Who gives a flying hoot what “Disney Fans” think.
Honestly, stay at home then. Live in your “bubble.
But for those who had their shots or have already had covid19(like my family)……..let us have fun with ZERO MASKS.
It’s not my job to protect you and visa versa. Get over it and move on.
PREACH!
I did my part getting everyone in my home vaccinated.
If the anti vaccine ppl dont like it, not my problem. I wore a mask and didn’t like it, but did my part and now I can live again. If they get sick, its not on me.
Well pin a rose on your nose. It’s not my business if you got vaccinated just like it’s not your business if I choose not to. It’s not my job to keep you and your famy safe. And if you have a vaccine then what are you worried about? Won’t it protect you???
Thank you Disney! it will be great to walk around with a drink of even water in your hand and not pass out with the heat! People stay home if you dont like it! Most people ?love the masks removed! Now get rid of the mask wearing of preschool kids totally! We will be there soon!?
Not wearing masks is a GOOD thing people!!!! We have had to wear them for over a year! Why are we even having to tell and convince people that this is good news? We need to be celebrating!
J, Spark, Donna and Sarah – Maybe because people are still getting sick and still dying from this virus and not everyone can be vaccinated! In the last 3 weeks I have had 3 family members in the hospital with covid, — my uncle passed away and is being buried tomorrow! Just because you may have had covid doesn’t mean you are immune. You can get it more than once. Antibodies built up while sick only last a short time. And NO vaccine is 100% protection! How hard is it to wear a mask really? I am disappointed that Disney didn’t give a warning before changing their policy! We have an upcoming trip with children and are struggling with what to do as we will lose points we couldn’t use last year due to closure since it’s too late to rent them out! Disney was being so responsible and now it seems greed is taking over. Very sad!
Did he die from covid it did he die with covid? There’s a huge difference. It’s no one’s business regardless. You want to get a vaccine go right ahead. The flu is far more deadly but I don’t see anyone demanding to know if I got a flu shot. Mind your business and if you are afraid of a cold virus with a 99.8 percent recovery rate, then stay home.
Total world Covid deaths: 3.39 million Total world Spanish Flu deaths: 50 million
(Just one example of our deadlier flu outbreaks.) So….please feel free to let us know when Covid catches up will you.
Nice try Sunrise! The Spanish flu pandemic was in 1918/19!! Just to lend some perspective to this statement, in 1920 only 1% of U.S. homes had electricity and indoor plumbing. Thank God medical science has evolved just a little bit since 1918. What other gems of wisdom would you like to impart on us? Please let us know when you can form a cogent argument to support your claims.
“Let you know when I can form a cogent argument”, eh Tad? Oh dear.
Insults do not become us and are never a good sign for intellectual discourse. I’m not entirely sure what “claims” you think I need to support. These are simply the hard numbers. No more, no less. There’s no need to let me know when the Spanish Flu made its run through the population. I’m well aware of that particular fact. (as well as when several other strains of H1N1 made appearances) Advances in medical science are hardly the entire picture when it is offset by the relative lack of transmission vectors at that time. (It is interesting to note that until the last two hundred years or so, 90% of the population never traveled more than 10 miles from their place of birth, as compared to our modern global transit perspective. In short, people just weren’t mixing as much and as quickly as we do now and from an epidemiological standpoint it was much harder for a pathogen to gain a foothold and progress through a given population.) Given this, if the SARS CoV-2 virus responsible for Covid was proportionally as deadly; even factoring in modern medical practices and population increases, we should have seen a much more devastating impact. This is clearly not the first time we as a species have been through this and sadly will not be the last. A few notable examples include the Antonine plague which killed 5 million people in Roman held territory and helped bring about the close of the Pax Romana and the end of the empire, Smallpox infestations in the 16th century that are estimated to have killed off 90% of the indigenous population of the Western Hemisphere, Bubonic plague, responsible for the deaths of up to 200 million people over the span of a mere seven years. Even AIDS/HIV, also classified by infectious disease experts as one of the top 20 deadliest pandemics and one that has killed 36 million people so far. With all that said, we as a species are incredibly resilient. We’ve withstood far worse. We’ll get through this as well.
Thanks Sunrise for taking the time to access Google and copy and paste…we now have a historical snapshot global pandemics. So I’m guessing the premise of your original statement was that without taking any of the precautions to combat the spread of the Covid-19, it would have run it’s course without any significant increase in deaths due to the virus?? But we’ll never really know will we because in 2020/21 we have the ability and intelligence to take precautions to reduce the spread. One could hypothesize that if antibiotics had been around deaths from the bubonic plague would have been minimal, or if 16th century smallpox victims had access to the vaccine it would have been controlled? You are right, we will get through this. Quote “So….please feel free to let us know when Covid catches up will you.” unquote. Thank God and medical science it never will.
People died every day and plus just so you know people getting sick and die from the vaccine also. These Karen of the world need to stop. If you want to wear a mask go ahead that’s your choice but the ones who don’t that’s there choice. If they are vaccinated or not. . Damn this is America. Not some communists country where the government controls you. Get a life people and stop living I. Fear. Bc that’s what they want you to do. And if you.believe in the vaccine more power to you. Go get it. But if you don’t. More power to you also.
It’s a virus with a 99.8 percent recovery rate. If you are still scared after over a year then stay home. It’s not my job to make you feel safe, that’s on you boo. The flu is far more deadly but I didn’t see anyone demanding everyone get a flu vaccine.
I’ve received the flu shot, the Covid-19 shot, a yellow fever shot, a hepatitis A & B shot, a shot to prevent typhoid and paratyphoid fever and a shot to prevent meningococcal disease. I’ve also had to get rabies shots after being exposed in west Africa. Seems like a lot of shots but if you work for a relief organization and travel to parts of the world where these diseases are prevalent, that is what you do. And wear masks, gloves and eye protection. One shot I’ve never been offered is one that will stop me from reading posts by the underinformed and uneducated. But that is 100% curable, no shot or mask needed. Ignorance is bliss…
If living your life and not hiding in your house and being afraid of getting the sniffles and coughs (just like I get every flu season) is being stupid, then call me stupid!
“It’s not my responsibility to make you safe” is why the US has over 600,000 dead from this, when we could have had so fewer. The entitlement you all feel is heartbreaking. How can you look into the eyes of a dying person and tell them that sitting in a Starbucks is more important to you than their health?
Are we really so distant from one another emotionally?
