It’s been a big day for the Disneyland Resort as California is now fully open. After closures and changes due to the pandemic, the Disneyland Resort is starting to welcome back some experiences that have been missed.
Disneyland has now lifted its mask mandate for fully vaccinated Guests. In addition, social distancing markers have been removed. Additionally, fireworks and the Disneyland Band are coming back. But what else has returned to the Disneyland Resort?
The theme park and Resort are happy to welcome back the Pin Trading experience for their Guests. Although Pin Trading didn’t officially begin until the year 1999, the Walt Disney Company has always produced collectible pins.
Now that Pin Trading has become a coast-to-coast Disney Park phenomenon, it was unfortunate when it did not return when the Disneyland Resort initially reopened. Thankfully, Pin Trading is now back and here to stay! The experience, however, will be slightly different for the time being. Guests will be limited to two trades per Guest and per pin board. You can find the pin boards at locations throughout the Resort, and you will be able to trade pins using the board of tradable pins on display.
If you’re looking to get into Pin Trading at the Disneyland Resort, their website does have some helpful tips. Keep in mind that this was the process before the pandemic — now, Pin Trading involves selecting tradable pins from pin boards, with the help of a Cast Member, rather than trading pins directly with a Cast Member who is wearing a Pin Trading lanyard.
Here’s how it works:
Meet a Disney Cast Member wearing a pin-trading lanyard.
Find a Disney pin with your favorite Disney character, attraction, movie or design.
Trade your Disney pin with the Cast Member. (It should be a pin the Cast Member does not already have.)
