Kingdom of isolation Elsa inspired cocktail

With open restaurants being takeout only, and bars temporarily closed, people are getting very creative with their food and drinks.  We’ve seen Disney meals, desserts, and drinks. Us adults though, we want to unwind from all this stress and craziness, so what better than an ice cold alcoholic beverage?

Who better of a Disney character to inspire such a drink than the ice queen herself, Elsa, Queen of Arendelle? Well (spoiler alert!) now she’s the former Queen of Arendelle, as she discovered she’s the fifth spirit in Frozen 2. In more ways than one it seems, well, because we’re getting down to the spirits.

This drink is inspired by the first Frozen movie and is perfect for the current situation that we’re all in. It’s a great play on words and character inspiration.

Kingdom of Isolation

This recipe source is whiskey_witch. She took inspiration from the Frozen scene during Elsa’s famous song, “Let it Go.” She plucked words right out of the song for the cocktail name, where Elsa sings, “…Not a footprint to be seen, A kingdom of isolation, And it looks like I’m the queen…” We’re all kings and queens of our household, and these days our homes are our very own kingdom of isolation.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz white rum
  • .75 oz lime juice
  • .5 oz blue Curaçao
  • .5 oz almond orgeat
  • .5 oz vanilla syrup
  • Topped with spiced vanilla foam

All we can do is let it go! Let all the worries and frustrations go and just have a little fun with it. These flavors really offer you a getaway from the madness we call life. As whisky_witch calls it, the perfectly fitting quarantine cocktail.
