Keeping the present overpaid CEO’s of Disney will lead to the demise of Disney. You cannot build a company by the continual heavy cuts and high prices. This will eventually catch up. Disney right now is floundering and just trying to keep their head above water. No way to run a company.
They do realise that this if from Disney as a whole, not just the parks. And to do what they suggest would actually involve stealing from directors and illegally inflating the income of the parks.
On March 20, 2019 #BobIger bought my #Cartoon he knew the Character was stolen from me; #Scrat in #IceAge. Part of the 85 Billion Dollar #Fox Deal . January 17, 2020 Iger Dropped Fox. Then 5 weeks later he Steps down, then 2 weeks later, but not on his watch, March 11, 2020 Drops all Ice Age Movie Scrat Trademarks and Now #Walt Disney Owns None. And people feel sorry for Disney but yet still go. And who are they making rich not the cast members these guys. They have not lost anything from this pandemic
Actually they did take losses. At that level, total compensation is impacted by the overall performance of the company. The pandemic reduced growth and earnings in some/most sectors and their total compensation was adjusted accordingly. Still, there’s almost always a contracted base compensation amount which they’ll receive.
I think that salary cuts should be taken and shared with the laid off with cast members. After the lay off’s are brought back to work they should continue so that the average family can afford a visit to Disney World without having to saving for years in order to have that “Magical” experience.
While these compensations are huge, and yes they should have taken a huge reduction in lieu of the thousands of Disney employees that got laid off…. I ask the same question of NBA and NFL players, and high paid sport figures, actors, etc.
While all those NBA players, some making more per year than Iger, kept playing and getting paid, all those workers in all those arenas,, the venders, the ticket takers, etc… were also laid off and not getting paid.
I get so tired when one group, CEOs, corporate heads and continually singled out as being so greedy (perhaps so….), but these super high paid sports stars and celebrities are not.
Let’s see LaBron James give up his $20-million a year salary to those workers that were being paid $12 and hour but now have nothing.
Thank you for your post. A lot of stadium workers were paid by the teams / owners while the players got their contracts pro rated per game (except MLS whose players got robbed).
One also has to remember that Disney is not just theme parks. Yes the CEOs got paid a lot of money, but they also had to make some major decisions to take care of employees and shareholders.
