I wish our governor. Death DeSantis..Florida would do the same as Newsom. Common sense… Not dr shopping for advise. Smirk
Disney we are in a pandemic. Wake up And about to get much worse

Yeah I agree Vickie, let’s stay shut down until 40 million more people lose their jobs. This totally makes sense.

#Vickie, you just don’t get it do you? These are people with mortgages and bills to pay who work for the mouse. There is no reason why California still has these restrictions when Walmart and Costco are a veritable zoo of people in close indoor quarters. Disneyland at 25% capacity would be more than adequate to allow for safe social distancing. That Newsom refuses to budge an iota tells me that he could not care less. No one is being forced to go to any theme park or movie theater or restaurant. This is real life, you pay your nickel you take your chance. A healthy person is more likely to get in a car wreck and die than die from COVID-19. That’s just a fact.

This is very sad for all the affected cast members. I imagine Newsom will be losing some CA voters over this.

Newsom was just elected in 2019. Getting re-elected isn’t even going to be on his top 100 of things to worry about right now.

Disney execs should take a proportionate paycut. They will loose thousands from their paychecks, while the laid-off castmembers will have no paycheck. Also, stockholders could take a hit for the short term to allow more castmembers to retain their jobs.

I’m calling bull crap on this announcement.
    1. FL governor has lifted restrictions and Disney is choosing not to open back up.
    2. Not even a month ago, Disney announced the reinstatement of full salaries of the VERY high paid executives making 100’s of thousands up to millions of dollars per year.
So yeah. I call bull crap on this.

Umm my friends literally all are getting fired. It’s happening.

  6. I think some people are missing the big picture, i predict after the election on November 3rd if Biden wins then Disneyland will open, its all politics and as long as the economy is shut down the more they will blame Trump.

You either believe the science or the politicians. I’m 100% on agreement with science. COVID kills. COVID mames. Just because you didn’t get it or just had mild symptoms doesn’t mean it’s harmless. I get the flu vaccine every year. I plan on getting the COVID vaccine too. Until then I’m wearing my mask and staying away from people outside my bubble.
Thank you Disney for keeping me safe at your parks and resorts. We have been having a glorious time!
I’m sorry CM that you are a casualty of COVID. Desantis (Vicky, I love your term Death Desantis – so true) you need to step up and keep these people afloat until the vaccine is keeping this killer virus at bay. THEN we can reopen, safely!

SG, Florida Disney DID open safely. No outbreaks have been tied to Disney World after months of being open. I think Desantis is doing just fine keeping Disney World fans safe while still allowing thousands to work their jobs and earn a paycheck. The California cast members aren’t a casualty of Covid, they are casualties of a governor who is still getting paid while not allowing others to do so even though the company has proven definitively they can do it safely.
