No party is a party without a Piñatas. And if you’re Winnie the Pooh, you know a party isn’t a party without a jar of honey. Well, here is a crafty and fun way to combine the two!
If you’ve got a special someone in your life who absolutely loves Winnie the Pooh, this is a perfect surprise, whether it’s for a birthday or even just a regular day! This fun DIY craft can be used as decor, party favors, or as an extra special, homemade birthday gift! See how you can make this special fun treat on your own!
To begin this DIY, you’ll need these eleven items below. Some of which, can be found around Pooh’s neck of the woods!
- Cardboard
- Ruler
- Utility Knife
- Blue Paper Streamers
- Yellow Paper Streamers
- Blue and Yellow Paper
- Masking Tape
- Glue
- Scissors
- Market
- Pencil
To begin, start by drawing a hunny pot shape onto your cardboard and then carefully cut it out using the utility knife. Once you get that hunny pot shape as a template, cut another hunny pot shape. Then, use your ruler to cut (3) two-inch wide strips of cardboard.
Next tape the cardboard strips vertically along the edge of one of your hunny pots to outline the shape. If you want to fill the piñatas with candy or confetti, now is the time. Then, tape the other hunny pot on top of the cardboard outline.
Now it’s time to cut fringe into the blue and yellow streamers. Once complete, starting at the bottom of the hunny pot, glue the blue fringe horizontally over the cardboard. Continue gluing the blue strips of fringe until the hunny pot is covered and then trim the excess edges.
Be sure to glue the blue fringe streamers around the edges and the back of the hunny pot as well, as this will finish the pot’s look, transforming it into the traditional Mexican party favor.
After applying the blue streamers, you can now glue the yellow fringe onto the top of the piñatas.
After gluing all the fringe and streamers, it’s time to cut out a “hunny drip” shape from the yellow paper, and a curved strip from the blue paper.
Lastly, write the word “Hunny” on the curved strip of blue paper and then glue both pieces onto the piñatas. The blue strip along the side and the yellow “hunny” along the top!
Note: This DIY craft does require the use of scissors and glue and may require the supervision of an adult.
