“Avengers Campus really is going to blow people away.”
Disney California Adventure Vice President Patrick Finnegan reportedly made this declaration with a smile on his face as he revealed new details regarding Avengers Campus: the Marvel-themed land set to open this summer at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.
Finnegan spoke about the phase 1 attractions that will be a part of the initial opening of Avengers Campus which includes a Spider-Man attraction, a Doctor Strange show, an Ant-Man and the Wasp-themed restaurant, and a rooftop stunt show.
But the biggest news he announced in an interview with OC Register was more details for the brand new E-ticket ride to be unveiled with Phase 2.
Spider-Man Stuntronic Rooftop Show

“This thing is just going to be eyebrow-raising and visible from a lot of places. It’s just going to be one of those things that we’re going to sit back and go, ‘Only Disney could and would do this.’” -Patrick Finnegan
This “stuntronic” Spider-Man was unveiled a few weeks ago as a robot with the ability to fly through the air and uses accelerometers, gyroscopes, and laser range finders to calculate trajectories and make precise landings, all while striking epic mid-air poses.
“We are that company that will do those sorts of things and not a lot of other places will take those risks and will devote the resources to a project like that. I think that is indicative of what’s to come with the land.” -Patrick Finnegan
Upcoming Spider-Man Attraction

“It’s next-level stuff. It’s going to be really popular and really cool. It’s not height restricted, so it’s great for the entire family.” –Patrick Finnegan
We knew that there was a Spider-Man attraction on the way, and patent filings suggested that we would be able to web sling ourselves during the attraction. But what we’ve learned is that there will be no height restrictions. Every member of the family will be able to take part.
Upcoming Doctor Strange Show

He [Doctor. Strange] will engage with guests in ways that are very different from the ways our other characters do. It’s going to allow us to tell some really cool stories in this land.” –Patrick Finnegan
Doctor Strange will host a show himself in which he will use his powers to simulate Sanctum Sanctorum. He will teach the audience to harness the energy of other dimensions and bend the laws of time and space to unravel the mysteries of the multiverse.
Ant-Man and the Wasp Restaurant

“The food is amazing. I can’t tell you what’s on the menu, but it advances the story.” –Patrick Finnegan
Pym’s Test Kitchen will be yet another level of immersion to this land. The food will be resized using Pym particles. The red particle will increase the size of food while the blue particle will shrink the food.
The Anticipated E-Ticket Attraction

“That is the next big one. We haven’t announced timing or a whole lot of detail.” –Patrick Finnegan
While we don’t know much about this ride, it appears to be the first Black Panther-themed attraction. Guests will board a Quinjet for Wakanda where they will help a team of superheroes fight off winged insects with razor-sharp teeth. We don’t know much else about it, but we’re definitely excited to learn more as we get closer to the announcement of the opening of Avengers Campus (as well as the announcement of when the E-ticket attraction will open later on).
