I don’t like this idea. We already pay enough to get into the park. If they want to charge after your 3rd fast pass that might work but otherwise leave it alone.
If Disney does this, it will be a very bad move on their part!! The way they have been shooting prices up, it ends up pricing people out or discouraging those who can afford to pay. I know they WANT the rich and elite, however they are forgetting that at least some folks with means have common sense as well. What is park admission for then… You pay to come in and walk around. Oh wait, all you can do after that is pay to eat or pay to buy things??! Shame on WDW if this goes through!!
actually you need to read other blogs and insider reports that say yes it is currently going on and being tested, or has been put in place in places like Shang and Cali. I have personally seen it and heard about it happening at WDW with the Club level members and it was part of the sales pitch when we did a DVC tour.
My question is: for the prices we’re hearing for the new Galactic Starcruiser two-night immersive hotel stay ($1400/night), shouldn’t that pretty much guarantee a ride(s) on both “Smuggler’s” and “Resistance”?
I do enjoy the Disney max pass at Disneyland since it doesn’t require planning what park and ride you want to do 60 days in advance! Plus it included all the pictures with characters and on rides! We typically do a WDW trip every year and it’s just so much more work! $15 is reasonable for max pass with pics but $50 would not be worth it at all!
Coming from Australia I would definitely pay a little extra to grab a couple more Fast Passes – that’s why I love the idea of the early entry / late night parties where just the rides are open. Having said that, experience tells me that you can make your way around a park and have a great day with only a few Fast Passes – and that there’s so much more to do apart from the few rides with Fast Passes. You do burn through those pretty quick! We have always been able to do everything we wanted with the 3 Fastpass (plus a couple more on the day) in the 60 day window.
In Japan there are very few Fast Pass rides and many ‘sell out’ within minutes of the park opening. It would’ve been great to be able to pre-purchase a couple of those!
No way would i pay for that . we are passholders and go pretty much every weekend. Between the passes and food we spend enough there . it would really upset me ro have to give up my passes but they are making it harder and harder to pay all this
There are several other blogs and insider Disney Sites that said yes an additional paid FastPass systems will be coming and currently is going on with Club level members. Being a Passholder we heard and saw it over the years with testers at WDW, just like the magic bands. Part of the DVC tour selling point was this new pay system. They also already do it in Shang and Cali. This is a bad move all around. The system has worked fine and the more they complicate things the worse the experiences are for guests in general. At first up until last year, I was able to book 3 rides regardless of what they were in a day, everyday. Now they have this BS Tier system that you might only be able to book one ride using up all 3 fast passes to reserve a time for that ride only. As hard as it is being a mom of 4 children with disabilities, I’m thankful we have the scheduling call back system thru Disney that has not changed because it honestly seems to be the best way to enjoy your time and make the most of it in the parks to ride rides and not be as stressful as the system is starting to become.

I read a lot that having a FP system “guarantes guests will get on their favorite attractions ” . Of course it doesn’t. The attraction could be down for the day. Without FP you just wait in line for the “must do” on your visit. It’s all marketing folks. Let’s get back to the days when you dont have to know when you want to ride a ride and where you want to eat 90 days in advance.
Under the guise of improving guest experience Disney is profit driven. The stakeholders demand a maximum return on their investment . Charging for fast passes is the logical next step in increasing profits. That is not a bad thing at all. They have a high demand product with a seemingly endless supply of guests/customers.demanding their product. It is “good business practice ” to continue to increase prices on everything until guest resistance negatively affects profits. Until that happens hold on to your hat priced, sur-charges, premium upsell and anything that can be “taxed” will be addressed. As a stock holder I ssaygo for it. Let’s squeeze every dollar that we
can from the customers intil they “squeal “. It is the American way. Come on stock value and come on dividends!!$$
Disney is pricing the average family out of coming to Disney World
I can’t imagine paying for fast passes.
My daughter and I have been coming to
Disney World for over 35 years at Christmas. It’s a tradition but it might have to come to an end with the constant increases.

I highly doubt disney would do this bc they know this is universal main complaint. If they do it then disney is dumber than i thought!

What is the benefit to stay on property? Keep removing benefits and see profits fly from other areas of your ‘investment’

I really hope they keep the free FP one of the lovely perks of paying all that money
