hour during the holiday weekend.
