I’m disappointed to hear Disney is partnering with Scentsy (a multi level marketing company) in the parks. This will give this mlm a huge platform and entice many Disney guest to join this mlm which we all know is code for scamming people and being a pyramid scheme. This is should be stopped and not brought into the park
I recently bought their Darth Vader, R2-D2, and Jack Skellington and enjoy them. They are pricey but I only buy their Star Wars or Jack warmers. i wish I could buy all the Disney ones too but my apartment is small. The Beauty and the Beast with Mrs Potts and Chip is adorable. I’m excited to see what they will offer at the WDW park.
The problem in this case is not the quality but rather the predatory business practices that Scentsy and other MLM’s engage in. I would love to purchase some of the scent warmers that Scentsy makes, but I cannot support a company that barely pays their “independent consultants” unless those “consultants” sign up more consultants under them.
Disney, this was a terrible decision.it exposes this predatory business model to your audience. These companies claim to offer business opportunities, but to the over 99% that get involved, they’re only made to feel guilty about not ordering and consuming enough products for themselves. It soon burns through relationships and finances for many families, but people remain because they want to believe in the magic of the promise they were sold. Surely you don’t want to be involved in that.
I would never support this. Scentsy is a multi-level marketing company that preys on people who are in dire financial need. Their over priced, sub par product will bring the Disney brand down. I’m wondering if the people who made this decision sell Scentsy as a “side hustle”.
Completely disgusting. Partnering with a MLM?? First the Lularoe Disney prints, now this? Awesome job Disney! Now you can sucker in women to lose money into this predatory selling model…
I heard there were Scentsy reps at the park today pressuring people to take samples even after they said no, then handing them to their kids if the parents said no. Just one example of how super great and pushy this “company” is.
So Disney is just giving yet ANOTHER middle finger to the MILLIONS of people who have asthma, allergies, or both. On top of supporting a disgusting predatory MLM. I will definitely be rethinking our annual passes since they are going to partner up like this.
This is absolutely horrible. If I get approached by an MLM worker while I’m enjoying a day at the park, I will lose my mind. Someone on Reddit mentioned that they’re really pushing stuff on people at WDW today. Giving bags to people who decline them multiple times.
Horrible decision by Disney. Licensing characters is one thing, but allowing these scammers into the Parks is crazy! Plus what about people with allergies or simply sensitive to scents? This makes certain areas of the Park inaccessible to them.
Im shocked given how careful Disney is about brand value that they are teaming up so publicly with such an unethical company.
This will absolutely effect us buying annual passes each year and staying in WDW. Several members of my family, including myself, are extremely sensitive to scents. We get migranes, asthma attacks and Menieres attacks from any perfume and scents. How can DISNEY ignore millions of people that are adversely affected not to mention such a horrible company on many levels. Extremely disappointed. We are staying at a WDW resort for 3-1/2 weeks over the Anniversary and 3 weeks at Christmas. May not bother coming in future at all if this is intrusive in the parks. Sad since our family are huge Disney fans. December there will be 19 of us.
While I agree that they shouldn’t partner with this company, if your problem is fragrances/perfume in general, they’re already inescapable on Disney property, and they’ve been intentionally using fragrance in the parks and hotels since they opened, so much so that they invented new technology to disperse it more effectively – the fan famous Smellitzer.
