Backward thinking! Disney World, Universal Orlando, Sea World Orlando, Busch Gardens Tampa have all been opened since June/July 2020 and there have been no super spreader events from any of these theme parks. Is there any thing else Disney can do to ruin the “magic” and make families more miserable. Do they want people to stay home? Do they want to continue to lose money? The policy should be moving to a recommending use of masks not a requirement. Florida has one of the best records in the country for handling the virus, they have been opened and ready for business since last summer California not so much! Why would Disney look to “still closed” Disneyland for new covid restrictions it should be the other way around. Disneyland California should be following Disney World Florida and what has worked!

My thought exactly. This is absolutely ridiculous!

Definitely will not be attending Disney World parks.

My thoughts exactly!!!! Why I’m earth are they being more stringent right now after all of this success so far? You’d think they’d be loosening restrictions with the downward trajectory and “vaccinatinations” so frustrating. I guess they really do want people to stay home? No idea what they’re thinking.

STOP Going to their parks people!! Disney have made it clear they do NOT want your money!!

Hopefully my server arrives with a tall glass of water as soon as I sit down so I can begin drinking as I relax.

Let me guess: you’re also mad that you cannot go to the top of the World Trade Center to admire the view.

The world has changed, just as it did on 9/11, and your refusal to change with it just shows your ignorance. Over 3,000 died that day. And everything changed. First responders wore masks to prevent more of THEM dying. And we all rallied around that.

Now, over 500,000 Americans die, and you can’t be bothered to wear a mask to prevent more deaths. Stop being such a wimp. Suck it up and wear a darned mask, you selfish jerk.

This is confusing. “Actively eating or drinking”? So do you have to put your mask on in between bites and sips? Is there a designated amount of time in betweeen bites and sips that is considered not “actively” drinking or eating? 5 seconds, 30 seconds, a minute…two? Are you good as soon as your drinks and food arrive?
    Ugh…whatever ?

Honestly this is ridiculous. My family and I live in California and have yet to be able to go to DisneyLand. This was one of the hardest hit states which is why I understand the policy possibly for here but in Orlando FL ? Why? We plan to visit at the end of October but I want to be able to enjoy my time there, not worry about a face mask policy at all times ever. It’s getting out of hand. There are vaccines out now and the numbers for covid are going down. Please don’t make us have to wear a mask at the dining table. Not even in regular California restaurants are we required to wear a mask the whole time. Please reconsider this or you will definitely loose quite a bit of business.

Keep adding stupid mask rules Disney because as long as those stupid mask rules exact you will not touch my money ever

Well if it means removing it between sips I definitely wouldn’t be dining at any of the restaurants as that is crazy. There are plenty of wonderful restaurants to dine at in Orlando and surrounding areas and living here that would definitely be a deal changer for me. As of today they are not enforcing anything different so I guess we will wait and see. Or you can just bring a drink in with you and solve that problem immediately.

I’m sorry. I don’t understand how you expect a 2 year old to keep a mask on and wear it all day. Even airlines are not making masks mandatory for anyone under 6. I guess my family will wait to even consider visiting the parks until 10 years from now when this bologna is all over.

    1. Stacey

The airlines changed their policy? Haven’t flown in 10 years so this doesn’t affect me, but I’m definitely aggravated by Disney’s nonsense with this.

Trust me ,do not waste your money at Disney with this ridiculous mask mandate. It was miserable when we went during Thanksgiving..miserable!!! Will not be back until the mandate is lifted

This is absolutely ridiculous!!! Why would Disney take steps backwards!?! We went to World last year and how they’ve handled this pandemic in Florida is amazing. We never gave it a thought besides the masks were rough in the heat. We felt safe. The way California is running this pandemic is mind boggling. I live here and absolutely hate what Gruesome Newsom has turned it into and now Disney wants to follow in its foots steps, sorry to say but the words that come to mind is, stupid, brainless, mindless, foolish. 🙁 so much for Disney magic

  10. I find this latest update on masks very ironic as we have returned from a Disney trip February 5th- 12th and in almost every line at attractions guests young and old were drinking and eating with not a single cast member reminding them to pull up their masks add to that we saw very few cast members period monitoring the social distancing and drinking when walking to attractions. Disney just be consistent and stop pretending your here first for our safety. This new policy is only to move guests in and out of restaurants faster as to serve more in a shorter time frame.

What is the best dept to respond to Disney on this? We have not been to WDW since September 2014 but were so excited for a trip this June. It’s ridiculous as it is that masks are not optional. This dining change is complete lunacy. I will take my $300/day food budget for our family and take it to non Disney vendors. We are 1 year from the beginning of this nonpandemic that was manufactured from a flu season to affect political change and control the public. It’s enough already.

    1. Lee

You are so right. I definitely will not be wasting my money at WDW.

  12. Melanie Durham

As it should be for ANY restaurant or stores! Point blank! We need to eradicate this virus!

  13. Krista Hennessy

I live in the NYC area – even we are more open than this. Complete step backwards. Fortunately, there are plenty of places to dine in Orlando off Disney property for our upcoming trip.

  14. Jennifer

This is ridiculous. No reason for it. It’s been almost a year, and now they are taking a step back in progress!! Vaccine is out. Numbers are down. Is there other motivation here????
I canceled my 2020 trip. I have a 2021 trip that I’m leaning towards canceling based on all the rules. I’ll go to Universal, where they are not as strict. Stop drinking the kook aid Disney – and stop going to the parks people, maybe if they loose enough business they will stop the madness

  15. Stacey

    Email guest.services@disneyworld.com

Perhaps if enough of us contact them about how this serves NO purpose and has nothing to do with public health, yet only serves to encourage folks to take $ elsewhere, maybe they’ll revisit.

Time for Masks OPTIONAL throughout WDW/Disney Springs
