Attention, snack lovers! Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill has reopened at Disneyland Hotel with a new look and expanded offerings.
Located adjacent to Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar, Tangaroa Terrace is inspired by the classic Disney attraction, Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room. The tropical eatery combines motifs from many Pacific islands, including Hawaii, Tahiti, Fiji, Sumatra, and New Guinea. “Inside, new décor details feature a colorful tropical mural with “hidden” tiki room birds (can you find them all?), bamboo accents, exotic stone countertops, and glass fish net float lights, with open-air views of the pool,” says Disney. Outside, there’s an expanded new patio with bright rattan lounge chairs, tiki bar stools, and a communal table.
On the menu, both hot and cold dishes are served throughout the day. Breakfast is served until 11:00 AM and you can fuel up on items like the classic Breakfast Platter with scrambled eggs, bacon, and hash browns or the Breakfast Sandwich with kālua-style pulled pork, fried egg, hash browns, and gravy. For a lighter option, try the Açai Chia Breakfast Bowl with seasonal fruit and granola. There’s also Pineapple Upside Down Pancakes or the irresistible Tangaroa Toast, which comes coated in cinnamon sugar and topped with bananas Foster, whipped cream, bananas, and toasted coconut. With options like these, you definitely won’t want to skip breakfast on your next visit to the Disneyland Hotel.
For lunch and dinner, shareable options include Kālua-style Poutine (crispy crinkle fries topped with pork, cheese curds, gravy, pickled onions, and Fresno chiles) and the Pu Pu Platter (Chili-Garlic Edamame, Pork Gyoza, Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken Wings, and Panko-crusted Long Beans served with togarashi aïoli). Each of the items in the Pu Pu Platter can also be ordered individually. There’s also Shipwreck Nachos topped with kālua-style pulled pork, pineapple salsa, hoisin sauce, togarashi aïoli, and barbecue sauce and Fried Spam Musubi served with teriyaki sauce.
“Other dishes include a Lentil Garden Bowl with brown rice, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and onions tossed in coconut curry; the Tangaroa Salad with sautéed shrimp; and an Angus 1/3 lb. Hawaiian Cheeseburger served with grilled pineapple, Applewood-smoked bacon, Havarti cheese, togarashi aïoli, and teriyaki sauce,” says Disney.
Kids can enjoy smaller portions of some of these tasty meals. For breakfast, there’s a kid-sized Breakfast Platter and Pineapple Upside Down Pancake, plus a Mickey-shaped Tangaroa Toast. So cute! All three breakfast options are served with turkey bacon and fresh fruit. For lunch and dinner, there’s a Kid’s Cheeseburger, Grilled Salmon Bowl, and Chicken Breast Nuggets.
The newly-enhanced marketplace at Tangaroa Terrace is your go-to spot for grab-and-go pastries and snacks and specialty coffees. You can also pick up the fan-favorite Dole Whip soft serve and floats, plus Dole Whip floats with a splash of rum. There’s also a full bar of island cocktails.
Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill participates in the Mobile Order option via the Disneyland App, so you can order and pay ahead of time to skip the line.
