“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” may be the last time we see Finn on screen in the Star Wars film series as John Boyega has revealed his future with the film franchise looks like it might be coming to an end.
Only a few weeks ago did we see the reveal of the title and teaser trailer for the upcoming episode IX in the Star Wars series, “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which has been met with extreme excitement from all over the world! However, a new report brings sadness to some fans as this next film may bring the close to Finn’s story altogether.
In an interview with MTV News, Boyega was asked if he thinks he’ll reprise his role for future projects. And instead of keeping it vague or giving an answer that would make you think information on the subject would be revealed at a later time, the star answered: “I don’t know.”

“Honestly, the bottom of my heart, I don’t think I am,” Boyega said. “I don’t think I am. I feel like it’s–I really do feel that way.” In defense of his gloomy response, Boyega explained that “The Rise of Skywalker” will have such a definitive conclusion to his character’s journey that he’s not sure where things could go from there.
“Honestly, no, seriously, I just–this is really that movie, I think everyone doesn’t believe it, but this is that war that just ends everything. So I’m just like, wow, you know?”
Naturally, with this answer, it’s not one-hundred percent definitive that Boyega will never grace the big screen in the Star Wars series ever again, as the possibilities for this franchise are truly endless. However, as recent news revealed the series will be taking a hiatus after “The Rise of Skywalker,” it really is hard to tell if there will be room for Boyega in the series after this next film, as little is known of what is coming next from Lucasfilm.
According to We Got This Covered, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy recently mentioned that there are certain cast members from the current trilogy that they “may very well want to see down the line in the future.” Of course, Kennedy failed to mention which specific characters she was referring to.
