How much time do we have?? I remember riding on the tram tour at Universal Hollywood back in 1976 …ok stop laughing… and seeing JAWS for the first time. I was so scared I couldn’t even sleep on a water bed. But now that I am older…I enjoy that memory.
I won’t lie: when we went on the Jurassic Park ride when I was in 8th grade, I was sobbing with fear! They might bring you into the films a little too much
A trip to Universal is not complete without Cornish pasties and a butterbeer. The only mention the original drink in the books, so I am a purist and the OG butterbeer is my favorite.
As for favorite memory, at the last minute I was thrown into the grand opening ceremony of the brand new Jimmy Neutron Nicktoon Blast ride. Since I didn’t get to attend the rehearsal, the literal rocket man, jet pack and all - and how loud he was - were a shock to me! My surprise was quite genuine and not acting.
I think my favorite memories were when the Harry Potter section of the park in Los Angeles opened. I remember securing a broomstick to the back of my handicapped scooter, dressing as witchy as I could, and spending the day in that part of the park. And the food! The restaurant there had some of the best British food I’ve ever eaten.
@Rather-be-at-disney it’s so fun! I’ve done a few HP things near NYC like the Harry Potter exhibit and a Forbidden Forest Walk but nothing compares to the studio tour!
I’ve only been once (that I remember well)! But I went to the Harry Potter Studio Tour in London Last year which feels adjacent. I hope to go to Epic Universe in the next year or so pending the crowds!
It’s been wayyy too long since we’ve been to Universal, but some of my favorite things are the Frozen Butterbeer🍺(sorry @AlisonK, it’s just so much better than the regular lol), the dragon on top of the Gringott’s bank , and riding the Hogwarts Express!
My favorite memory is when my husband passed out on Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey! That is a memory I will NEVER forget! To give my husband some credit though, it was the first time he had ever really rode any rollercoasters before. Lol
Too many great memories here as well!
I am soooo stoked about going to Epic next year.
My daughter is graduating next year, and that’s her graduation gift from us. My most intense moment is actually at Volcano Bay the last time that we went there. I went down the drop on the middle slide of the volcano. Once you’re in there, there’s only one way to go, and that’s down!
That’s as intense as it gets for me. All of Universal’s parks are awesome!
My all time favorite memory of Universal was when I took my stepmom and she had her first taste of the HarryPotter fandom. She loved the books and to have me taking her made her exceptionally happy. She and I bonded over our love of Star Trek and all things fantasy/scifi.
I miss the jaws ride and the original King Kong (although the new one is fab as well). I remember going to the Florida one when it first opened and loads of rides weren’t up yet so we had free tickets that kept us going for a few years lol
Well it was over for us bc of Jaws and Graveyard Revue….. oh horror makeup still is fair granted the old show was more realistic a bit to the trade i mean nothing could beat watching faceoff on syfy…. but you need to ask whose on some of the youngins do not hit the jokes right but if your lucky some guys are still there from the past! In that instance i guess you havent seen the playtex show!?
Omg horror makeup is nothing what i imagined i love faceoff universal should have did a real show half their artists whom were on faceoff still wrk hhn! (Thats the best part of hhn the make up the event needs help HOS has beaten them bc they are better and originals… )face off be better than that show which is just an insult to the industry omg and diagon esp as empty as it is an insult to jaws fans!
I saw comments here early is the site having issues or are they being deleted again for hurting feelings bc they oposite opinions which this sight does alot and yet some appeciate opinions thats what comments are… but then you let comments that have no common sense in them stay??? Btw universal orlando is more useless then epcot is at the moment!
I worked hmu its not the orginal show and i got yelled at trying to revive some of the old jokes though some people could have shows go on for days! I miss my friends but uni will never be 2nd home like wdw its a nice vaca though and i like hhn enough to be the chainsaw princess!

I too prefer frozen
@Courtney_Raptive It’s the best, hands down!

It’s been almost 40 years since I’ve been to universal studios. The wife in the space suit in outer space was the best thing I can remember.
Too many great memories here as well!

That’s such a sweet memory!
I took my husband to Olivander’s Interactive Wand Shop and he was chosen to test his wand…it was so amazing to see his face !
That’s so sweet! I love that it’s your favorite memory!
Side note- behind the Hard Rock ,literally take the path to go behind , there is a piece of the actual Berlin Wall. Very cool to see

Oh an back to the future please bring it back
Free tickets??? That’s amazing!
@Courtney_Raptive yeah I know we had loads (mind you we only visited once a year then so maybe that’s why it seemed we had loads lol)
Dueling in Diagon Alley!

This was totally worth it after waiting 6 hours to enter the Wizarding World of Harry Potter on opening weekend
So fun!!! I love your wand technique!
