Earlier this year, Disney released their very first line of adaptive Halloween costumes. Although the costumes were incredibly well-designed, there were limited options — only Princess Cinderella and her carriage were available for Disney Princess loving girls.
One family decided to go the extra mile and create their very own Princess Belle adaptive Halloween costume for daughter Alyssa, celebrating the iconic “Be Our Guest” musical scene from Beauty and the Beast! Alyssa even got to wear Belle’s timeless yellow ballgown for her Disney Princess debut.
Alyssa’s joy is evident — and we love all the little touches, down to Chip, Mrs. Potts, and the famous West Wing rose! Even Beast wore his best attire to join in the fun.
Alyssa’s mom, Shannon, shared some details about the incredible “Be Our Guest” costume with Inside the Magic:
“We wanted to bring a little magic to her since we have had to cancel our trip [to Walt Disney World Resort] twice due to COVID. She loves Beauty and the Beast and was looking forward to eating at BOG for the first time(which didn’t happen) so the idea for this came to life so she could have her dinner with Beast until we get to visit the real thing!
I made the table using styrofoam board, made a tablecloth out of sparkly fabric. We pinned her Beast to the table and set with our Mrs Potts tea set. We used Velcro to keep everything on the table in place and zip ties to secure the table to her wheelchair. I made the sign to go behind her wheelchair chair out of poster board and wrapped with twinkle lights and ribbon.”
In this photo, all the details of the impressive Beauty and the Beast inspired Halloween costume really pop. But, the best accessory of all is Alyssa’s smile following her Princess Belle transformation!
The ITM team wishes Alyssa and her family all the best and sincerely hope she gets to take her magical Walt Disney World vacation soon.
