Disney doesnt care about my family’s safety. They made that really clear when doing iron beam lifts next to our waiting line when building Avenger’s campus. Very dangerous but they refused to reroute the line or stop.

Considering the incidents mentioned in this report were all out of Disney’s hands I would have to say they probably care a good deal about their guests’ safety or there would be a lot more to report.

      1. Anonymommy

They didn’t report my injury or incident.
I fully believe they only report the incidents that require 911 or medical transport to an outside medical center.

    2. Rob m

Well the article says differently Sarah.

    3. It’s very sad that someone lost their life but as we all know things do and shall keep happening while we are on vacation or in our own homes I don’t see these issues Disney’s fault and pointing fingers do not help and yes I strongly believe the company care about safety, rules and regulations. I wouldn’t and don’t get on rides at our local fair you are really putting yourself in harms way.

You call them not making statements for these situations “caring about safety”?

Just curious, have there been any births at the parks, you know women with pre-existing conditions such as pregnancy

    1. Katherine

Lol! Is THAT how the commoners get a “Golden Pass”? If so, sign me up! Jk

    2. Kathy

Wouldn’t that be something? In all these years you would think there would have been. But maybe Disney doesn’t want any liability for THAT! ?

      1. SG

Yeah, I’d love to see that as “place of birth”! Fabulous!

Happened to my wife. She went into labor in the old EPCOT passholder lounge above The Garden Grill.

      1. Nicole Colletti

Did she give birth in Disney?

My son slipped on a white painted curb exiting Tower of Terror. 31 year old male. Tore his shoulder and received a concussion. However he did not report it. First week of July 2021.

      1. April Campbell

Why would he not report it? WDW has insurance. Why would your son want to pay for his WDW injuries with his own?

    5. Kimberly A Hauser

While we were there an ambulance was called when a woman’s water broke. First week of july, 2021

  3. Disney takes so much time to prepare and be part of everyone’s dream vacation. When people go to theme parks have pre-existing conditions they chose to go for the thrill of it! It has to be something that is just not expected or the responsibility of the theme park. God bless their souls who have had these tragic occurances ?? Sad for their families ?

I have a long list of pre-existing conditions, including severe osteoporosis; my bones are like toothpicks. I visit Disney World every year for two weeks and it wouldn’t be surprising if I end up breaking a bone while I’m there, simply because it wouldn’t be surprising if I break a bone at any time wherever I go. That’s just a risk I live with. If it happens, it certainly won’t be Disney’s fault. I keep returning there because they do more to ensure I feel safe and comfortable despite my laundry list of disabilities than any other destination has ever come close to. But it also won’t be my fault for not ceasing my life and staying in bed wrapped in bubblewrap. I wish more people accepted that sometimes there is no one to blame or point fingers at!

      1. SG

Well said Jennilyn. And good for you, enjoy. I have no problem with all the wheelers be it strollers, scooters or wheelchairs. Like you said it’s good to get out and about. I would still love to visit WDW with pre existing conditions too.

  4. Anniie

I under stand if you have a pre existing condition but the sign is in English. What if the person can’t read or if the person speaks and reads another language. IOt just ran onto the right. There should different points indicating if you have a or existing condition. Some people don’t know they have a preexisting condition. Especially males after the Corvid Shot that is enlarging hearts. And killing. People.

The people who broke their ankles and arm I think it was was. Ot a pr existing condition. Unless your fragile. Moving platforms are dangerous all by themself. So Disney not commenting and just handing in a report is Disheartening. People go there to enjoy themselves. Ot be bury a love one or rush to the hospital. Especially with Delta Virus that is Killing More then Corvid.

    1. Becky

Ah, it’s COVID, and the vaccine is not killing or injuring NEARLY the number of people that COVID has already killed. Stop with that idiot mentality and get vaccinated. You just sound really ignorant spouting that tRump nonsense. tRump’s vaccinated…Tucker Carlson’s vaccinated…why don’t they want YOU to get vaccinated? Do you think it’s cos they care so much about you, a rube who wastes her money and time at DISNEY, ffs? Neither of them would pee on you if you were on fire and you’re going to give them your life? Pathetic.
YOU and all those Floridians like you, are the reason I’ll never, EVER step foot in Florida AGAIN.

Becky and Anniie you both sound like you’ve got some serious mental issues. Disney doesn’t need you at the parks. You are the accidents waiting to happen.

    2. Diane

I am a former employee of Disney. Truth is the magic ends when we get behind the the fairytale walls. It’s all lies and deception. They take innocence from kids that’s free and charge a huge fee by exploiting that. There’s accidents there all the time but Disney has their own emergency service that we are only allowed to contact for we are told to never call 911. If we have to or we are not close to thier many convenient phones to call their emergency service, we should ask to be patched through to reedy emergency service.

      1. Robin

What do you mean by “ They take innocence from kids that’s free and charge a huge fee by exploiting that.”?

      2. ScottishPerson

Ah, “former disgruntled / fired Disney employee” commenting. Yes Disney make a shed load of money – they are a business. However, if said business were to continually injure visitors then they would go out of business given the litigation business in the US where people issue proceedings for stubbing their toe on a sidewalk.

The person had a pre-existing condition. Disney issue warnings on rides where there is an increased risk – they don’t force you onto that risk. The ride didn’t malfunction, the person didn’t do anything stupid (like try to stand up and was decapitated etc). It was likely a heart attack / stroke or something similar (so natural causes). Hence no big whoo ha. A Japanese tourist died of a heart attack when I was out at Alcatraz. The. The tour company weren’t to blame and yes it was sad but these things happen. Nothing sinister and nothing Disney could have done to prevent the death.

    3. April Campbell

“Especially males after the Corvid Shot that is enlarging hearts. And killing. People.” LOL please keep your ignorance and fear mongering to yourself. People are more likely to get really sick or die from COVID than get an enlarged heart from the vaccine.

    4. April Campbell

The Delta VARIANT _IS_ a form of the COVID virus. Where do you get your information?!

I was injured at WDW, at the entrance of Spaceship Earth actually. Would’ve been between 2006-2008.
I was in my own manual wheelchair, and I was going to ride alone while my husband waited with our children, but he needed to wheel me down to the bottom of the sloped ramp. A CM would not allow my husband to push my wheelchair into the attraction and when asked, they said a CM “was not permitted to wheel a guest into the attraction”. I tried holding onto the railing but around the halfway point I couldn’t slow the momentum and crashed into the rails at the bottom of the slope.
I inform the CMs of Spaceship Earth and ask to be taken to First Aid just to be told I needed to ride the attraction to get out (BS).
By the time the ride was over, my jeans had a few blood spots on my legs and I was in tears. No assistance. We go to Guest Services and they don’t even take an incident report, they just typed something in the computer.
We just left at that point. Fortunately I wasn’t more seriously injured. If my wheelchair had tipped, it would have been much worse.
I saw my physician the next day to make sure that nothing happened that I was unable to feel (preexisting spinal cord injury causing “numbness” in both legs). Just a lot of bruises and a few small scrapes along with very painful hands from the rail (R hand) and the wheelchair (L hand) leaving me unable to use my wheelchair without pain for about 2-3 weeks.
    I didn’t call a lawyer. I didn’t seek recompense from Disney.
However, I was injured over what still seems like a ridiculous loophole for a disabled person. Why make it so hard to navigate a difficult area just to enter an *accessable* attraction? I hope they’ve changed that entrance.

TLDR: I was injured at Disney and they don’t report everything, or at least they Disney 15-ish years ago.

    1. KDC

Oh my goodness! I am so sorry that happened to you, the cast members should have assisted considering that ramp. I hope you got very good compensation for your injuries… They need to fix that!

  9. Patrick

Passed out? Maybe from having to wear a mask in the heat outside in may???? Duh…

Sometime in the 80’s my family(mom, dad, husband, kids) were in Disneyworld. My mom was handicapped and spent most her time in a wheelchair with limited walking and moved at a slow pace. We all went on a ride that was one of those that accommodated alot of people, on a conveyer belt and continuously moved. When boarding the ride we inquired about stopping the ride to get my mom on the ride. I was assured it moved slow and she would have plenty of time to board. Well indeed she did not. As the belt reached the end, employees “had” to stop the ride suddenly. That quick stop threw my mother’s balance off and down she went. After she got picked up the shuffled us off to a room and offer a beverage. No medical check offer, manager, nothing! Never thought of their responsibility. Off we went. Follow up! Who knows! All I cared nothing was broken!
