Credit: Disney As the Walt Disney World Resort continues to relax pandemic-era protocols — most recently ending its mask mandate for fully vaccinated Guests — more of the Resort is opening. More restaurants, as well as hotels, are opening up at the Most Magical Place on Earth.
On June 15, Disney World announced that the popular Jambo House rooms at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge would be reopening soon and Guests could begin making reservations for Jambo House as early as tomorrow!
As you may know, the Disney Vacation Club villas at Animal Kingdom Lodge have been reopened and Kidani Village has been welcoming Guests. But now, we know that the regular hotel rooms will be reopening this summer.
Disney released the following statement regarding the reopening:
As we continue to take a measured and deliberate approach to reopening our Disney Resort hotels, we are happy to share that starting tomorrow, June 16, we will begin accepting bookings for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge for arrivals beginning Aug. 26.
As a reminder, we are now also accepting bookings for: Disney’s BoardWalk Inn for arrivals beginning July 2 Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort for arrivals beginning in late July As we previously shared, future reopening dates of Disney Resort hotels are subject to change and Guests’ reservations could still be modified to other Disney Resort hotels.
Guests who stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge will truly be transported to the heart of Africa. The hotel has its own savanna, complete with giraffes, zebras, and more!

Currently, most dining at Animal Kingdom Lodge is still closed, but the quick service location The Mara and Sanaa at Kidani Village are open for dining. Disney has not announced when locations such as Boma – Flavors of Africa and Jiko – The Cooking Place will reopen.
