Disney Parks Continues To Encourage Mobile Ordering

Disney has recently opened back up to park guests after a long period of closure due to the ongoing global pandemic. Now, with the Disney Springs shopping and dining district, along with all four parks back open — some are concerned about social distancing measurers.

While Disney has reacted as expected and implemented many changes throughout their parks and resorts, some people are still hesitant to visit.

Disney Parks Look a Little Different During the Pandemic

So far we’ve seen extra ticketed events canceled, shows and parades stopped and line queues spaced out to implement social distancing and avoid crowded gathering spaces. Disney has also enforced temperate checks at the gate, suspended park hopping and required all guests to wear face coverings that meet specific criteria.

All of these new changes are made in an effort to show the public that the company puts safety as their top priority and continues to evolve their rules and offerings as necessary to reduce unnecessary risk.

Mobile Ordering Helps Avoid Long Food Lines

The latest addition to the Disney Parks diligent safety plan is a new mobile ordering system accessible to all guests through the My Disney Experience app. This is a free app that can be downloaded on any smartphone.

With the new mobile ordering service, guests are now able to order food at more than 20 dining locations on property. A number that we hope to see grow, as social distancing will likely be the new “norm” for awhile.

Once an order is placed, guests will be notified when it’s available for pickup through the app. I don’t know about you, but I think this is a great step on Disney’s part and adds more time and convenience into our days while we’re enjoying the parks!

“Mobile ordering is part of our continued efforts to make your vacation experience more magical.  With the service, you can save time, skip the line and head directly to the pick-up counter for contactless payment using a credit/debit card, Disney Gift Card, Disney Rewards Redemption Card or Apple Pay.”
