I, for the life of me, cannot wrap my brain around Disney not being able to pay their bills to their contractors. Are you kidding me? Disney takes in SO much money. If a person acted that way with their finances, just wow. Talk about overextending yourself. If Disney can put itself in the hole with the billions that it makes, then they need to check themselves and hire a new CEO. COVID is the least of their worries.

You try not having and not have any park, hotel, restaurant or merchandise income for 4 months and your not going to be able to make some payments.

Why don’t you not take a paycheck for 4 months and get back to us on how your finances are.

Agree, Barbara. Sadly, Disney is known for taking a very long time to pay bills to companies, long before the pandemic. It seems inconceivable that Disney wouldn’t have the ability to pay these bills even with the closures. According to financial companies who analyze these things, “Disney cash on hand for the quarter ending March 31, 2020 was $14.339B, a 41.86% increase year-over-year.”

Yeah, they had – and have – the cash. 🙂

The article says “Due to the closures.”
But it’s not due to the closures. It’s due to Disney shutting down construction and Reno projects for the optics of looking like a caring company. Not for any legit reason.
Most construction companies around at State and country were operating normally.
