I got there before the gate opened so the wait for PofC and Haunted Mansion wasn’t bad (10 minutes perhaps). I did have to wait 3 hours for my Rise of the Resistance boarding group to be called, so I spent it riding the above rides and Mark Twain SteMboat and getting some blue milk.
How can the lines be so long the park is only at 25% capacity. This is a phoned in story because the wait times are not true but data only from the app which has data that not based on facts.
It was about an hour and 20 minutes for the cars ride. We were there Sunday. Most rides are about 35-45 minutes. Not too bad, but not empty. Even though the park is at half capacity, so are the rides, because they split up carts into parties with empty carts in between. Should change soon though. Going back in two weeks 🙂
I was there on June 1. To me it was precorvid crowds. Was not 25% more like 50%. Had to wait 2 hours for lunch on mobile apps. Was not the happiest place on earth
Whoever wrote this is obviously depending on the Disneyland app for their information. I went today (Memorial Day) and the lines really weren’t as bad as they say. For many rides, the estimated wait time might’ve said something like 45-60 min, but every line we went to seemed more like 35 min or even less. I feel this is because they haven’t been able to correctly estimate wait times based on their social distancing rules. For example, there are NO lining up indoors so the crowds are all queued outside their respective locations and spaced 6ft apart, so the lines of course end up wrapping around everywhere.
As for Rise of the Resistance, the only reason that wait is so long is because it keeps having technical difficulties. So each time it has an issue, the cast members kick everyone out of line until it gets fixed.
This is the most accurate comment. Was there the same day and was not bad at all. Worst lines were for Cars and Soarin, but no more than 45-50 mins. Everything else about 35 or less. Can’t complain since just the pure lack of HUGE crowds was very pleasing as your not fighting people just to walk from one place to another. The biggest issue I found was for food and drinks and figuring out best way to get food on demand. They’ll need to improve this capability as they begin expanding capacity.
Lines? At Disneyland? It’s more likely than you think. Even with FastPass, you are going to spend several hours of your day in line. You can’t have tens of thousands of people in a park and not have lines. It’s just the way things work (maybe it’s because I grew up before fastpass, but the whole “waiting in line” thing is not new to me, though I milk fastpass as much as I can when it’s a thing, but I feel like I’m gaming the system). I don’t feel so entitled that lines are somehow beneath me in which to wait. There are LOTS of people who want to ride an attraction, so who am I to feel like I’m better than them and shouldn’t wait in line with them? The elitism is off the charts to think you won’t have to wait your turn when other people got there before you.
And nobody in the history of any Disney park has waited two hours to buy a bottle of water. Whoever Danielle “heard” this from is full of it. The only situation I know of where this has happened is when people were stuck on a broken Monorail at Walt Disney World for hours, and were given free bottled water when they were finally evacuated. Nobody has ever waited in a line for two hours to get a bottle of water at a Disney park. And even if they had, there are no fastpasses for vending carts, so bringing fastpass back wouldn’t make any difference. Even if there WERE fastpasses for vending carts, would you choose that fastpass over a Space Mountain fastpass? Danielle is not speaking rationally.
Bravo. Well said .Too many people have fallen for the FastPass marketing. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, it makes the parks more crowded (because if you have a FP you are in two places at once. Think about that) and increases overall wait time. Unless you are(were) an annual pass holder and you ONLY used FP, it doesn’t work anymore with today’s crowds. I could show the math but a great example is a day at Dland when FP went down all over the park and was unavailable. Guess what happened? Wait times for everything dropped over half. Matterhorn went from 60 to 20 mins. Space Mountain from 80 to 30. It was awesome.
Seems likely IMHO, that fast pass will be rapidly replaced with maxpass
Why? No money to be made by FP, MP more efficient since you can be notified via phone.
People also forget that the rides are operating below full capacity. 35% park attendance on a ride that is only using 40 to 50% of its available seats will make for long waits.
Our family just left Disneyland. We got a hopper pass and we went to both parks from the time they opened to the time they closed. We were able to do 14 rides, ride most of the major attractions, and our average wait time was about 30 minutes. I feel that was a successful day.
My 2 major complaints are: not enough open food vendors, and no tram for parking garage. Neither of them make for a family friendly experience and not child friendly.
Pack a lunch it is worth it.
Disney not really our thing, but we took advantage of the smaller Cali crowd.
Parks were clean and not crowded. They would lose lots of money but this is how it should be all the time. Worth the $200 ticket for the convenience.
We were there May 28, 29 2021. 25% Capacity and the lines were pretty long. No monorail so walking from parking structure to entrance was a bit long. They couldn’t use all ride lines due to spacing and distance. So lines were queuing up pretty far out. Some moved faster than others. Radiator Springs was the longest we got there early and that was our first ride. We were able to get on a lot of our desired rides and was pretty impressed on how the staff kept the lines flowing once in line. Having to order food through the App or drinks at the stands was a bit frustrating. Food window times offered didn’t always match our hungry times but the process flowed smoothly. Queues for rides got hard and didn’t always seem worth it as the queues closed very quickly. My wife did have to wait 30 minutes to buy water. Despite not seeing any shows or parades or fireworks we did agree we would not go back for a LONG time once at full capacity. We enjoyed our time and thankful we were able to bring our family when we did.
Does anyone think they’ll bring back single rider queue lines once California “officially” opens back up on June 15th? I’ll be doing a solo trip the following week on the 23rd and hoping I can take advantage of the coveted single rider lines…
Wife and I returned to Disneyland yesterday, and the crowds were awful! Long lines (40-60mins), no Boarding Passes for Rise of Resistance, and they ran out of Dole Whip! Mobile Dining was the best way to get food!
Same. We visited yesterday (6/1) and it was miserable. An hour walk from Mickey and Friends parking to the entrance kickstarted our day. Then waiting in LONG lines made us tired and hungry but we couldn’t find any food so we stood at the corn dog cart for another hour to eat a damn corn dog because we have a virtual line and couldn’t just order at the cart and grab and go. Then once food was in hand, it was another mission to find a permitted location to ingest it. Really sucked
