We are hearing reports of a fire that occurred last night at Storybook Circus inside Magic Kingdom Park at the Walt Disney World Resort.
According to the report, cast members are indicating that a fire happened inside the Big Top Souvenirs store last night. Currently, Big Top Souvenirs is closed to the public, blocked off by large black curtains, possibly placed to hide any damage inside the store.
We haven’t seen an official statement from Disney about the incident, but what we have learned so far is that there might be extensive damage to the Big Top Souvenirs shop with no news as to when it might re-open.
The Big Top Souvenirs shop was one of the locations to find special Holiday merchandise this Holiday season. Once we learn more, we’ll let you know where the new locations will be where you can find those holiday exclusives so you can pick up your favorites during your visit.
There are two character Meet and Greets right next to the Big Top Souvenirs shop. You can usually find Daisy, Donald, and other Disney Pals at Pete’s Silly Side Show; located directly next to Big Top Souvenirs. The information we have is stating that the character Meet and Greets are currently displaced. However, when we logged in to My Disney Experience, the map shows wait times in the meet and greets’ usual location. Our best guess is that the characters are in fact still be meeting guests, but if you are visiting the park today or anytime soon, be aware they might be set up somewhere nearby outside the big tent.
We haven’t seen any additional reports, and Disney has yet to make any official statements. But we will update you with any more information as this story develops. So, do check back often and we will update this post with the most up-to-date information as we confirm it.
