Kathleen Kennedy threw a wrench into the plans by firing Gina Carano. However, I get the idea that both Dave Filoni and John Favreau both believe that they have figured out the formula; i.e. have a special child in danger, men in shining armor, bounty hunters in pursuit, and a Moff behind the scenes pulling strings.

Or we just let that garbage fire that was the new trilogy get deleted from cannon as has already been said at Disney, and the mandalorian goes off its own “or original source” material for future content.

      1. Tracyann Cross

        Agree 100%

    2. Crystal

The whole show died when they fired Gina Carano… People should be entitled to and respected for their own opinions! Go woke, go broke!

I am 70 and I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed the Mandolorian and fell in love with baby yoda.

    4. Marian Oke

You can’t kill off the mandalorien. It’s a great story. It’s a great addition to the star wars series.

  2. Patrick

They’d be better to leave sequel Trilogy alone. Grogu is undefined enough to be more mature to be on his own and learn faster than other students in an Academy that he could be saving Djarin in a Mand’alore title showdown of some sort. Doesn’t mean that Djarin doesn’t buy the farm and he end, but we’ve had 2 seasons of saving the child. A gap then a 4th of saving the child again? Flip the script a bit and keep with original stories vs rehashing yourself here.

This site is pathetic when it comes to covering Star Wars. Please wait until a real story unfolds. All of this anti-sequel hype amounts to jellybeans.

    1. Brian

The sequel trilogy was a pile of hot garbage, granted that is largely because of Rian Johnson, but Kathleen Kennedy is horrid in her job as well. That trilogy didn’t tell good stories, didn’t have relatable characters as nobody likes a Mary Sue. Hell Disney should encourage Favreau and Filoni to subtly un-canonize as much of the sequels as they can

      1. Andrew

I felt the sequel trilogy took a dump on everything George Lucas planned or envisioned.

    2. Fran

So true. I agree with you totally.

    3. David

I’d be fine with Din dying if I also got the Sequels retconned and a Luke Skywalker series with Grogu and Mara Jade, who eventually marries Luke and we get to see them as parents and uncle/aunt to Jacen, Jaina, and Anakin Solo.

    1. Brigitte Osborne

Oh really, if this happens I will be fine to cancel Disney+ and be done with Star Wars. You could enjoy your favorite characters for 40+ years but my new favorite character Din can be killed after 3 seasons, oh hell no.

    2. Mandy

Not okay with Din dieing. Ill.leave it at that.

  5. backcountry164

I’m sure you just forgot to mention one of the most popular characters.
No one should waste their time getting excited about anything Star Wars as long as Darth Kennedy is lurking in the background just waiting for an opportunity to F something up…

    1. Graham Wells

Its all make believe where anything can happen let them get on with making it if the do a great job great if the screw up don’t watch

  6. MJ

Or…. They could just retcon the entire sequel trilogy and run with their own stories.

  7. Des

What a freaking reach. Y’all are just grasping for straws at this point. It’s called, “The Mandalorian,” for a reason. The focus is going to shift back to Din Djarin.

    1. Oseday

Exactly, this is just an extremely far fetched theory.

  8. Eric

I would definitely enjoy seeing one my favorite actors back in the character of Ben solo even if he was trying to kill grogu, because I know he would kill the scene and make it so memorable.

  9. Chris

Let’s keep all things from episode 7 8 9 garbage out of this.

  10. Jim

Gonna be honest, didn’t make it past the 1st paragraph. There has been plenty of reason to love the star wars universe since Empire. While the main movies have been meh the clone wars movie and series was amazing. Hence the uproar of ashoka in the mandalorian. Rogue one was the best movie Disney did and honestly pretty good even if it was just meant to explain a loop hole. If you’d pay attention to anything not mainstream the video games and novels all brought out what most fans love about the series. Seriously, go play knights of the old republic or read one of the novels. Otherwise you don’t have any credentials for writing this article.

    1. D

What do you mean this series has done something that hasn’t been done since episode 5? Have you watched the clone wars? Have you played Knights of the old Republic? There has been plenty of good content between these 2 projects.

  11. Adam Lee

Spoilers but wanted to add this, as it seems like an important note about Ben Solo/Kylo Ren that contradicts some of Rebekah’s (whose writing I like) article and speculation.

The Knights of Ren comic, which is canon, confirmed that Ben Solo didn’t burn down the Temple or massacre the Jedi Padawan learners there. The original Knights of Ren did so. Ben left the Temple in the wake of his incident with Luke Skywalker and wanted to be left alone. Unfortunately, some of the remaining Padawan learners didn’t believe him when he tried to explain the situation, followed him and, upon attacking Ben, were killed. If Grogu is killed, which seems like a very unlikely move from Disney and Lucasfilm, it likely wouldn’t be by Ben at the Jedi Temple featured in the new trilogy.

    1. Rick Stephens

Remember the prequel “Revenge of The Sith”…??
It was Anakin Skywalker who slayed the padawan younglings under the order of Palpatine, not Ben Solo.
This article writer clearly lives on another planet far far away.

I think you made a mistake. It’s not Din-Din who is dead; it’s the smell of the rotting carcass of Disney Star Wars. Since 2012, it got infected with story judging instead of story telling. After five years, it received the final deathblow in the cold Winter of 2017. Since then, many have tried to resuscitate it with little success. It’s now a shadow of its former glory. There is a prophecy that its creator will come back after a long absence to resurrect Star Wars.

    “¡Thank The Maker!”

What i would like to see happen is that Grogu completes his training long before Ben turns evil, and that Mano comes to get him and takes him away.

    1. Phil Martin

      Gina Carano kills him

      1. MattR

That’s just wrong. Don’t we have enough hate? It’s just a show.

    2. Ben was too young to enter the academy. Grogu would’ve become a padawans by a jedi assigned to him. Just like how Asoka was assigned a Jedi for real life training. Grogu has shown that he has been given opportunity to use the force more than once outside the control of the academy. He saves his foundling dad which he delivers a seriously wounded Din or Din is flushed into a timeline which Grogu must find him. Because Din and Bokatun capture and sent into a fighting arena. We can only speculate.

  15. Phil Martin

    Boba Fett kills him

  16. If they continue on that utter Dead baby dumpster fire of a “trilogy” I’m done with Mando. They need Gina back and go with the extended universe version that is the REAL canon not the Disney fallacy.

    1. Shredder

      She’s already back though sooooo.

  17. I don’t think Grogu should die. Even if it means for his foundling dad to either die or time jump. Kylo Ren wouldn’t be there while Grogu already trained and can use the force. The only trading he need is for the light saber. Therefore, should have his own episodes like Ashoka takes over to deliver Grogu to retrieve his stone to place it in his lightsaber. There are other Jedi’s still out there who saves Grogu. If Din tries to save him being saved by a Jedi and Padwan Grogu. Grogu wouldn’t be there anyways. Kylo Ren wasn’t old enough to enter the academy according to the timeline. Why are some people want death over saving lives. Both are reality. Time has changed even in our real world where people are stepping up and not curl up if there’s danger. Reality ✔️ check

  18. Ma77

I don’t care what happened to Gina, she’s not a great actor, and her story wasn’t important enough to focus on in the show long term, so whatever, but I think we can all agree that the author of this article would be wise to forget the new Rey trilogy and it’s anti man strength leader Katherine Kennedy, it’s highly likely the Mando/clone wars writers along with George Lucas will not acknowledge it’s existence in the future

  19. Andrew Worthington

I’ve really enjoyed The Mandalorian, to have Kylo Ren kill off Grogu. Then kill off Din, not every loved character(s) has to die. But if thats the way they end the Mandalorian, I’m done with Star Wars.

  20. Tami

No way! Mando and Grogu better reunite after his Jedi training and just live happily ever after with Mando’s bride to be! ❤️

  21. Illy Djarin

This sounds like something ripped right out of Grace Randolph’s mind and mouth. I don’t think I will ever understand what Pedro Pascal did to her that she has such vitriol for him. Sounds like the OP has the same amount of vitriol for him as well. As far as killing off the titular character is tantamount to suiciding the series. And also the fact that you have people who have gotten the service just for the Mandalorian would be a noob move for any producer and film studio.

At the end of the day ISTM is a tabloid website. Rife with theories so out there it would make websites like Infowars seem like legit news.
Inside the magic is the Infowars of Disney Star Wars. A whole lotta writers putting their headcannon in a format they are trying to sell off as truth.

I will take this article with the entire salt mine.

  22. MattR

I don’t get it. It’s an OK show and has been a fun distraction, but each episodes plot line was weak at best.
If they want to move on, fine with me!

  23. Shredder

Bro he’s talking about when Luke started his own Jedi temple you idiot.

  24. Will

Yess that sound great and rever than stopping the mandalorain werek around it like he could go off on a adventure or something then we could see grogu doing thing on his own or with look.
    Apologies for my spelling

  25. Lin

The time for movies to control society has come and gone. Disney is not God! Bring back the actors that could really act! Like Pedro Pascal and of course Johnny Depp! Disney is cutting its financial throat by creating a very false idea of society and our future likes and dislikes. Stories are just that STORIES not real life. Let actors use their abilities and truly act . Think back to the stars of the past that were not perfect like John Wayne, Elvis, Mickey Rooney, etc. They made millions from the theater and stages of the past and are still going strong in remakes and retakes. Get real and stop being the parent that trains us to believe in the “new age” and how it should be. Disney needs to “grow up” and just write great stories and not make bad decisions about actors lives private or public! Walt would be upset at the very thought of Baby Yoda and Pascal not a team any more! Shame!!
